Lovely fic. I think you captured Aragorn's kindness and wisdom well.

Smiling from ear to ear at the Legolas/Faramir friendship and mutual regard for Aragorn. Faramir is well-written here; and I'd like to see you write more of him...And it's a cracking good yarn, too.

Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-) I had fun writing it ... Thanks so much for your comments, I appreciate them!

Enjoying the tension and danger here, and especially the portrayal of Faramir's strength and sheer grit.

An interesting treatment of houseless spirits. Definitely gives me more to think about. Also, Arwen was a welcome surprise! Kudos. :)

Author Reply: Thank you! I very much enjoyed giving Arwen her moment. :-) Thanks so much for reading and your comments!

What a wonderful story, PSW. It's interesting that you thought of it as a horror story. I found it to be a "friendship" tale from beginning to end.

I enjoyed your characterization of Faramir, especially when he isn't quite sure how he should feel about Legolas being injured. Should we feel "glad" when some tragedy befalls someone else and not us? but determined to feel gratitude that all is well.

hummm, well I see you've got another story going so I won't bug you to write again soon ***snickers***. (just like us greedy fans, it's never enough).

once again thank you for the charming tale.

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And that it didn't come off too horror-ish. :-) I did end up having a very good time with it.

Thanks so much for reading, and all of your comments!

Ah, well done indeed, and it does appear the King is right about Hobbit habits perhaps being infectious.

Now, aren't you glad you wrote it out? Heh!

Author Reply: Yep, I am. I can now check 'horror' off of my list ... :-P Thanks so much for reading!

“The two of you have obviously spent far too much time with the hobbits.” Aragorn moved forward, holding the mug with the tea outstretched. Legolas blinked his eyes open and shared a swift, fatigued smile with Faramir.

“I am not certain such a thing is possible.”

You know how much I love that! I enjoyed this story very much. The deep friendship that must have developed between Faramir and Legolas isn't explored that much in fanfic, and you did a wonderful job here.

Author Reply: I thought you might. :-) Thanks so much for reading, I'm so glad you enjoyed this!

I loved this! So close and nearly disaster within sight of home; I can just imagine what poor Legolas was thinking (in panic) as he felt the last vestiges of his control slip. And I'm very proud of Faramir, showing he's justly earned his rank amongst the heroes of Middle Earth - lasting for 3 days without sleep and still managing to have enough reflexes to survive the spirit's assault - I think only Aragorn himself might have done better!

I loved this because its a very well written Faramir centric story, and I crave those as there really are few of them in place. The desperation of the characters and the slight touch of horror reminds me much of Thundera Tiger's Fey story, which is also something of a horror story but very, very well written and focused on Faramir.

I look much forward to the epilogue--I want to see what Legolas has to say to Faramir (and just how long it took for Faramir to recover from this little "jaunt"......and if that arm is really just bruised or fractured.....lol)

Author Reply: I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for your comments, I very much appreciate them. :-)

I have read 'Fey' as well ... you're definitely right, it was very good ...

FARAMIR is not the only one exhausted!! whew, I feel like I've been in a battle.
Great chapter, very powerfully written. I enjoyed your picture of Arwen, Aragorn had it right, she immediately reminded me of her grandmother.

and thank you for keeping your word and returning my elf back to his "houseless" free state.

very much enjoyed this chapter.

Author Reply: You're quite welcome, more than pleased to oblige. ;-)

Thanks so much for reading and for your comments, I'm happy you enjoyed!

I did wonder earlier if Arwen would be at least as useful as Aragorn in this case! After all, she does come from a family of rather powerful people, and now she showed it. Faramir's reaction was realistic, under ordinary circumstances the queen would be the last person allowed near something dangerous. I enjoyed her show of power and Faramir's stunned reaction to it. (And also that Aragorn stayed wisely away until he got the athelas.)

Author Reply: I think that Aragorn would definitely trust Arwen to do her thing, which includes not blundering into the middle of it all until he had a reason to think he could help the situation ... ;-) Thanks so much for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed!
