To answer your question, yes, I find the romance both believable and fun to read!

((hugs)) Stay well.

Awww. This was one grin after another (with a slight detour into concern for Arwen). Beregond is delightful here! Lothíriel may need to change her name to “lost-and-found princess”! I couldn’t help seeing her, Éowyn and Arwen cementing into a sort of Fearsome Threesome. What fun!

Author Reply: Lindelea!

Hello!! I'm really glad you liked it. I am so happy you like Beregond in my stories. He does add fun! and was lucky to not be slapped "upside the head" by Lothiriel! LOL!

This story takes place before many of the other stories I've already written. Specifically the others that I am referring to are "Changes and Acceptances" and "A Light in Midwinter".

I had to hint at the troubles that Arwen was facing in "Changes" in this story as it happens before it. In "Changes" is where Arwen does indeed work through the shadow that crosses over her face briefly in this story.

And yes in this story is where the bond of friendship between the three women actually begins. "When shall we three meet again..." LOL :-)) It has indeed been fun.

Did the romance bit between Lothiriel and Eomer work well? As I said to Shirebound, it is the first time that I have created a romance for one of my stories.

Hope you and yours are well. Stay safe.

Éomer looked into her eyes, in them he saw a kind heart but also a fierceness of a mother bear and a courage that would always meet life head on, come what may. A fire for life. He was drawn towards that fire. It would match his own.

And there you have it. What a wonderfully written romance!

Author Reply: Shirebound!

Yeah! I'm so happy you liked it. It is my first attempt at creating a romance. And I tried very hard to make it a romance that only these two could have.

Thanks again for writing! It really does mean a lot to me!

Stay safe! ((virtual hugs))

It is the end of a busy, exhausting day, so I skipped to the end of the chapter to click on the review link. I’m looking forward to reading this with my coffee tomorrow.

I shall look forward to your thoughts on the matter! :-)

What a wonderful story. I read Chapter 1 a while ago and thought it was a one-off. Imagine my delight to come across it again and find eight more chapters! I shall keep an eye on developments. Thank you.

The first chapter was written for the Teitho challenge but it was always meant to be a longer story. Glad you found it again! Yeah!!

Awww. I have to admit, I have read this several times over the past few days. Such a lovely chapter!

I like Eomer's understanding, his discerning of Faramir's distraction and, instead of being annoyed, he helps Faramir deal with his strong but tender emotions by injecting some humour and gently pulling Faramir back into the here and now with an eminently practical suggestion.

And I love Faramir's memory of the cliff-climbing incident. O yes, those pesky little tagalong sisters (been there, done that, worn out the t-shirt)... and Faramir understanding and talking to his little cousin (and her doll) - beautifully done on his part.

And his recognition of Eomer's growing feelings for Lotheriel. I like him more and more, the more I read about him (though JRRT certainly wrote an intriguing character to begin with, you are making Faramir ever more real for me).

I am looking forward to reading more.

Hope this finds you and yours well. (((virtual hugs)))

So happy to hear from you! So happy that you liked the chapter! You suggested a conversation between these two in a review earlier in the story and this is the result. Two honorable men bound by family becoming brothers of the heart. I always envision Eomer as a manly man but with deep emotions that he isn't always great at expressing, but he really wanted to thank Faramir for giving Eowyn her smile back. And poor Faramir, until he grows more in confidence, Which he does in my later stories, will be affected by his upbringing which as we all know, wasn't the best **understatement alert**. It is good that they are developing this relationship!

And men of my knowing tend to deflect emotion with humour or distraction hence Eomer's line, "before one of us break down into tears, songs or love poetry, I suggest we go and inspect the outer east battlements!” distraction AND humour!!

I am fascinated with Faramir (as you can see from my writings!) He is given so little love (save for Boromir and Imrahil, on the probable rare occasions he was able to escape to Dol Amroth) and yet he reaches out to Eowyn in the Houses of Healing with such gentleness, tenderness and patience. Those chapters have always just touched my heart so much.

So it easy to imagine that he would be very kind and understanding to his little cousin and her doll. I was also a bit of a tomboy, but still had a very close relationship with either my doll or teddy bear when I was eight.

Little sisters of the world Unite!! LOL!

Really happy to hear from you! We are well here! (touch wood)

Hope you are the same!

If I make any mistakes about the care of horses in my story please tell me so I can correct it. Most of my horse knowledge comes second hand from books.

It's wonderful to see the bonding and understanding between these two brothers-of-the-heart. Poo Faramir, still so uncertain of himself, but all of this will strengthen him in ways he never imagined.

Author Reply: Shirebound!

Agreed. In writing my more recent stories I have felt this relationship needed more attention. Two honorable men bound together by family. And it has developed nicely.

You are right. At this point, only 6 months removed from the war's end and his father's death and his relationship with Eowyn only just starting Faramir still very much is influenced by his past, the dysfunctional relationship with his father. (only the term is modern, the relationship dynamic is very much timeless) He will grow in confidence (as he does in my later stories) realising Eowyn's love for him. Ah! *warm fuzzy feelings* They will make each other very happy. :-))

Side note: God Bless Professor Tolkien for giving us this wonderful world to lose ourselves in during this very stressful time in the world outside Middle Earth!!

Stay Safe and well!

I must first admit to snorking when I read her horse's name, which sounded very familiar. Then it hit me: Windermere is a local real estate company. LOL!

Ah, yes, I remember those days, when I would let my horse have its head, and we would glory in flying together. Wonderful feeling of freedom and release from all care. Sort of resembles the feeling this poem evokes: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/highflig.htm

For some reason, the bumping scene calls strongly to my mind that bit from While You Were Sleeping when Lucy is in Peter's apartment, calling "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!" and backs into the swinging door, behind which Jack is crouching. No matter how many times I've seen it, I laugh (and wince) every time.

Hah. (Faramir's "slow-growing" comprehension)

Things are coming along quite nicely.

Author Reply: Lindelea!

Yeah! Windermere is a very English name. Isn't Lake Windermere in the Lake District? I thought it a very good name for a fleet of foot horse. In thinking about Lothiriel, having grown up with three older brothers and living by the sea as opposed to within Minas Tirith gives scope to the Tomboy idea. And a despairing mother....:-)

Thank you for the link to the poem. I have heard snippets of it before but I never knew where it came from! Thank you!

Haven't seen "While you were Sleeping" in a while but now that you mention it! LOL Yes!

Faramir, generally bright and perceptive, but not in the ways of relationships, BUt then again he is a man, so not change there then!! :-))

Stay Safe...and no butter eating! :-))

Clueless Faramir is so very... cute. (Can I use that word for such a serious, blooded warrior?)

Oh how I miss toast... I love reading about their breakfast... and the happy thought has just occurred to me that I can still lather marmalade on toast if I only leave off the butter!

Oh. And you have brought me in the space of a breath from laughter to tears. Wanting to make beautiful things...to erase the ugliness... This chord chimes loudly when I think of my own reasons for writing fanfic right now. But the boy is winsome and heartbreaking, and I love Eowyn's quick understanding and empathy.

"Pure goodness." To paraphrase some Welsh relations and the Tooks as I write them, "O aye."

Author Reply: Lindelea!

You are right! Clueless Faramir IS so cute! And Yes I think we can say that about a serious and blooded warrior. Especially Faramir. He is very dedicated to his duty and not very confidence in areas of life. I think he has not had a great deal of experience with women in his life or being in his life. No mother and living a male world of soldiering. Bless him. :-)

I do love toast!! And yes butter is not necessary especially if you have top quality marmalade!! Yumm!

"This chord chimes loudly when I think of my own reasons for writing fanfic right now." Yup. It does ring true for me, you and Telion! We create beauty to combat the ugliness.

And As I said to Shirebound in her review it had only been six months since the end of the war and I wanted to show how some of the regular people of Minas Tirith were affected by the war and as I was writing this opportunity presented it. Eowyn killed the Witch King. Yes, Aragorn helped pull her from the Black Shadow but war still leaves marks. She could understand Telion and Telion could understand her. It was a build between people where social sphere has no meaning.

I think of Arwen and I just think goodness just radiates from her and that is what Taethion reacts to and the actions of Eowyn as well. "O aye!"

Stay well

Arwen said, “You received this in the service to Gondor and to the Light?”

“Aye, My Queen.”

“Then it is we who honor you.” Arwen bowed her head; Éowyn and Dolthriel followed suit.

That's lovely. :)

Author Reply: Shirebound!

Thanks! As it was only six months since the ending of the war I wanted to find a way to talk a little about the effect on the people of Minas Tirith and in the writing of this chapter I found this opportunity. Thank you for taking the time to write!

I hope this note finds you and yours well and healthy.

Stay Safe!
