Thank you for the smile :-)
The Fiddler's Elbow, eh! I think I have a case of that myself . . . LOL!
Well done, ST :-)
Author's reply
I'm so glad it made you smile!
I once saw a pub called The Fiddler's Elbow and I thought it was such a hobbity name. I'm sorry to hear that you have a case of it though!
Thanks for reading, Pearl!

· Chapter 72: Cool Sunlight and Green Grass
Pippin takes another deep breath and the joy bubbling deep in his chest suddenly escapes in the sound of clear, delighted laughter.
*Applause*
That was beautifully written. Thank you very much :)
Author's reply
Thanks so much, Andrea! I'm very glad you enjoyed it, especially that line. I thought it was Pippinish :)

It's over - what could be more convincing than cool sunlight and green grass? Pippin might still be a long way from recovering fully - but he has all his greatest hopes confirmed!
Author's reply
I wrote this because I wanted to see Pippin's wish coming true! :)
Thanks for reading, Bodkin!

I love your description in this, dear~ what a great peaceful moment for Pippin. :) Also love the fact that you got inspired from what he said at the Black Gate. Love it when there's a gap-filler to a great line like that. :)
Author's reply
Thank you, dear. I'm so glad you enjoyed! "The Black Gate Opens" chapter is the most heartbreaking one for me and I would not be able to read it if I didn't know that Pippin is all right in the end. I wanted to show Pippin's wish coming true with this ficlet. :D

Oh I like this a lot ST. I love the way it is written in the present. And I know he adores being outside but I think Merry should tell him that running might be just a LEEEETLE premature! *g*
Author's reply
Thanks, harrowcat! I'm so glad you enjoyed. And don't worry about Pippin, he's in very good hands with Merry and Aragorn. Although when you think about it, Gimli says after the feast honoring Frodo and Sam that Pippin has been out of bed "only a day yet." Depending on what his tasks were at the feast (he did some serving, but was he on his feet all night?) it's pretty remarkable that someone who had been in bed for so long and suffering from being crushed by a troll could be up to that much activity so soon! :)

A dearly held desire granted by a loving universe, and Pippin begins to know he can indeed live.
Author's reply
It's something I wish we would have seen in the book...but then perhaps I wouldn't have had the opportunity to write this! :)
Thanks, Larner!

Wonderfull! Refreshing!!
"Oh, yes," Pippin says. He takes one step, and then another, and grins broadly. "Why Merry, I think I could run."
Thank you, ST :-)
Author's reply
Thank you so much, Pearl! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I really enjoyed writing a happy moment for Pippin after he has gone through so much :)

So cute! Bilbo really must have been much-loved by all his younger cousins. He has a wonderful way of handling them!
Author's reply
Thanks so much, Pebbles! I envision Bilbo as being really great with the children because even though he is so old he relates to them so well. I agree with you, he must have been quite popular with them! :)

Clever Merimac.
Primula will be a very happy mother - both to have her little one back safely and to have such a thoughtful little lad.

Awww. Wee Frodo is just too darn cute here! I'm glad Mac could help set everything to rights again. How very sweet of Frodo to give his mother a bouquet of flowers ... very sound advice from Mac indeed. :D

I'm sure Mac has some experience with staying on a mother's good side :)
I'm very glad you enjoyed. Thank you Elemmírë!

Older cousins can teach a number of lessons, and it appears Mac has taught Frodo his share and more. Lovely moment.
Author's reply
It was nice to write Frodo as the young hobbit learning from an older cousin for a change. Usually in my stories he is the older one teaching Merry or Pippin. I'm very glad you enjoyed, Larner. Thank you!

Ahh. Very sweet. Pervinca's tongue makes a bit too much impression on her little brother - but Frodo and Pippin's lists were lovely.
Author's reply
My Pervinca is a bit tempermental and I think she resented not being the youngest anymore. So glad you enjoyed the lists, I really thought hard on each one. Thanks Bodkin :)

It is so wonderful to be liked just for one's own self!! This is wonderful, ST, charming and a good lesson in friendship.
Wonderful!!!
Author's reply
Thank you so much! I had a wonderful time exploring Frodo and Pippin's friendship here, which I think is very interesting because of their age difference. I figured there had to be a very strong bond between them to make up for that. I'm so glad you enjoyed this :)

Merry and Berilac need to keep their ears open ... they'll doubtless come up with some very useful material to use on Merimac. And if they don't - well, doubtless Pippin will share what he knows once the blackberry tarts have run out.
Author's reply
Yes, exactly. Merimac will have to find a new distraction soon if he hopes to keep his past secret!
Thanks for reading, Bodkin :)

"Yes, Mac." Two small hands clutched at Merimac's shoulders as Pippin spoke again. "Mr. Greenhill told me all about you today."
Merimac cleared his throat uncomfortably. "Did he?"

Hmm, the proverb that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones comes to mind Merimac! And my mouth is watering as much as Merry's at the thought of those blackberry tarts! Blackberries are my most favourite soft fruit.
Author's reply
I think it's one of those "do as I say, not as I do" type of situations. Merimac is an adult now, and a father, and is trying to set a good example...too bad his past is nearly catching up to him in the form of a chatty Took! ;)
Thanks for reading, harrowcat!

Yes, of course, Pippin's splashing is just a time-saving procedure. Now Frodo won't have to bother with a bath of his own :)

ROTFL!!! Ah, Mr. Greenhill's blackberries! I *knew* they would turn up again!
So, first Mac, then Frodo and now three of their cousins at once - poor Mr. Greenhill ;-)
But Pippin's charm never fails to impress hobbit ladies! Remarkable!
Thank you Slightly Tookish, I'm sure Lily will love this :)

Thank you, Andrea! I had a lot of fun borrowing Lily's characters and writing them for a change. And I was very pleased that she liked it too (I acually mailed it to her first - real mail, with paper and everything! ;D). I'm so happy you enjoyed it too! :)
