I love the "Hobbit" poetry! LOL Very clever of you.

This is a very intense story, it makes me feel short of breath!

Author Reply: I loved it too - had such fun trying to find a 'poetic style' that sounded Elvish! And wasn't our intrepid Elf brilliant to 'hide' his mistake!

Oh, I'm SO glad these four at least are still alive. And the Hands of the King will aid them all, now that Listowel has found her mistress and is bringing her back to the cave.

Lovely!

Author Reply: Indeed - it seems that Aragorn will have the chance to try to heal these dear souls who have struggled so abysmally. Can you imagine if he did not come to them? If they had had to make the ENTIRE trip to Rivendell? Phew!!!

Thanks for reading!

The North is a big place indeed! She has no idea how far she is from where the healer of the north abides.

Author Reply: Poor Indis - she has an idea, but her guilt over Boromir's death and her fear that Faramir might follow him cause her to vow to go to the ends of the earth to save him!

This is a angsty tale indeed! One bad thing befalling these folk after another. It's tiring me out - let alone what it's doing to them!

Author Reply: Think of the poor author, Pearl!!! And then the characters go off and do things that I never intended!

This is getting interesting indeed - what if all three are bewitched?

"You spend too much time trying to hide things from me," the boy said quietly. "I am old enough to have seen one I love murdered before my very eyes. I am old enough to have taken vows and kept them. I am old enough to gain some respect at least."

Well said!!

Author Reply: That is truly the question, Pearl - who is affected? *shivers*

Also - I love writing the young boy hero's in this tale - Targon, Boromir (sobs), Theodred....

Poor Aragorn! It is good he has his wise brothers with him.

Eeek! Who touched Indis?

Author Reply: I do so love Elrohir and Elladan - I started reading them awhile ago in someone's tale (drat I hate when I can't remember who's) - but they are indeed good friends/brothers to Aragorn.

As for Indis - difficult times! Geez!

That wretched Saruman!! He has put a spell on Aragorn!

I hope their journey with Faramir isn't too difficult.

Author Reply: Oh Pearl - hang onto your hat - ANY trip through Gondor during these dark days is difficult!

And it seems to be a spell - but is it only Aragorn that is affected???

Ah! She seeks the legendary Elrond Half Elven. Excellent!

And Saruman gave me the chills. You write him well!

Author Reply: Oh - I got chills just thinking of this chapter, Pearl. Saruman is definitely an evil little snot - I have him even worse in 10,000 Years - I kind of like writing this particular wizard!

She's not sure who it is who lives up north - but she's gonna find him if it kills her!

This is indeed a subject that gets wrestled with. I so believe there can be honor, a glory, to death in battle. I'm not sure all who go to war feel it. And, of course it can be twisted, like with the suicide bombers. But, there is an honor in falling while trying to save another.

A very insightful chapter!

Author Reply: I very much like Eomund - it just developed. And for some reason, I am truly enjoying the young boys in the story. They give me hope as I write.

As for battle glory... I myself am prone to do things that ensure the adrenalin will flow! Get into trouble way too many times because of it. I'm not sure about battle glory - though Tolkien definitely has the Rohirrim living with that hope... if one can call it hope.

Honour is such a strange thing for grown-ups to try to figure out - never mind 13 year olds!

Thanks for reading!

Sad and sorrow-filled dreams. It is a long, hard fight these folk all have ahead of them.

This is pulling me in more than I anticipated, Agape, as I usually only read hobbit stories. This is very well written!!

Author Reply: Sorry you got 'pulled in' Pearl - but you've done the same to me with your Hobbitty stories! LOL What goesa around comes around.

As for the dreams, Tolkien really used them in much of his writings so I wasn't too worried (as I was with the ghosts in Steward and Thain) to use them, an liberally.

Thanks for reading!
