LOL ohhhhhh my, I'm not sure if you're terribly funny, or thoroughly evil... Perhaps both?

But to comment on your research, which I do take very seriously, honestly... your review of courtship rituals was rather interesting - I'm sure once you tried out their wine it became even more interesting, huh? Any ill post-drinking effects I conclude was due you after your previous treatment of elves! As were any objects thrown your way! [launches empty wine bottle in authors' general direction]
I was relieved to have found some concrete research on the Mary Sue effect - it explains so much! I do hope you continue your efforts, as it can only help to end the poaching of elves [please do add me to the petition]. But next time, I'd leave home the band-aids...

And "hircles" LOL oh my. That is an image to keep. I know, I know, it's not meant to be funny. We shouldn't mock other cultures. They would find many of our culture practices downright ludicrous. But I still have the question: did those males who became violent after having flowers braided into their hair seem to behave as expected, or was the first elf more surprised at the response?
I had a suggestion, btw, about testing the magnetic discharge - couldn't you simply carry magnets? It would be relatively harmless to the elves, although you may find them gravitating to you much more often. And would that be a bad thing...?

By the way, I bet it was Zippy...

Can you put my name down on the petition? I could not find it, but I am also strongly against the aforementioned poaching of Elves.

Glad you got the asexual reproduction thing figured out. Will not comment on the fate of the westward-traveling elves.

Keep up the good work!

Hey! I've said this before, and I'll say it again: I love the SRDM and the work of the field researchers in protecting this endangered species. As such, I was wondering if I could give a little free advertising? See, I am in partnership with the 'Theresa Green Model Manuals Ltd.', and was given the task of writing for the ELROND and THRANDUIL models. Would it be possible to mention the good work of the SRDM? You'll get 5% of the royalties ...

Very different but *very* funny. I'd like to quote, but I fear I ache too much from laughing. *gasps for air* Now, I sign my name against the poaching of T. galadh, and volunteer to patrol the forest for said Mary Sue. I knew this bow would come in handy. *grins evilly*

*wipes tears from corners of her eyes* That was hillarious! I was laughing so hard it wasn't even funny! *laughs some more*

Poor poor Pheobus! And Zippy! And Band-Aide, too! I'd love to sign the petition against the poaching of T. galadh. Grr...those Mary-Sues!

My favorite line: "Elves may, in fact, engage in behavior similar to that of Lemmings (See also: suicidal drowning)" I'm laughing my butt off over here! *grins*

This was most wonderful and a delight to read! Thanks *very* much for sharing!

HuGs & HaPpY HoLiDaYs!

God bless,
Lady Larien.

"It must be noted that Dwarves are not known to partake in the consumption of Elves, despite the organism’s fondness for meat" Hahahahaha!

This is great!

Every time I finally stop laughing at one thing, another line cracks me up again! Wonderful job!

LOL! This is great!

My favorite lines were:

-"It must here be noted that time and length of courtship showed high correlation to the following variables: age, weather, and amount of wine consumed"

-"Pig-headed men can have the stupid little sl… (Note: Last word scribbled over and unreadable. This observation submitted by female members of the research project.)"

I also loved the part about walking on branches even a sparrow couldn't sit on and "Whoever said the Wood-Elves are perilous and deadly when in battle obviously never faced a drunken contingent of Mirkwood archers"

Great work! Can't wait to read more!

Lady Larien.

Oh, how hilarious! I almost didn't read it after remembering my shock over what you did to Legolas in "Dissection" (for shame!), but I'm certainly glad my curiosity got the better of me.

Your send-up on the dispassionate writing style of scientific treatises, and the barely surfacing controversies that can sometimes be detected in them, as well as your keeping up the facade of the SRDM even when replying to fan reviews, are all superb.

Thanks for a very entertaining and, well, *different* work of fan fiction!

Hysterical! Okay, these are weird; very, very, weird, but *absolutely* hysterical! It seems like they ought to be offensive, but they aren't! A skewed but very original glimpse of some of my favorite Elves! And as someone who has tortuously ploughed my way through First & Second Year Latin, I found your scientific names most amusing. :) Also, if Lamiel is right, and Phoebus is Thranduil, may Eru have mercy on those poachers!
