Have I told you how much I love this story? I love your writing style in this particular story (I love your other ones too)…

"washing herself by every chance seemed to become a sheer irresistible urge since last year" great detail that show how she feels, sometimes we forget that she was a captive of orcs, even if Tolkien didn't specified what kind torture she suffered, I assume that the orcs did more than a beating to her.

Author Reply: Thank you. :)
Yeah, that's what I assume, too. But I've left it to the imagination to any readers with intention. Sometimes it's better to say less, don't you think?

Author Reply: Sorry - to the imagination of *my* readers was what I meant. Still too sleepy, it seems. *g*

It is a sad fact that at times people are forced to take up arms when they were not ment to do so in the first place. I guess that the kinslayings were dreadful events, for both sides, and that is the reason for Celebrian´s parents not to talk about them. Am so looking forward to the next chapter.

Author Reply: I'm always annoyed when the Teleri of Alqualonde are portrayed as weepy ninnies who let themselves be slaughtered without resistance. No, they did resist - and it brought upon them the horror of kinslaying, too. So, in a way Feanor and his madness slaughtered their souls, too.

The laughter itself is a sign she is healing, I think! Elrond would be glad to hear it, I am certain.

And more of her husband's family history is revealed to her.

Author Reply: Considering that Elrond was related to just about every single important Elf, I assume she still has a lot to learn about relatives. *g*

Yes, Elrond would be glad. None like the Súruli to lift a troubled spirit on a feast.

It would have been an honour to meet the first Legolas. I can understand if Glorfindel is not fond of talking about the fall of Gondolin, who can speak easily of their own death? It is hard enough to speak of the death of others, ones own must be harder still to talk about. But it is also nice to hear Celebrian laughing again, I have the feeling she has not had a good laugh for some time.

Author Reply: The first Legolas was someone who always intrigued me. When this story was first posted to FF.Net, the Silmficcers wanted me to bring back Gimli the blind Elf, too - but that seemed a little too much, even for my creative anachronism. *g*

But if I ever write the Forgotten Realms/Lost Tales x-over, I'll include Gimli (the Elf).

It is getting better with every new chapter, to know all this people from the old legends, wonderful...She laughed, good, maybe healing is starting now.

Author Reply: Thanks. :) Yes, the healing has started, but she still has a long way to go, I'm afraid.

I would love to hear the songs as they go to the home of the Tree People. I am also sure that the feast will be merry indeed, now that all are gathered. Ilverin´s description of Glorfindel made me laugh, I guess he has always been a person who has made others happier when they needed it.

Author Reply: Glorfindel is great, isn't he? One day I might even continue A Tale of Never-Ending Love, which is his very special story. I'd love to portray him as the boisterous warrior in Gondolin.

Actually, I'm also planning to write another Forgotten Realms crossover, with Drizzt Do'Urden ending up in Gondolin and making friends with Glorfindel. It would be soooo much fun to write, had I not dozens of unfinished WIPs already.

It sounds a beautiful celebration! And she digs to the heart of the celebration!

Author Reply: Speak about timing, eh? *g*

Ah--most interesting that Elrond's home was patterned in part from this house, and many of his habits as well.

Author Reply: I don't know where *that* idea came from. Perhaps because it was called the Last Homely House, and what Celebrían really needs is a home, not Finarfin's court.

A delightfully gentle journey for her, I see. And I'd forgotten about the Suruli!

Author Reply: They are neat, aren't they? Even if you can't see them. It would be interesting to know, wat kind of role these 'lesser' spirits would have played, had the Professor not sorted them out of the mythology.

So she begins to see her options presented. Alas the drink doesn't work in Middle Earth. But perhaps she will learn still other options that may work more slowly yet be as effective.

Author Reply: I'm still of two minds whether she should ask for the drink or not. We'll see... hopefully in this Age yet.
