omg...poor guys can't catch a break! Damn the snow!! Hopefully they'll be able to get out of this one :) Merry Christmas to you too!

Author Reply: Yes, I have to agree with you. And, I have a feeling that snow is not going to be a mixed blessing. We can only offer the guys our best wishes. Hope you had a good Christmas.

just rereading the story while waiting for the next chapter...love it every time!

and by the way, i for one would have loved to watch elrond's hair curl, lol! that'd be a sight! :)

Author Reply: Wow. What a compliment. Thanks.

If you remember, Elrond's hair was curled at Aragorn's coronation, and it looked awful. :o)

hey, at least they didn't have to run anywhere in this chapter...

lol it would be cave! (even if it is a sorry excuse of one, Aragorn)

not that i feel bad for the snake or anything, but to think of a knife in one's tongue, ow...and i thought biting my tongue was painful

if only Aragorn had just stuck his sword down It's throat, i mean, how else are they going to kill it? hmmm...

Author Reply: Right. They were able to get a little rest.

I guess that little cave is better than nothing, and Aragorn didn't have much of a choice.

Biting one's tongue is very painful, but I can't scare up much sympathy for that snake, considering all It's done to our guys. I know It's just doing what snake's do, but It doesn't have to be so relentless about it.

Who says the snake will get killed? :o)

It's a matter of time before they find a way to get past the snake and to their horses and safety--ane hopefully new supplies. But at least Legolas is capable of awakening and bantering--always a good sign.

Author Reply: It may be a matter of time, but time is slowing down for them, at least in their minds, I'm sure. It seems that no matter the situation, they can't help the humor that often creeps into their conversations.

eewwwwwww. It licked him! ick ick ick. Snakes don't normally freak me out, but a big snake chasing me around, biting at me and LICKING me is just disgusting. ick. ;)

Yay Aragorn! Snake got a little too close that time! :) But...still in cave, snake planning who knows what, Legolas in very bad shape. Lots of fun coming up!

Author Reply: Yes, it most certainly did. I was grimacing while I wrote that part. I think it's safe to say that Aragorn probably feels exactly the same way.

You summed that up pretty nicely. I do believe I see some 'fun' heading in our direction.

Next time he might try for the eye, I suppose.

Good planning. Now to do what he can for Legolas.

Author Reply: I think he just reacted. The tongue was the offending object, so it got the knife.

I agree on both counts. The elf definitely needs tending to.

What a narrow escape! And I'm not punning on the size of the cave entrance!

The slimy tongue would have freaked me out. Thank Eru that Aragorn is braver.

Author Reply: Well, hello. I haven't heard from you in a long time. Welcome back.

It was a narrow escape. Punning is acceptable, since it's true both literally and figuratively.

Yuck. That slimy tongue would have definitely freaked me out, as well. Luckily, Aragorn is braver than both of us.

O.o

...oops...

...um...

...little help, please? someone? it looks like they'll be dinner this time. and there i got all excited that they were together again. :(

...please don't kill them...surely legolas has suffered enough today

p.s. decaying stuff on the snake's teeth...ew

Author Reply: I think our guys are alone, no help coming. Unless, of course, you consider the author help. :o) Excitement comes in many forms, good and bad, but they are together, which has to be a good thing.

Legolas probably has suffered enough, but that may not make a difference. We'll have to see how it goes.

I thought of Kimodo dragons when I wrote that part, because their saliva is septic due to diet and not from venom. Ew is right.

Good--Ranger and Elf connect, and Ranger bids fair to escape with wounded friend. Now, to make certain the snake doesn't capture them again!

Author Reply: Finally. That's the plan, but when have you known those two to have a plan work out the way they originally hope it will? It may take several plans, since I'm sure my plot bunny has plans of his own.

Oh, dear--can they meet, now? Aragorn is doing his bit, but Legolas is unwittingly moving away from him? At least the snake's poisin doesn't appear particularly potent.

Author Reply: Good question. Poor Legolas doesn't know Aragorn is coming. I think he just wants to get away from where the snake left him, in case it comes back. Legolas will wonder about that, too, I bet. ;O)
