Very nice... Merry is acting like himself, not eating for a hobbit means trouble. Merry taking a nap, I think he is feeling unwell. Pippin is concerned,Merry hasn't been palying with him as he usually does, and he wonders if he is tired of him being around. Please keep up the good work, can't wait to hear more. Author Reply: Merry is unwell, yes, and that of course makes Pippin concerned. He hasn`t seen Merry unwell before and all of this is a new experience for him.

O hurrah! An Anso story to savour! I do love your Merry, your regard for and understanding of the character shines through. though raids on the larders didn’t usually affect Merry’s appetite. This had me chuckling; it rings true! couldn`t remember Merry ever taking a nap unless it was because Pippin needed one Another little facet of Merry's character; you can see his way of taking care of Pippin without appearing to take care of him. Her nephew was a cheerful whirlwind, only her own son surpassed him in energy, and the two of them could eat more than the rest of her family combined. What a nice picture you paint here! As usual, looking forward to more. Author Reply: Thank you! I think Merry watches out for Pippin whenever he has the opportunity and he does it even in sleep.

Oooh, what a wonderful beginning! I love Pippin trying to reason things out, but coming up with only concern and confusion. "If Merry couldn’t eat, he didn’t want to eat either. Feeling his family looking at him, he grasped his fork and tried to swallow down another bite or two, but it didn`t taste right anymore. What was wrong with his Merry?" Looking forward to more! Author Reply: Thank you! When soemthing is amiss with his Mer, Pippin always tries to find out what it is and how he can help. Seeing Merry so tired is a competely new situation for him and he doesn`t have any answers to what might be wrong.

very good story so far--i can't wait to read more. =) It's funny how you characterize a suspicious Pippin wondering why Merry would be more tired than usual and not play as much. Seems like he knows more Merry better than the adults. hehe :) Author Reply: Thank you! Pippin would know his Merry very well, I think. And he has no consept of things being amiss with Merry and not getting any solution to it.
