Discretion  by Bodkin 13 Review(s)

Brilliant from first to last Bodkin! You had me in stitches when the words were finally revealed and to have Gimli do it was perfect.
I loved seeing another side to major characters too. And I like Gimli's possessiveness - his elf indeed! (We all want a share) obviously Legolas hasn't managed to dispel the mistrust between elves and dwarves entirely. Well done.

Author Reply: Thank you. And that beard is very useful for hiding your expression when you don't want the elf to pick up your amusement. Legolas is only Gimli's elf in contrast to all the other flightly creatures who are most definitely NOT his elves, he'll have you know. He can tolerate them - and understand them better than any other dwarf, but Legolas and Aragorn are his brothers-in-arms and that makes them almost family.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Now I comes home on a friday night, has a couple of beers and sits down at the computer, only to waste said beer as it is sprayed over the keyboard while I laugh at the twin footstools.
So sweet your Gimli, and Aragorn had picked up the habit as well. Too funny.
You, my dear, are a genius.
Even without the influence of beer!
Rose

Author Reply: Aragorn - well, little brothers, you know. Bound to pick up words from his big brothers. But Arwen and Gimli will keep a lid on his urge to tell Elladan and Elrohir. (Oh dear. That sounds like another idea. Must. Control. Urge. To. Make. This. Longer.)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! (Although I'm not sure the keyboard will have done!)

Author Reply: I am afraid your review makes you directly responsible for the latest part!

Oh, goodness--they've infected ARAGORN with it, too! Oh, this is WAY too much! Yes, Gimli, do let Aragorn know what his brothers are saying, and teach him a nice, proper phrase to use instead! And, of course Gimli's Elf won't be learning such foolishness and making a fool of himself in front of Dain and Gloin and the rest! Harharhar, hehehehehehehehehe!

Author Reply: Well - Aragorn is their little brother. Of course, he spent his childhood following them around and copying their mannerisms - and their language. Even if they try to hide their dwarven cussing, he's bound to have picked it up. But I think he will be giving it up soon!

Gimli certainly wouldn't want Legolas to embarrass either Gimli or himself by coming out with - er - inappropriate remarks in front of the dwarf elders. And Aragorn is his brother in arms. The twins, on the other hand, well - they're not his problem. Why spoil the joke?

Thank you - one more bit here.
