OH NO!!! Don't you hurt my Pippin! I believe that actually puts the dear in a more dangerous postition!! Oh, do be careful for him! Or I will come after those dirty, bloody orcs with a vengence only cousins can have! And Hannon le for saving Merry in time. :) That at least, is a relief. :) Namarie!
Yours,
Frodo Baggins

Author Reply: Frodo Baggins, I have this mental picture of your flinging yourself in front of Pippin and holding off those orcs. It must be the Took in you coming out. :)

Okay, head count. Frodo is sort of going to be safe...I hope...right? Merry is rescued (I love it!) Sam is with frodo, and Pippin is in the worst position possible. They've discovered him now, and now they have no use for him. Of course, when did that stop Orcs from tormenting their prey? I can only hope that someone will see the rope, or that the Orcs will start fighting again before they've hurt Pippin too badly to escape, and he'll get away. *tears* Oh, our poor, sweet Pippin! Please help him soon! Please!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Your Majesty, you have been so kind with your comments that I am going to do something I rarely do ... and only for special people. You get a spoiler.

I can only hope that someone will see the rope, or that the Orcs will start fighting again before they've hurt Pippin...

No.

(hugs you)

I feel breathless. The Twins arriving in the nick of time and now the ors with no real reason to spare Pippin.

This is a very tightly written suspense story. Wonderfully done, Budgie!!

Author Reply: Pearl, you always have been and again are so generous. Thank you.

Aw, I feel so sorry for Pippin cant you save him soon?(snicker)but then the story wouldnt be so good and it would be over so please keep up the torture and angst!!!!! at least for a little while anyway, we know he'll be in one piece in the end(wont he?) LOL :)

Author Reply: You sound a little conflicted there, Elflingimp. I can just imagine the horror on our sweet Pippin's face reading your comment... ;)

Oooh! Relief for Merry and even more fear for Pippin!

Author Reply: The swinging of the pendalum ... (Did you ever read Edgar Allan Poe's "The Pit and the Pendalum?" That story and his "The Beating Heart" had an enormous influence on my writing ... after I got over the nightmares.)

Oops.

Poor Pippin. After all he had done, to have his ruse detected!

But--but maybe it's a good thing in a way--if it's really Frodo they need, then they won't be wanting to leave so quickly. But--then they also will be wanting to torture Pippin all the sooner.

Merry's rescuers were a surprise to me! I truly thought it would be Legolas and Gimli, but then when he thought the "two voices were as one" it dawned on me who it might be. I love Elladan and Elrohir's saving Merry. And Merry's reactions were perfect--he's so fierce! I adore fierce Merry!

Best of all, they have a live bad guy for Aragorn to question. Like to see him *try* lying to the King!

And poor Frodo. I haven't forgotten him either...

Author Reply: Good for you, Dreamflower, picking up on that hint before 'the reveal' as they say in the movie business. Coming from a background of 'frontier justice' (growing up in pioneer Alaska), I think the best way of getting information from this villian is to lock him in a room with Merry. He'd be screaming out information in thirty seconds. Of course, I suppose Aragorn will be civilized about it...

Dude! Too cruel! You can't leave it there!!! Well, ok, you *can* because you obviously have. :P

Anyway, thank goodness the twins showed up when they did and I love that the man is afraid of Merry just as much as the elves. And now Pippin is found out as not being Frodo. I fear what they'll do to him now, knowing that he tricked them. It would be too good to hope that they'll let him go.

Nyah, nyah nyah nyah Nyaaah, nyah!

Author Reply: By which we may infer that Larner has finally been driven over the edge? *grins*

Love the warrior-horse!

Aragorn told us where there is shouting and swearing, there is usually a hobbit.
*snork*

Chilling orcs... poor Pippin. (Did you ever read "A Took By Any Other Name", per chance, or are we merely on the same frequency? Tenderising their meat, indeed...)

and now his ruse is discovered. They have no use for him now! (or do they?)

Author Reply: *snork* yourself - I think we share the same sort of humor, Lindelea. Heaven help us. Or perhaps our poor readers...

I haven't yet read "A Took By Any Other Name," yet but it is on my list. I have made a solemn vow not to start the next long-form story (torturing the hobbits and the Fellowship on Caradhras) until I catch up on my fanfiction. I've found I can write or beta or read, enjoy, and review, but doing two of these activities at once is beyond me. Is that the sign of limited intellectual abilities or simply intense focus?
