Okay, NOW Panic!  by Boz4PM 13 Review(s)

A very good chapter, Boz! I liked the tension you built up and how in a few knowing looks and words Penny was eased somewhat by Gandalf.

Well done as always :-)

Author Reply: Thank you. :D

And again: Poor Penny. Foreknowledge is really a burden and a strain. It is all fine and good to know things in a theoretical way, but then watching your friends walk blithely into the trouble you know is waiting is something else.

I'm so happy for Penny that she confided in Halladan. Although he probably got more than he bargained for. But this will nicely distract him from his own troubles.

I so hope Halladan and Penny realize they belong together.

Author Reply: My apologies for replying so late to this review! :\

I think you've summed it up nicely re. the foreknowledge and the burden it brings, as well as the double-edged sword Halladan's insisting she share that burden might be for him.

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Eeeep. Sorry this is such a late review.

I really enjoyed this chapter (having read it four times now). I'm glad Halladan is continuing to support Penny. I found Arvain quite amusing teasing Penny, and then Halladan amusing as well when he joined in. Tadion is funny as well.

I really enjoyed the chapter and look forward to more.

Es.

Author Reply: Well, I'm sorry this is an even later reply! *hides*

Thanks for reading and reviewing, and I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. Tadion is a pest and a menace. He tries to muscle in on every chapter and then just writes himself. *glares* ;D

Yes! I let out a cry when I saw chap 50!! So glad you updated.

Well, this chapter was a bit difficult to read, though I understand it.

I really miss the old Penny, but she will come around.....

Don't be sorry about the length of the chapter! The longer the better!

Author Reply: I was worried more about the length of time it had taken me to write it. I've given up apologising over the lengthf of the chapters - that, and (in my mind) it means I get to the end of the story quicker. *lol*

Old Penny still exists, but she is also that much more mature as well as settled within her environment. There will still be moments, but at the moment she has so much to deal with psychologically that it's not really the moment to be so relaxed as to fly off the handle. :)

Glad you liked it and thanks for reading! :D

I loved that little bit with Halladan and Penny sharing the horse. Her reluctance to hold on to Halladan's waist was reminiscent of Penny's first run in with his father, Halbarad. I think she was a bit reluctant to cozy up to Halbarad as well, albeit for different reasons. Really liked that, a nice touch!

Nicely done. The look that Gandalf shot Penny must've been chilling for her.

Arvain is a little pest of a younger brother - still tough to figure out exactly where you're going with Halladan and Penny, but they've at least reached a comfortable place with one another where they trust one another with their secrets. Close friends if nothing else.

Worth the wait (as always).

Author Reply: But he's a very lovable pest, nonetheless. ;D

And thank you - glad you thought so. :D

I'm just glad to see another chapter of this no matter how long the wait. It's nice and long and I can get myself lost in this world again. I love the close relationship between Penny and Halladan and how they look out for each other.

Author Reply: Thank you - both for reading and your comments. :D

Arvain is incorrigible, isn’t he? Now I wonder if he, too, thinks Penny and Halladan would be a wonderful couple, considering how he’s teasing her about her hold on Halladan *grin*

After reading how Penny permanently feared to be asked about what will happen now, I am even more glad she finally confided in Halladan. Her burden will be a bit easier to bear now that she can share it. And if necessary, he can probably give her a bit of counsel.

Hm ... I truly wonder how much Gandalf already knows and how he got to know it. His words, even if adressed more to the Hobbits (though probably meant for Penny as much as for them), have hopefully helped to relieve her of some of her worries.

Oh, and I understand completely why Tadion held the chapter up for so long. He *is* a pain in the backside, no doubt. Hopefully he’s behaving himself better in the future.

After this chapter, I think I’ll have to dig out my Penny-Halladan-banner again *waves banner* It’s so sweet to watch them care for each other! And in spite of the new burden of foreknowledge, Halladan seems more relaxed than in the beginning, at least to me, and that makes him even more loveable.

Merry Christmas, my dear, and a Happy New Year!

Author Reply: Arvain is incorrigible. But then he's a typical younger brother in some respects, and it only goes to show how much Penny is becoming 'part of the family' that he can tease her in much the same way as if she were a sister.

Tadion has been officially dubbed Authorial Menace. *glares at him*

Glad you enjoyed the chapter and thanks for reading! :D

Squeee!!! A new Penny chapter!!! I was so thrilled to sign on tonight and be able to read your latest addition. I'm really hoping that Penny and Halladan will end up together, as they're very good for each other. At any rate, I very much enjoyed this chapter, and am waiting with bated breath for the next. :)

Author Reply: Thank you - glad you enjoyed it. :D

I will not give up on you, Boz. I enjoy Pen-ii's saga too much. Just keep doing as much as you can and it will suffice. I wonder if Pen-ii and Halladan will marry? I am an incurable romantic. *sigh* Well, let's get her past the big 'troubles' in the Shire, first, eh? :)

Author Reply: Yeah, she has a hard road to travel ahead, both literally and figuratively.

Thanks for enjoying, reading and commenting!
