Discretion  by Bodkin 12 Review(s)

I saw that you boldly stamped this story "complete." We'll see!

Elrond is right. If Glorfindel apologized, the twins will relent. They're much too fine to torment someone who's said he's sorry.

And Galadriel is right. There's no one like our parents for trotting out stories (and pictures) that make us want to moan and cry.

Author Reply: This is complete. Line drawn. Of course it doesn't mean there can't be a sequel. It occurred to me that Indiscretion would make a good title. Now all it needs is a story!

I think Glorfindel will be encouraged to talk to the twins. On a non-threatening basis - and they will all agree that the water has long since passed under the bridge. Won't stop either side teasing though. They enjoy it too much.

Imagine coming back to your parents after over 6000 years of independence - only to find they're still telling that story about the potty and goldfish. Enough to make you want to set sail again.

Thank you. This was a fun ride - but it is complete. It is.

Glorfindel is still twitchy, isn't he? Every time the twins laugh, he thinks he's the subject. There's more than a touch of vanity there - or paranoia.

I rather liked this exchange: ‘It is not so much the childhood memories,’ Galadriel remarked with detachment, ‘as what might follow them.’

‘Just because your life is an open book, Eärendilion,’ Glorfindel said in a low voice, ‘does not mean that we all wish our past laid bare.’

Hmm. One might almost think the perfect Glorfindel had something to hide! (Oh, look - is that another plot bunny escaping into the undergrowth?)

Author Reply: It was suggested to me (!!!) that Glorfindel might have some stories he was a little more nervous about making public knowledge - and it seemed such a good idea. I don't know what they are though - he wouldn't tell me - just stood with his arms folded looking quizzical. But it would explain why a few tales of his childhood have got him twitchy. I think that for his own peace of mind he needs to come to an agreement with Elladan and Elrohir.

When he thinks about it, he'll know that Galadriel could have revealed much more. Of course, when they think about it, the twins will know that too!

Finished this! Any new inspirations will have to find a sequel somewhere. Thank you for coming along for the ride.
