In Darkness Bound  by Fiondil 13 Review(s)

I don't know what to say, I'm speechless...It is clear that Ingwion is not in his right mind, he should not be there, it is a mistake to have him on the trial. I know that he is a Prince and has responsibilities, but he needs care, he is unstable. Maybe Valars and Elves need a 101 in psychology?

What is wrong with Ingoldo? Does he want to die?

Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. That's pretty much the reaction I'm looking for from readers for this chapter. *grin* And it's all new territory even for the Valar, never mind the Elves. We'll see how Namo handles all this in the next chapter. And Ingoldo.... who knows? Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

I will admit my first thought upon finishing this chapter was "AHH! I have to wait til Monday?!" Then, I calmed down slightly (read: resigned myself to having to wait) and realized, while I am really interested to know what happens next, I not really too worried for anyone involved. Namo has survived a lot worse than an enraged Prince, and I think Ingwion's going to be mortified. He may want to kill Ingoldo, but I can never see him becoming so jaded that he doesn't care if others get in his way. Though his emotions might be tempered by the fact he's not to happy with Namo right now either....

So was Namo 'watching' over the trial, or did the Maiar who were call for back up? I will admit that Lord Namo is the best candidate to stop a group of rampaging elves. He's handy like that. ;) Honestly, I cannot see how Ingwe would decide to let Ingoldo stay in his court. I mean, his anger over being accused of killing Ingalaure seems to be a good indicator that he was innocent of that one, (for the elves I mean) but basically admitting to everything else, and flat out saying that he wanted to kill Ingwion....Mm. Well, I'll be waiting for Monday to find out how this all plays out!

Author Reply: Hi AzureSkye. At least you only have to wait until Monday. *grin* And yes, Namo has survived worse and we'll see how he handles having a sword thrust in him in the next chapter. Ingwion, of course, will be shocked by what he's done. You are right that he may want to kill Ingoldo but he does not wish any others harm, even the Valar.

We will see in the next chapter that Namo was probably keeping tabs on the trial and saw what was coming. As for Ingoldo, we'll see how Ingwe rules on him in the next chapter as well.

Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

About what I expected, Ingwion is still a very disturbed ellon and Ratty didn't help any by answering the way he did. Did Ratty see Ingwion as the less bidable of the Twins and Ingalure as the weaker one, the one more easily controlled?

I found Ingwe was most just in his treatment of Ratty's other folk, this way those who were genuinely coerced into doing Ratty's bidding will be helped to a new life while also being kept under a fairly close watch. Who was it said 'Keep your friends close and your enimies closer.' I think this applies to some extent.

Hm, I wonder how long the 'Treatment' will last, I take it Tulcaner, Ratty's chief leiutanant is one of them?

I see you are still in Evil Cliffee King Mode! Waiting for Friday!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I'm glad you found Ingwe to be just in his treatment of the others. You're probably right about his thinking. These particular ellyn will be closely watched, at least for a time until they've proven themselves. As for the 'treatment', that's anyone's guess. I'm sure it will last as long as necessary and no longer.

And I'm not that evil! You only have to wait until Monday to find out what happens next. LOL!

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.
