Tolkien quote of the day:

Merry smiled. ‘Well then,’ he said, ‘if Strider will provide what is needed, I will smoke and think. I had some of Saruman’s best in my pack, but what became of it in the battle, I am sure I don’t know.’

‘Master Meriadoc,’ said Aragorn, ‘if you think that I have passed through the mountains and the realm of Gondor with fire and sword to bring herbs to a careless soldier who throws away his gear, you are mistaken. If your pack has not been found, then you must send for the herb-master of this House. And he will tell you that he did not know that the herb you desire had any virtues, but that it is called westmansweed by the vulgar, and galenas by the noble, and other names in other tongues more learned, and after adding a few half-forgotten rhymes that he does not understand, he will regretfully inform you that there is none in the House, and he will leave you to reflect on the history of tongues. And so now must I.

bullet Remembering Anew by Pearl Took Last Updated: 3/30/2007
First there was "Remember", which I never thought would birth a sequel. It was followed by "Remembering More" and "Remembering Aright". All of these are in my Pearl's Pearls collection. "Remembering Anew" continues the story and will be more than one chapter long, so I'm posting it on it's own. Jebbin and Other Brandbuck, two descendants of both Merry and Pippin, struggle with the Shire's history of the Travellers four hundred years after their return from the Quest.

bullet Are You Going To Leave Me? by Llinos Last Updated: 3/23/2007
The first chapter of this was originally posted on Marigold's Challenge 38 – which was to write a gap-filler. I decided that there are far more gaps in the film than the book, so I chose filmverse. This is the scene where Pip finds Merry on the battlefield and explains how on Middle-earth he got him back to the City and eventually onto the back of Éomer's horse. A gap that really needed filling!
