Wow. Very, very nice. Author Reply: Thank you. This is one of my earlies drables and I've never been sure of it.

Excellent. Even the brevity of the form communicates how little power of abstract thought Aragorn has left in this journey; he's become just Gollum's capture with limited articulated feelings. You really capture the whole experience - every sense and impression.

This must be a blessing and a burden for Faramir to look at Elboron everyday & see the person he loved best - to be reminded of the grief, yet still have a bit of him to hold onto. Author Reply: Thanks for the review. Yes, I think it is mixed blessing - and of course so hard to not try to make into your missing Boromir.

Avon, how I missed this one before I don't know, but it is beautiful. This is one of my favorite moments in Rohan's history - along with the renewal of the Oath by Aragorn and Éomer.

I really enjoyed this. Although I chose to portray Halbarad as a contemporary of Aragorn's, it is delightful to see what he's like as a member of the older generation. The affection and loyalty are still there. And the amusement. Author Reply: It's funny - I hadn't even thought of the age thing until someone else commented on it. My Halbarad just *is* older than Aragorn. I see him as being midway between Arathorn (who was an old father) and Aragorn. If I ever write him again (after I finish the other version of this story) I might have to try playing with his age. Cheers, Avon

Very clever - and just goes to show that there is more to Faramir than the cerebral! I wonder whether the distraction will still work in fifty years? Author Reply: Oh I do hope so! After all, there is some Numenor blood there. ;-)

This made me smile - what a lovely way to start work on a rainy monday morning! Thank you Author Reply: Thanks - and, hey, send some of that rain over here: we still need it. Avon Sydney, Australia

My goodness - what did she do to distract him?? Whatever it was, he didn't seem to mind too much! I know exactly how Faramir feels - I *hate* it when someone disturbs me when I'm reading (though my husband has never tried Éowyn's tactic!) Jay Author Reply: *grin* Much more fun to let everyone decide for themselves. My feeling was possibly licking the back of his neck - though if anyone tried that on me I'd deck them, but not everyone has my aversion to being touched on the neck. I also *hate* being disturbed when reading.
