The Aftermath  by Elanor Silmariën 48 Review(s)
harrowcatReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/15/2006
This is coming on nicely Elanor. The bond between Sam and Frodo has changed and they both recognise it but it is Frodo that is able to look further ahead.

Btw - small niggle - the door on a tent is often called a flap and it is very hard to knock on. But it is only a very small niggle. *g*

Author Reply: *blushes again* *looks down at Larner's review* Erm, yeah, I forgot that. *rushes off to change it* Glad you liked it anyhow!
God bless,
Ellie

Okay--they have a door to the tent to knock upon? Now, that is one small glitch in an otherwise lovely story. I'm always glad when they awaken and each realizes the other is still alive.

Author Reply: *blushes* I am so very absentminded sometimes! I forgot it was a tent!!! *rolls eyes and laughs at self* When I have a moment, I shall go fix that... I'm glad you liked it otherwise!
God bless,
Ellie

“I’m just so happy to see you smile again. I didn’t think I’d ever see that again.”

I am my own once more.

Eeee, how healing and wonderful this is!

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it!
God bless,
Ellie

AntaneReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/9/2006
"It won’t be much longer, he doesn’t like being too far behind you."

No, not far at all and so it should be. This is wonderful to see another story starting that I hope will be awash in hobbity love like The Latter Days. You are off to good start with Sam taking Frodo's hand. I also like that Frodo is aware he grieved Aragorn by fighting the healer-king's efforts to bring him back. That was interesting. It was a cute quote from ROTK that you put in there. Too bad that teasing joy couldn't have lasted.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you! Yes, there is plenty of hobbity love coming up (just the way we like it!) I'm so glad you liked this scene! Glad you liked the quote too. Do you think they are working? I'm not sure if I have too many quotes in there, but that's the only way I could think of doing it. Thanks for reviewing!
GOd bless,
Ellie

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/6/2006
Yes, the realization he is alive as he wakens must be almost a shock.

Author Reply: yes, I've always thought so, and I've read a few other fics that played it that way, so between that, the scene just kind of came out like that. Thanks for reviewing!
God bless,
Ellie

Arwen of LorienReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/6/2006
Yeah! *Is happy*
I am glad to be getting back to reading your stories on SOA! Things have been
very busy around Lorien.
But know I can read more, and I am very glad! I just finished reading Phantom of the Opera, it was good! As was this story, my dear hobbit! I had once made a scribbling of this same scene, though it didn't quite work out.
But yours was wonderful! Hobbit happiness is so contagious! *Goes of bounceing
to read next story*
God bless ~Arwen

Author Reply: Hello! I do hope things get less busy in Lorien. Right now the Shire isn't that busy, and I miss seeing you and Goldie around all the time! Oh, I have got to finish that book soon. Probably after I finish responding to all these lovely reviews! I'm so glad you liked this! I'm sure your scene wasn't that bad. *hinting--can I read it???* Talk to you later, Mellon nin!
God bless,
Ellie

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/6/2006
Oh, I like this beginning! Wow, you've undertaken a task, Ellie! But I know it will be great. I really love the opening and that Aragorn was there with Frodo when he woke. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Lol! I seem to get myself into these predicaments alot, don't I? And I'm not even done with my other long story yet! *is scared* I'm glad you liked it, mellon nin! I've always wanted Aragorn to be there when he awoke.
God bless,
Ellie

Oh YAY! I love Ithilien stories such as this.
Poor Aragorn he seems just a bit at a lost of just what to do at his emotions. And I'd of bet,if Frodo wouldn't of gotten hurt by doing so, he would of hugged and squeezed him till he was as thin as paper...lol
AWWWW but it's so sweet, I love all the relationships with the fellowship, they are so heartwarming.

Poor Frodo, it's a good thing that death wasn't the only way out *whew*.

BTW are you going to go into detail about events between the "Eagles", and the "Waking up in Ithilien" bit?

I really loved this first chapter. Oh!I love that it is told in Frodo's POV.
update again real soon.

lots of love
No galu govad gen

Author Reply: Wow, thanks for your enthusiasm, Katie! I've been dying to write an Ithilien scene for a while. I really enjoyed it. I'm so glad you liked it! I will be updating as soon as I get the next chapter typed! I think I will go into a little detail about that, but I'm not sure yet how, and I'm not sure yet what. Once I get that figured out, I'll be sure to add some in for you and Antane.
God bless,
Ellie
