Mirkwoodmaiden

After a years long break from writing fanfic I find myself writing again. The Professor's world is wonderful and rich and a great place to escape the realities of the world. I'm trying to get back into the habit of writing because it is really something that I love doing! I have been working in community theatre and writing baseball poetry. Another passion of mine.Tolkien and the film got me back to writing and for that I'm really grateful! Thank you Professor Tolkien. And thanks to all who read and enjoy my stories. • Life goes on apace

  I wrote "Leaving Home; Coming Home" before I wrote "Destiny's Child" now I am going re-edit and add in characters that I came to love from "Destiny's Child" into "Leaving Home" because had they been created I really do believe I would have included them. This is the first chapter of the re-edit, but I am posting it as a stand-alone for now to see what people think of the chapter. I will eventually add it to "Leaving Home" It starts a few weeks before Aragorn's coronation. Hope you enjoy!

• Father, Give me strength.

• My Birthday Mathoms

  As it is my birthday I thought I would follow in grand Hobbit tradition and give my stories as part of my birthday celebrations! Chapter 6: Estel receives a unique birthday gift! Chapter 5: A new story for my birthday this year. Eowyn witnesses a birth close to her heart. Chapter 4: is this year's Mathom. Celebrating her birthday in Dol Amroth Finduilas get an unexpected but cherished gift. Chapter 3: is new. Thranduil and Lasgalen move Northward so that she can birth further away from the troubles in the South forest. Set in the timeline of my story "Reunion in Mirkwood." Chapter 1 and 2 are also vignettes to do with birthdays. Eight-year old Merry receives a gift in Great Smials. And Eowyn gives Faramir something he has long wanted but for much of his life never thought he would ever get.

• Destiny's Child

  IT IS COMPLETE!! Éowyn finds herself away from the home of her birth and living at court. Orphaned with her brother, they go to live in Edoras, in the Golden Hall. She doesn't fit in with court life. She wants to fight and live a life people keep telling her can't be hers. This is her story. Eowyn has endlessly fascinated me The inspiration for the 1st chapter came from Lindelea during a discussion taking place the review section about how Eowyn became a shieldmaiden.

• Look to the future, always look forward

  In honour of Remembrance Day/ Veteran's Day, In Ithilien Faramir and Eowyn join with those who served to remember those who are no longer with us and made the ultimate sacrifice to insure the light continues and the world is made safe. Among those still with us wounds can linger even though they are not always visible. I meant to post this on Remembrance/ Veteran's day but time got away from me but I am posting it now.

• A Day of Celebration

  I first wrote this April 2020 at the beginning of lockdowns. We couldn't go out & celebrate our own anniversary so I decided to write about one instead. It is Faramir and Eowyn's twentieth wedding anniversary and all have come to celebrate! ONE YEAR ON: This is still the same story but I am adding and revamping bits of the story. • A Light in Midwinter

• Bound by Duty; Bound by Joy

  During the Ring War Faramir falls victim to more than just the physical wounds he took trying to retake Osgiliath. The Black Breath tries to claim him and only the Hands of the Healer, the King can bring him back. In killing the Witch King Éowyn is wounded and though Aragorn can heal her body, He cannot heal her spirit. Faramir will. First chapter is a bit grim but the following chapters are more optimistic. **REPOST due to Breach

• A Love of the Halfling's Leaf

  It is 2941. All manner of peoples come to Imladris seeking lore. Young Estel meets one of them and a lifelong love affair begins...with pipeweed. This short story is set the timeline of my main story “The Heir Apparent” about Estel growing up. In a slight change to canon timeline Estel meets Gandalf when he was five and living in Rivendell.

• Reunion in Mirkwood

  Thranduil reflects on the actions that caused Legolas to leave Mirkwood to travel to Imladris to deliver the news that Gollum has escaped. It has almost been a year since he seen his son. Much has happened in the North during the Ring War. Most of all he is heartsick awaiting a reunion with his youngest son. CAUTION: Chapter 6, 11, 13 & 17 contain a small amount of battle violence. UPDATE: I will finish this story. It hasn't been forgotten.

• On Father's day

• Changes and Acceptances

  It's little Elanor's birthday and all the Fellowship have travelled to the Shire to celebrate. Both Frodo and Arwen are finding their choices made during the Ring War difficult to live with. Consumed with guilt Frodo finally makes a decision. Arwen is slipping further and further away from Aragorn. A few AU elements. Angst in places, hopefully humour in others! Revised a few chapters! • Last Gift of Lasgalen

  Written for the Teitho Challenge: Cold (November-December 2019) Thranduil comes back to his halls after a retreat among the trees of his kingdom in Mirkwood and receives the tragic news that his wife, Lasgalen has been killed by Orcs. Young Legolas is now missing after hearing about his naneth’s death. I don't really say what happened to Lasgalen, but I do hint at it hence the PG-13 rating.

• A Heart Seeks Solace

  After a hiatus years in length I have come back to Stories of Arda to share and read! I reworked this story because I never felt it ended quite right. A companion piece to "The Heir Apparent." It is the anniversary of the day Celebrian took ship for the West for five hundred years Elrond has shared the pain of that loss with very few. On this particular anniversary Elrond shares his grief and finds compassion from a source close to his hearth and home.
