Dreamflower, your poems are great! Perfect use of language and of the dribble format! "Silvertine"! I had nearly forgotten about that name. In German it is "Silberzinne", which shows how close together our languages are. BTW, it was only yesterday when I thought about Middle Earth names or places with "Z". And "Zirakzigil" was the only one I could think of ;-) Author Reply: I just realized that I had never replied to this! I apologize for being so late! Yes, you know, I checked the indexes, and it really *is* the only "Z" name I found!

There aren't enough stories, in my opinion, that make use of the connection between Faramir Took and Faramir of Ithilien. This is a fine example of the benefits of the friendship between Steward and Thain; and I love stories with animals in them. Minor quibble - Faramir shouldn't have had to send to Dol Amroth for a pony, I would think that his wife would breed them as well as horses. But that's just me and my own vision of Fourth Age Ithilien. Loved Orome the Pony, of course! Fam will have a lot of fun with him, both seemingly high-spirited young fellows. And "Peridoc" is a great name for Merry's son. Author Reply: It always seemed to me that Faramir of Ithilien would take an especial interest in his small namesake, and that this would work itself out in letters and perhaps special gifts on major occasions. Having the pony come from Dol Amroth was a nod in part to my own "fanon"--one of Pippin's first gifts from Aragorn *after* returning to the Shire was a Dol Amroth pony named Sable--and it was sort of in the back of my mind that Orome might have some bloodline connection to that pony. I'm glad you like the name; it always seemed rather likely to me.

Awww; Yavanna succumbs to Hobbit cuteness - a wonderful response to the Y prompt. Congratulations for taking on the entire Alphabet Challenge, btw! Author Reply: How can *anyone* resist hobbit-cuteness (except for Orcs and ruffians, of course)? It was hard. Some of the prompts I thought were deliberately difficult. I confess, however that I didn't do the special character prompts at the end. I had some things going on in RL that prevented it. But I was determined to get at least the whole *regular* alphabet, no matter what!

Lovely poem; I particularly liked the last two lines - simple but very eloquent. Author Reply: Oh, I am glad! The last three lines were the most difficult to write, trying to get the word count on each down to 3-2-1 was *hard*! I'm glad it worked!

I've always loved Radagast's character - probably because he is in tune with Nature and wild animals. I've often felt that his task was to help heal the damage done by Sauron, and this was a wonderful moment - one I'd love to see you expand on some day *hint, hint* Author Reply: That's the same thing I've often thought about him--Yavanna *had* to have had a special reason for choosing him--and I don't think he was a "failure" in the sense that the blue wizards or Saruman were. Jodancingtree has already expanded wonderfully on Radagast's character--have you ever read "Following the Other Wizard"?

Aaawwww! That is so cute - they are charming, aren't they? Children of Yavanna, most definitely. I don't know how you do it, Dreamflower. You have risen to these challenges with incredible skill. Author Reply: Thank you! I love challenges--they make me have to stretch for things I wouldn't otherwise try.

Yes, if they have a special Vala for their patronage, for Hobbits it must be Yavanna; and I certainly agree that they are charming. Author Reply: I am quite sure of it myself! They seem so in tune with the things that are important to her. And as for charm, well, we know all about that--they've certainly charmed *us*, haven't they? ;-)

Hehehehe wee new hobbity creatures :-) :-) This is cute, and I like that a Valar can catch yawning :-) Author Reply: They are quite new in this! And yawning is the kind of thing that is contagious for *anybody*, LOL!
