Oooohhh... and how I'm looking forward to the rest of this story! This is more than intrigueing, and it was certainly worth the time we spent waiting for your tale!

Oh, v. interesting! Some hobbits are a bit catlike in their curiosity, I guess!

*claps hands*

I hadn't thought about the towers being alike, but it makes sense. Rather disconcerting after the eastern one had fallen to the enemy to think that its strengths and weaknesses would be clear to the other side.

Stubborn Baggins, does he really know what he's doing?
No-one knows what really happened at Cirith Ungol, and sometimes it's better not to know everything!
However, this time Frodo will be not alone. Particularly Sam will not leave his side and that's good!
I'm curious to know what will happen next - and a little frightened, I must admit.

What a lovely surprise to find a new story from you and this one promises to be really exciting and feature all my favourite characters !

Ok. You have me hooked! I cannot believe that Frodo would want to go back there. It can not lead to any good as I see it. Just from his reaction to seeing the guardroom is enough for me to cheer Sam on in convincing Frodo not to go. But, knowing the stubborness of the Baggins', I know that Frodo will go whether Sam wants it or not.

I will be waiting for the next chapter! Email me please?

Agh! This has potential to be a very angsty story, at least so far. I'm with Sam, just at the moment -- I can't imagne what good it will do Frodo to go back up there, and I know that Sam's going to reach a certain point on the pass and be sick as a dog with the memory of the aftermath of the battle with Shelob.

So of course you know I'll be waiting for each chapter with bated breath!

Keep going!

Gracious, where to start?

Wonderful light hobbity interactions at the beginning - I loved that Frodo's still capable of bluffing his young mischievous cousin at cards.

Interesting that Pippin's able to sense the presence of the Palantir.

Poor Frodo having flashbacks to what he can't quite remember.

Just wonderful, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more!

At last! Ah -- you have no idea how glad I am to see this story finally appear. And I'm already hooked, intrigued and eagerly waiting for more.

That moment where Frodo says that the guardroom was the same was chilling. Oh, Frodo! And I just loved it when Sam instantly knew what Frodo was planning to do. Poor Sam -- Frodo just can't be pinned down and protected too much. He will up and away when *he* feels it is right. And I love them both for it.

That was really good! It's been so long since I've read a good LOTR (cannon) story, I can't wait to read more! Could you e-mail me when you update? *bouncing*

Hi, shirebound
A very promising beginning. You get the hobbits exactly right. A question: Are you writing movieverse? I ask because of the point about Pippin lighting the beacons. That's not in Tolkien, where Denethor is a much more competent lord.
