The Letter  by Antane 62 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 15 on 1/10/2010
He is preparing himself for the physical separation to come. Painful, but necessary in the end.

Author Reply: Making as informed a decision as he can. Very painful but with this information hopefully just a tad less.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

“Do you think then I could hear them still if I went West?”

Arwen closed her fingers around Frodo’s hand and brought it up to his heart. “You will always hear it, for it will ever be here.”

What a lovely conversation. Arwen can speak to him of things that no one else can truly understand.

Author Reply: Thanks, my dear! Glad you enjoyed!

Do not discount in your long struggle against that terrible power the thousands of times you said ‘no’ to it with each step and breath you took, and see only that one ‘yes’ which was forced out of you at the end. You were overcome at last by a power far greater than yourself that you had held out against longer than any of us dared hope, far longer than any of those stronger and wiser than you could have. I showed a bit of my power just now to show you that even such a one as I could not have withstood it then and would have fallen far sooner and harder.

That is truly lovely, Antane. What a beautiful and perceptive piece of writing.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, my dear! I hope he will listen and understand the truth in it himself. So glad you enjoyed!

A wonderful reassurance to our Frodo. He needs that so.

Author Reply: Le hannon! He does indeed and I think, maybe, he's listening or at least considering. We shall see. And then there's the lingering Ring-lust that is still poisoning him.

Being prepared for the journey ahead isn't always easy on those who must remain--speaking from experience....

Pippin is such a dear. Such an almost-adult but still-tween!

Author Reply: He's a lot of fun to write because of that! And he talks just as fast as I do. :) *hugs him*

This chapter is awash in peace and joy, and beautifully highlights the compassion of those who try to ease distress wherever they find it, no matter how small the being who is suffering. I wish everyone in 'our' world could remember to do that.

Author Reply: Thank you, my dear! I've been wanting to do a Frodo and Este and Nienna story for a long time and finally the muse cooperated with the former! :) Glad you enjoyed! :)

It had been so long since we had any light.

Oh, dear Frodo. Dear Sam. You give us such a clear vision of Frodo's heart and soul, and the love and compassion of those who surround him.

Author Reply: Thank you, my dear! *hugs* I'm so glad you approve - that is heartening to me! :)

And why does he need that sword, I wonder? Love the love expressed.
