Starfire_Moonlight · 10 February 2006 · Chapter 5: The Garden

Gardening, uh? Well, they do say that tending a garden can be good for folks, especially those who have hurts of the heart and soul. Sam ought to be proud when he arrives there. :D

Starfire_Moonlight · 10 February 2006 · Chapter 4: The Empty Room

Oh wow! Poor Sam, not wanting to go into Frodo's room because he ain't there no more. It must be so difficult to be in a place where a loved one used to be and them not there anymore. It's just so heart wenching, you know? But, Sam will see Frodo again, just as Rose said.

It is easy to forget that Bilbo would need healing too. But gardening therapy sounds wonderful. I spent today noticing the first tentative signs of Spring in glorious Warwickshire (very much Shire country) and then came back to less than leafy London and found that the frost was thick on the ground again!

Queen Galadriel · 10 February 2006 · Chapter 5: The Garden

Yes, a garden is a tried-and-true help when it comes to healing for the heart. And won't Sam be pleased to see it when he comes! And I've no doubt he'll share in the tending of it. :) God bless, Galadriel

Queen Galadriel · 9 February 2006 · Chapter 4: The Empty Room

Oh my, this is so real that it's almost alarming--almost. I feel as if I've felt this, though I know I haven't, not that deeply. You capture Sam so well, ever the loving protector, guardian, brother, friend... His listing of all the things he should still be able to do was heartbreaking. Sometimes the things we think are all wrong are really as they should be--no, always, because as long as things are in the Creator's hands (as they always will be) they will be as they are intended to be. But that can be so, so terribly hard to accept. I know I had to after 9/11, and it took months. This is very poignant and easily seen. Poor Sam, if only he and Frodo could send those letters! God bless, Galadriel

Jeodo Brandybuck · 9 February 2006 · Chapter 3: The House of Iluvatar

Oh, this is a wonderful series. It sounded as though it would be a little too angsty for me at first, but instead it is uplifting and delightful. I'm very much looking forward to reading more. Jeodo Brandybuck

What perfect timing for a chapter Antane. I have just finished a meeting with a group of people wishing to join our Church and I have been sharing about Holy Communion. The last thing I said to them was how special I found just being in our church when it was dark and quiet. You describe my feelings perfectly and put it in much better words than I managed. Thanks too, to Queen Galadriel for the wonderful songs. You two collaborate beautifully.

Hannon le, harrowcat! The church I go to is Byzantine Rite and I imagined Frodo walking in there, but it's *extremely* ornate and I think all you really need is that Presence Lamp and the Eucharist. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Starfire_Moonlight · 8 February 2006 · Chapter 3: The House of Iluvatar

Wow...that's all I can say for the moment. Anywho, wonderful chapter, as always. Beautiful song, in fact I won't be surprised if the Elves did sing that in the Undying Lands. Sorry 'bout not reviewing the last chapter, but I read over it and just to say wow again. I couldn't imagin the pain of losing someone so close to your heart, even if that person is not dead, it's just the fact of not seeing them for a long time.

So glad you are enjoying! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 8 February 2006 · Chapter 3: The House of Iluvatar

Wow! Beautiful, Antane, this is so beautiful! The descriptions...the feeling of hope and joy makes my heart swell. And as you-er, Frodo-described the singing, I could almost hear one pure voice singing something like the tune I'd composed for my part of the song, and when it rose in pitch and vollume when describing the fields and mountains and so forth, it was joined by others. This is my favourite chapter so far. Keep it coming! :) God bless, Galadriel

Queen Galadriel · 6 February 2006 · Chapter 2: Hard to Breathe

Oh, poor dears! I know it's hard, so hard, and hard for those who love them best to watch them grieve and be able to do nothing. Oh, they can comfort and soothe, dry tears and promise that everything will be all right, but even those things can't take away the pain. But they have one who loves them more than they love one another, and that One is from whom their healing must come. This is very poignant, and I can easily see this. God bless, Galadriel

harrowcat · 6 February 2006 · Chapter 2: Hard to Breathe

Maybe I’ll just pause a little, close my eyes and the book, let the tears run out and then I’ll be able to write again. If I substitute read for write and book for computer I might be able to manage the next chapter Antane. This is so sad but beautiful.

Larner · 5 February 2006 · Chapter 1: Looking East, Looking West

Yes, the hearts will heal.

Author's reply

I'm glad you are reading this one, too, Larner! Hannon le! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

harrowcat · 5 February 2006 · Chapter 1: Looking East, Looking West

Great start to this new part Antane. I like the subtle but more fundamental optimism that you infuse into Sam. But, with the whole of his heart in the keeping of two other people, he is going to need a lot of strength to cope when Rosie dies.

Queen Galadriel · 4 February 2006 · Chapter 1: Looking East, Looking West

Yay! The next part begins! Yes, definitely angsty, and you do wonderfully at portraying the grief here. I wish they could have really been able to send those letters then. It might have helped them to know each was feeling the same as the other. And Sam's worrying about whether his Frodo was warm enough, eating enough, sleeping well and so forth was so sweet and so Sam-like. That kind of worry can really be agonizing though; I know because I can be that way-and usually end up being annoying. :) Excellent beginning and can't wait for more! God bless, Galadriel

Hannon le, my dear! Namarie, God bless, Mil le, Antane :)

Starfire_Moonlight · 4 February 2006 · Chapter 1: Looking East, Looking West

Oh Antane that is so beautiful! As I read it, it sounded as if they were acutally written by Sam and Frodo. I know they can't wait till the day comes when they see each other again. :)

Author's reply

Hannon le for those great compliments! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
