:) ...Hi...I'm back.

I have been reeeaalllly busy lately, so please forgive me! But It was the first story I read when I had the time! :)

I almost forgot that the sun could actually come out, they had been running around in the dark for so long.

Anyway. Legolas, stop worrying so much about Aragorn and sit STILL. He is coming to you. And it won't be of much help in any circumstance if you puncture your lungs. Not to mention I'm a little scared that you could have been poisoned. So just stop moving.

Aragorn, HURRY UP!

If the snake sees Legolas again, well, what with the state he's in, they will be IN VERY BIG TROUBLE. AGAIN. Incidentally, I can't see that the horses will be much help now either. It would be very dangerous for Legolas to bounce around on one of them at this time.

So, how do they get out of this one? :)

Author Reply: Good to hear from you. Thank you for coming back and reading this.

I know they were happy to see the sun. (It's been raining for so long where I live, I'd love to see the sun again, as well.)

Legolas doesn't know if Aragorn is able to come after him. Also, he's afraid to stay put and risk the snake finding him.

I think VERY BIG TROUBLE is an understatement should the snake find Legolas again. Can you say DINNER? Not only would horse-bouncing be bad, though it would be preferable to being eaten, but I don't think the horses could even reach our guys at the moment.

That's the million dollar question. We'll have to wait and see. :O)

Hopefully it is mistaken about "dinner waiting." I hope it is a good long time before it eats again--how about never? Heh!

Author Reply: I think It may be mistaken, since Legolas is on the move, though not very fast and probably not very far. Oh yes. I like that idea very much. Now, if only the snake will cooperate.

really enjoyed the chapter (sorry I haven't reviewed in, like, ages!).
I'm feeling like something is gonna happen in the next chapter- like an attempted rescue? At any rate, I look forward to seeing what comes next!

Author Reply: I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Don't worry about not reviewing for a while. I'm glad you're back.

I think you may be right. Whether it's successful or not remains to be seen.

Ai! Poor Legolas. :'( Be safe, Aragorn!

Author Reply: Poor Legolas indeed. We'll have to see how safe Aragorn turns out to be.

oooooooh.......snap.

THEY'RE ALL GONNA DIE, THEY'RE ALL GONNA DIE, THEY'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!

Actually, that should be "they're both gonna die." Well maybe not. After all, the elf might taste good, but the ranger...who knows how long ago he took a bath, might give It indigestion. Also, I can't see It delicately removing arrows, swords, and knives from quivers and scabbards before dinner and somehow I think those might cause the snake at least a little pain. Who knows? Maybe they're all gonna die anyway.

Okay, sorry, that was weird.

So Aragorn was travelling away from Legolas, who is lying incapacitated. It has spotted Aragorn. Not looking good here. Could use a little estel and luck. And maybe something more, like an identical twin or two, a wizard, or SOMETHING! HELP! Snake at twelve o'clock! :)

Author Reply: Yipes. I hope you are wrong. The ranger would certainly be a little gritty, however, snakes don't chew their food, so that wouldn't be a problem for It. Having all the weapons sticking out at odd angles definitely would be unpleasant going down.

We don't know yet if Aragorn has really been spotted. Let's hope not. The trouble with outside rescue is that no one knows where they are. One of the Palantíri would be helpful right about now.

Ah, but it is looking bad for our intrepid pair, and particularly with Legolas suffering from snake bite! Now, for Aragorn to rescue him!

Author Reply: Alas, it often looks bad for them at one time or another. Ouch. Just saying that sounds painful, doesn't it? If our dear ranger can do that without getting himself in a similar bind, that would be nice. :o)

I'm baaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And am reading this chapter over and over and loving it!!!

Where to begin?

The logic of Legolas and Aragorn is amazing!
“Then I suggest you quit wanting to go where there are things that wish to do that to us,”
“And just how was I supposed to know there was a giant snake under that tower?”
“Because, dear ranger, you wanted to go there.” :)
and
"Where is the cave?"
"What cave?"
“We always find a cave when we’re in need of one.” “Well, we’re sure in need of one now. So, where is it?” lol!

Also liked the reference to the troll fiasco! :)

I'm a little worried about Legolas here. Not that he'll die or anything*, but he may end up with some injuries. And if I know Aragorn, he won't escape lightly either.

*unless you have some evil, dastardly AU plan in the works... :\

Oh, dear--out of the frying pan and into the fire, apparently. At least the snake's inexperience is helping them at the moment.

Now, what's become of Legolas?

Author Reply: Well said. It looks that way, doesn't it? I'm sure L & A are happy for any kind of break.

We'll find that out in the next chapter. :o)

The serpent is a persistent thing! Heh! Poor trees!

Author Reply: How right you are. I agree, poor trees. I hated writing that part.

Ai, VAlAR! :O lol

Author Reply: That's my reaction, too. :o)
