So,so beautiful. I am a recent widow and so your story touched my heart. I stayed awake through Yule to welcome back the sun. I pray that one Yule I, too, will be welcomed to that place between the worlds and so meet my beloved again for a time. Thank you. A most wonderful Yule gift.

How wonderful! This is a beautiful holiday story. It's lovely to imagine that this once-in-a-lifetime love can bring Gilraen enough joy and peace to endure the long years of loneliness ahead.

Thank you so much for reviewing! I want to write Solstice stories for the various portions of ME time permitting. This is the first. Hopefully not the last. Gilraen's story just moves me. She sacrifices everything for her son and the hope for her people. "I gave hope to the world and kept none for myself." Kinda says it all about her life. I like to try and give her a little happiness. :-)
