• Hello Authors Posting at SoA!

  This is not a story but a suggestion (warning?) to double-check your story summaries using the editing function. Look carefully at any stories in your list of published stories where the bottom-line information (Rating/Reviews/Status/etc.) is offset to the side. When I scrutinised my affected summaries in the edit box, I found text or coding had been added to the summary that was "invisible" on the home page display but showed up in the edit box. I worry that it might be some sort of malevolent code or invisible link that could be harmful to someone who accidentally clicked on it. When I deleted the "extra" text, the story summaries went back to "normal". ***Thanks for listening.***

• Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

  While in Minas Tirith after the end of the War of the Ring, surely the hobbits were showered with presents from a grateful populace, or at least the people tried to shower them with presents. This is the story of one awkward but lovable gift, and a unique solution to the problem. Final chapter added: Epilogue. • Dreams of Gold

  While I'm not writing new material at present, I went to a "green concert" last night, and it made me want to post something in honour of those who wear the green. This ficlet is part of a larger work, unfinished and unpublished (except for one chapter that was tacked on to another story as an epilogue of sorts). This part, which can stand alone, seems to be three or four chapters long; don't know, as am cutting and pasting a relatively small part from a very bulky draft. In any event, the story is a snippet out of a longer Quest, regarding hobbits who left the Shire behind to travel Southwards, to Caradhras, Moria, Parth Galen, and beyond. Think good thoughts; perhaps the whole thing will be posted by the 17th.
