Oh god

In moments of such grief, to want to begin again would be so natural----

How very poignant and gentle.

Yes, the two of them will accompany one another--or follow as closely as they can--all the way at this point.

Love the mutual love shown here.

...and if fate decreed that he ended up trotting right at his heels one more time, well, it wasn't his fault that old habits were so hard to break.

They still have some years to live, that we know. What we don't know is how and when exactly they died. Of course, Pippin doesn't want to be left alone. And maybe fate is gentle with our two cousins.

Thank you very much, Citrine! Those four stories were great!

So sad, but really beautiful!

Despite all the sadness these lines made me smile:

"But you won't leave me?"

"No," Pippin said, and he managed to smile. "I'm right here in your pocket again, just like old times."

What would Merry be without his Pippin?

Lovely snippits all four Citrine. But whata mood change between first and last!

Ah, this one, in spite of the subject matter is sweet and hobbity and hopeful and almost cheerful. Perhaps it's no foretelling, and they yet have some time left--the Chronicler mentioned "years" after all, even if short ones. But they'll be together from now on.

These were a lovely set of ficlets! Thank you for sharing them with us!

Oh!

Oh, so sad! I knew, I knew, *something* was off, but I wasn't quite sure what till Pippin spoke. Poor, dear Merry.

*sniffle*
