harrowcat · 21 February 2006 · Chapter 21: Rosie-lass

These two are going to be so excited and grateful when they finally meet and discover how much of their communication has been 'in truth and not in seeming'. I am going to have to go back and read the books - yet again! Is the idea of Frodo's last dance being at Aragorn and Arwen's wedding from Canon or from that increasing collection of accepted links between different Authors? Larner, I think, in this case. No matter which it all adds to the enjoyment.

Author's reply

Yes, the last dance is from Larner. I have so enjoyed watching him in that story - so beautiful and graceful and wonderful and I have grieved that he no longer does it so of course I had to include a little something in here! I'm glad too that the two brothers can share so much, from their shared heart and soul, no doubt. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 21 February 2006 · Chapter 21: Rosie-lass

Oh my! :) Surprise, surprise! Thank you, Antane; I wrote that little rhyme for fun, never imagining that it would find it's way into a story! But now you've given me an idea for a story of my own that centers around it. How wonderful that Frodo could know when Rosie-lass was born...and dance for her! :) Yes, Sam is definitely a proud papa now. :) God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Thought you enjoy that little insert, my dear! And wasn't it wonderful to see him dancing again! :) Namarie, God bless, Im mil le, Antane

Queen Galadriel · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 20: Confirmation

Wow! How interesting, Antane. I think this is perfect, and with your alterations seems quite Elvish. And Frodo's joy on receiving such an honour is almost palpable. God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Hannon le, mellon nin! Glad you enjoyed! Namarie, God bless, Mil le, Antane :)

harrowcat · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 20: Confirmation

Great stuff Antane and such good timing. I have just got back from leading the first session for 43 young people who are exploring their desire to be Confirmed. We split it up, as I am sure you know, but your way is more logical and that is what we do for adults like Frodo!

Author's reply

Hannon le, harrowcat! Maybe one day I'll write an essay entitled "How Frodo Baggins Made Me a Better Catholic". I've enjoyed writing his spiritual journey and I'm glad it's been so well received. I would add to necessary things for someone to have - a good spiritual director/confessor. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Starfire_Moonlight · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 20: Confirmation

Yes, this greatly reminds me of Baptism and Holy Communion. I don't doubt that Frodo is a child of Eru, a servant who destroyed the Evil and holder of the Light. I love this story/saga.

Author's reply

Thank you - your support is so appreciated!! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

harrowcat · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 19: Candles

I love the symmetry of this Antane. Candles, stars, the moon all things to bridge the distance; paths of light for Sam to follow. And Sam and Frodo both beacons of hope for each other. What a blaze there will be when they are re-united.

Queen Galadriel · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 19: Candles

It's so sad and yet sweet to think of them lighting candles to again have a taste of one another's light of being. And you capture so perfectly how the minds of very dear friends often run in the same direction here. :) We know it, don't we? :) God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Yes, indeed, my dear! I love the idea myself of them doing the same thing at the same time without knowing the other is doing it. Thanks for all these marvelous reviews of yours! Namarie, God bless, Im mil le, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 18: Victory at Last

First, sorry for the blank review there. Drat! I *would* press post before I meant to and send you a "dud," if you will. For some reason this chapter shows the love Frodo has for Sam more than any other chapter in this story, or perhaps even in this saga. Larner's expression of "dearer than brother" comes to mind. It's wonderful to see Frodo in such happy anticipation of his Sam's coming. God bless, Galadriel

harrowcat · 20 February 2006 · Chapter 18: Victory at Last

Enjoy your life, my Sam, the one your sacrifices on the Quest made possible. I liked this and it rings true. It made me wonder what Sam's life inthe Shire would have been like without the quest of the Ring. Much the same I might guess but without the depth of some friendships and certainly without the wider experience to so appreciate what he has.

harrowcat · 19 February 2006 · Chapter 17: Death in the Family

I had wondered when this chapter would come Antane. Nice balance to it. Your comment about Sam having one less thing to leave echoed one of Larner's tales in my mind. Faramir comments that he doesn't envy Aragorn's longer life because he has to lose so many friends. Aragorn reminds him that he will also have so many to great when he arrives.

harrowcat · 19 February 2006 · Chapter 16: Anniversaries

This is lovely Antane. So many links between the two places. I love sitting by the sea and under the stars. But living in London makes both a cherished treat only darn it! But you are where you need to be and I am where I need to be. That thought about friends and loved ones brings acceptance but only a little comfort. I do love the image of Frodo walking ahead but staying in sight.

Starfire_Moonlight · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 17: Death in the Family

I was on the verge to tears on this one. Bilbo's gone and the Gaffer's gone. Poor Frodo and Sam, but it's good to know they were there when their loved ones drew their last breaths.

Queen Galadriel · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 17: Death in the Family

Oh, this made me cry. To think of dear Bilbo gone! And Sam's poor old Gaffer, so rough round the edges but hiding a tender heart, as I like to imagine him. I feel like I keep repeating myself, but I'll say it again: extremely poignant and beautiful (Just as a side note, Marigold was already married by this time, but I imagine she and Tom Cotton might have lived at Number Three to take care of the Gaffer.) God bless, Galadriel

Larner · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 16: Anniversaries

That is the greatest gift for the moment--being finally free of the pain of the memories.

Larner · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 15: Peace

Yes, I, too, see Frodo preparing for Sam's coming by cultivating a garden.

Larner · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 14: Catechesis

Learning to accept oneself is a necessary part of healing, after all. So glad Frodo has this chance at spiritual fulfillment.

Larner · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 13: Dreams

The pain heals, while the longing continues.

Queen Galadriel · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 16: Anniversaries

Oh! I'm so glad the illness didn't come this time! I guess I should have known, but it still gave me such a feeling of joy to know that he's really healed! The birthday at the Havens and the rainbow and the description of looking up at the same moon were beautiful and poignant. God bless, Galadriel

harrowcat · 18 February 2006 · Chapter 15: Peace

Got to run this morning Antane but this is a treasure of a chapter Antane - a real acknowledgement that Frodo has turned the corner of healing. I can't imagine you not being a gardener and nurturer of all living things, including me. applies to you and many of the other Authors on this site - thank you all.

Author's reply

Thank you harrowcat for how much you have nutured me! It has been invaluable! :) Namarie, Im mil le, God bless, Antane

Queen Galadriel · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 15: Peace

Oh, this brought a smile to my face. I can tell by the words, the manner in which it is written, that Frodo is truly happy. Reading this, I got such a vivid image of him sitting on the garden bench, writing away, with a huge, radiant smile on his face. Beautiful! God bless, Galadriel

harrowcat · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 14: Catechesis

P.S. A title close to my heart too. I am employed as a Parish Catechist. The chapter explains the title but the word may need explaining to some.

Author's reply

I thought you would like that title! Thanks for all your reviews! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

harrowcat · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 14: Catechesis

What a lovely description of learning to live and love ones-self in the light andlove of the Creator. Thank you Antane.

Queen Galadriel · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 14: Catechesis

:) Oh, it's so wonderful to see such healing taking place! Yes, as he learns more of Iluvatar, he will heal more and more until he is whole and joyful again, ready to greet Sam with the same brightness which was his before the Ring came to him--or perhaps he'll be even brighter. I like to think that he would be. :) God bless, Galadriel

Queen Galadriel · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 13: Dreams

I'm so glad they can share joy and be together in dreams; though it must make it a little harder on waking. God bless, Galadriel

harrowcat · 17 February 2006 · Chapter 12: Small Things

It is often the small things that will overwhelm you when you are grieving and at the most unexpected moments. I am so glad that Rosie is so wise in the ways of her Sam. It sounds like Frodo is healing more quickly than Sam is recovering from his grief. They both need to nearly recover before they are re-united.
