| I'm usually not very caught by stories that take place after the Ring War because I miss the tension that comes from knowing where all the canonical characters are heading. But this was interesting. It's deeply canonical and it's about a time I know pretty much nothing about. It makes sense that Faramir and Legolas become allies and friends in Ithilien. You also explain why Legolas leaves Mirkwood, which is otherwise kind of puzzling. Author Reply: Thank you! I did try hard to keep it within canon ... had several books and web sites up to check against ... :-P I agree that the whole move of Legolas to Ithilien was not necessarily intuitive, and Tolkien didn't give us much of an explanation (as in, none at all, really) -- but I can totally see the two of them sitting around hatching this plot over dinner one evening ... :-) Thanks for your comments! | |

| Oh, I, too, have been attacked by one horror story in the midst of the night that had to be written out immediately. It took me until dawn, but I managed to do it in a one-chapter story, at least, and got it out of me. I still shudder when I read it again, which I don't do often. Do get it out of you--you will feel better for launching it on its way and clearing your mind for other stories you prefer to write! It does sound intriguing so far! | Lol, never ask my opinion PSW, for I swear I channel elves in giving answers. Humm, Elves are also my favorite Tolkien characters, so "elf-owies" as I like to call them usually have me screaming "Nooooo" to my Ipad. I enjoy your stories and this one is starting off great, lol, can you at least reassure me that my elf will be alright at the end??? Great reading Faramirs POV Author Reply: Thank you! I love Faramir, and given all the different 'versions' of him running around, it's interesting to write from his POV and see how he turns out for me. And, I'm so happy you enjoy my stories, I have a lot of fun with writing them. :-) Yes, I promise that at the end, your Elf will be 100% houseless spirit free ... ;-) | |

| *shivers* Ooooh, that's scary indeed! I'd love for you to continue. Faramir had, over the course of the evening, revealed his hopes, his goals, and his concerns regarding Ithilien. Discussion became ideas, ideas became planning, and by the end of the evening he had found himself standing with Legolas before the King, requesting permission for the Prince of Mirkwood to establish an Elven colony in the southern forests of Ithilien. That's a marvelous progression, and explanation for Legolas making Ithilien his home. Author Reply: Thank you! It's been sitting half-finished on my computer for a while, and suddenly kind of reached out and grabbed me again. I'm glad you like it -- if I'm venturing out of my comfort zone it's nice to know someone is actually reading it ... :-P | |
