Don't Panic!  by Boz4PM 155 Review(s)

Why him?

Now you have me wondering what other lunatics Halbarad has rescued. Women in distress?

Hal, you really ought to listen to the Elves. Would it kill you to carry a packet of salt in your pack? Salt doesn't weigh all that much and a pinch goes a long way.

you've left me laughing.

Very authentic! And the little "Mary Sue" at the beginning only serves to spotlight the contrast.

Poor Halbarad! (I wonder what he would do if, like "Crocodile Dundee", he were suddenly thrust into the modern world. Why do I fear he wouldn't fare well, probably end up in a straight-jacket in some mental institution?)

Leeches.

Can things get worse?

....

Yes, I think they can!

Author Reply: Oh, indeed they can, and still are doing so in the sequel. I have very evil plans afoot, precious... very evil indeed. *grins*

There is something about Halbarad's ineptness with cuisine that is remarkably amusing. Would it hurt him to carry some seasoning? Except in his masculinity.

Oh I am so pleased to see this! It's absolutely brilliant! I read the whole thing - and as much of the next as is written - when Nilmandra recommended it and it is an absolute delight. Poor Penny. Even poorer Halbarad. He must think he's in the middle of a nightmare. Just as she does, of course.

I look forward to reading this again. I spent far too much time reading it last week and now I can repeat the process rather more slowly.
