Periantari · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 85: Dark Dreams

i loved this! I adore Merry anniversary fics as much as Frodo ones so i was glad to read this little ficlet-- i really liked Pippin being there for Merry and the comforting words were great to read as well. Poor Merry in remembering the slaying of the Witch-king really liked that last bit with Pippin about Old Man Willow~! Great stuff, Jen-- i'm glad you're writing again. =)

Author's reply

Thanks, dear! I'm glad I'm writing again too! I've missed it (and the hobbits) a lot, but as you know, the muse can be very stubborn. I'm so glad you liked the bit about Old Man Willow. That was a last minute addition and I really hoped it would work! :)

Grey Wonderer · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 85: Dark Dreams

I have so missed your hobbit stories! This was lovely. Very like hobbits in the way they didn't dwell on the dark things too long. Bravo! Anytime you feel like writing I will turn up to read it.

Author's reply

Thanks so much, GW! I really appreciate your very kind words. I'm so happy that you enjoyed this ficlet :)

Esquire_of_Rohan · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 85: Dark Dreams

Very good! I enjoyed this.

Author's reply

Thank you very much!

Larner · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 85: Dark Dreams

So many things could well set off the memories, I'd think. Poor Merry--but at least Pippin understands--far too well, possibly.

Author's reply

Yes, I think that Pippin definitely understands what Merry is going through at a personal level. Thanks so much for reading, Larner!

harrowcat · 2 June 2008 · Chapter 85: Dark Dreams

A dark dream indeed for both of them. I love Pippin's gentle scolding that if Merry had told him then he could have looked after him better.

Author's reply

Thanks so much, harrowcat! I'm so glad you enjoyed. I loved writing Pippin as the caregiver :)

Dreamflower · 13 May 2008 · Chapter 67: Questions and Answers

Aha! Thanks for the link! *grin* I love your precocious young Bilbo--indeed, his curiousity will fade for a while; perhaps his experiences in the Fell Winter will even make him timid for a time. But Gandalf will be able to rekindle that spark of Tookishness in him! *sigh* I wishwishwish there were more stories about little Bilbo!

Author's reply

Thanks, dear! I'm so happy that you like this one as well. I wish there were more wee!Bilbo stories too, he is so endearing to read and write about! I like your idea about the Fell Winter...I must ponder it some more! *g*

Dreamflower · 13 May 2008 · Chapter 13: To Catch a Thief

Oh, I'm so glad I found this one! I love the idea that this encounter might have been what drew Gandalf's attention to Bilbo many years later! "Would-be thief" indeed! Little did he know he'd grow up to be Burglar Bilbo! I hope I can find the other one...

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm glad you liked this oldie :D I hope you found the other one...it's called "Questions and Answers." I love writing wee Bilbo! He's so much fun.

Golden · 23 February 2008 · Chapter 84: Pippin's Logic

*giggles* Well..I think that really sounds logical. *L*

Author's reply

I'm glad you think so! Thanks for reading! :D

Larner · 2 February 2008 · Chapter 84: Pippin's Logic

Ah! How true! (Grinning!) Lovely!

Author's reply

*grins back* Thanks, Larner!

harrowcat · 2 February 2008 · Chapter 84: Pippin's Logic

Now that really is Tookish logic *g*

Author's reply

I'm glad you thought so! *grin* Thanks! :)

Grey Wonderer · 1 February 2008 · Chapter 84: Pippin's Logic

Clever thinking on Pip's part! I think he's made a good point. Loved it!

Author's reply

Thanks, GW! I'm glad Pippin's logic makes sense to you! I think he's quite the clever lad :D

Andrea · 1 February 2008 · Chapter 84: Pippin's Logic

LOL!!! Now that's logic! That reminds me of an ancient computer game called "Monkey Island", in which the hero fell off a cliff. A message appeared saying "You lost! Please resume the game." Seconds later the hero bounced up again and said "Below was a rubber tree!" ;-) His name was *not* Pippin, of course.

Author's reply

LOL that sounds like a funny game. A rubber tree! Maybe Pippin would have felt more comfortable in a rubber flet ;) Thanks for reading, Andrea!

Pearl Took · 31 January 2008 · Chapter 84: Pippin's Logic

Of course, it should have been obvious! ;-) Delightful ST!!

Author's reply

Thanks so much, Pearl! :D

Glory Underhill · 7 August 2007 · Chapter 48: A Bath-time Song

I LOVED IT! There are few things in this world better than Wee!Pippin bath fics and this is a stellar example! Loved how you wove the song in and made Bilbo the rare adult who encourages a good splash. How delightful!

Author's reply

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I can't resist wee Pippin, but singing-in-the-bath wee Pippin is particularly special :D

PIppinfan1988 · 22 April 2007 · Chapter 26: Hobbit in the Box

That was oh, so sweet! And picture-perfect, too - how a baby is more enthralled with bright ribbons and wrappings than actual gifts. PF

Author's reply

Thanks so much! I've always thought it was so funny that people go to so much trouble picking out the perfect gift when the baby only wants the ribbons and bows. *grin*

Bodkin · 30 March 2007 · Chapter 83: Mathom

Treasure! What a wonderful mathom for Pippin to give his parents. It will be tucked away and prized greatly. Clever Frodo. He even managed to remain paint-free!

Author's reply

Thanks so much, Bodkin! I'm so glad you enjoyed :) Frodo IS very clever. I love writing him and wee Pippin :D

Larner · 29 March 2007 · Chapter 83: Mathom

The perfect gift when flowers aren't available. Yes, most of us have done the handprint gift once or twice.

Author's reply

I remember making handprints when I was in pre-school and they were quite a hit with my parents. I though Paladin and Eglantine would like a set of their own :)

Larner · 29 March 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Haircuts and Hobbits

I DO remember this one, and can't think why I didn't respond. The courage given by example and caring is always sweet.

Author's reply

Thanks very much! This is one of my earliest stories, I'm so glad you enjoyed!

Larner · 29 March 2007 · Chapter 1: A Gift for Sam

At least Sam did get to meet some Elves, becoming more of an expert on Elves in the end than many from far more affluent families.

Author's reply

Thanks, Larner!

Larner · 29 March 2007 · Chapter 2: Pippin's Scarf

Sweet. How did I manage to miss this one?

Author's reply

Hmm...I'd say that a comment is never late or early, it arrives precicely when it means to? :D

Pearl Took · 28 March 2007 · Chapter 83: Mathom

This is adorable, S.Tookish :-) And Frodo is right, how nice for Paladin and Eglantine to have something that will last. Well done!

Author's reply

Thanks so much, Pearl! I haven't had much time to write lately but I wanted to have something ready for Shirebound's birthday. I'm so glad you enjoyed :)

harrowcat · 20 February 2007 · Chapter 82: Well Met

Great timing Gandalf! 'A wizard arrives just when he means to.'! Lovely glimpse of 'like father, like Son', ST.

Author's reply

Thanks, harrowcat! I'm so glad you enjoyed. Yes, I do believe that Pippin took after his father very much :)

Bodkin · 20 February 2007 · Chapter 82: Well Met

A good moment for Gandalf to arrive! Or there might never have been a Pippin ...

Author's reply

LOL yes, and that would have been a terrible thing! Thanks for reading, Bodkin!

Larner · 18 February 2007 · Chapter 82: Well Met

Ha! Like son, like father in this case eh? How charming the idea of it.

Author's reply

Yes, I think that Pippin would have taken after Paladin very much. I've never written Gandalf rescuing Pippin from a tree, but he certainly helped him out of a few scrapes here and there ;) Thanks for reading, Larner!

Pearl Took · 18 February 2007 · Chapter 82: Well Met

Excellent, ST!!! I love this. Paladin was so brave to make it down to the branch Gandalf pointed out to him. Gotta love us Tooks ;-)

Author's reply

I thought it important that Paladin climb down at least a little bit, so he would realize that despite his fear he could do it. Besides, I couldn't imagine Gandalf scurrying up the tree to rescue him, lol! We Tooks are irresistible! ;) I'm so glad you enjoyed, Pearl! Thanks very much!
