In Shadow Realm  by Legolass 280 Review(s)

Ok quick hello today, I'm supposed to be paying attention to a power point presentation in what has to be the absolute most boringest(is that a word?) meeting in all of Arda. Great chapter as always. You would think by now Estel and Legolass would start to pay attention to those funny feelings when they get them. It was great seeing everyone together, even the twins (my personal favorites) Such love comes shining through in your words, why do I have my own sneaky feeling that this is just the provebial quiet before the storm...Oops gotta go, I think I'm supposed to answer a question.

Wishing for a balrog to swallow me now,

Your fan

Eliza

Oh Eliza - what an amusing vision you provided me with!! I hope you didn't get into trouble. :-D I wish I could have conjured up a balrog for you!

You like the twins? I think there will be more of them before the story is through...

Thanks for dropping in - ALWAYS good to hear from you.

I was just thinking about your story and here comes the next chapter. I guess I will have to think of it more often if that helps updates come quicker! I loved all the tenderness shown between characters in this chapter. They all love each other very much. Is Aragorn being haunted by evil creatures? Something is lurking in his mind. We will have to enjoy the peace of this chapter as I'm sure pretty soon there will be very little peace to be had. Is that right?

Now, WHY would you think that, Nessa? :-D Lol!

Yes, there is much love among them all - especially the members of the Fellowship - and (in my stories) especially Aragorn and Legolas. :-)

Thanks for your response.

*plunges headlong into story with a big splash* How can anyone expect me to cook a meal when I just found an update from you in my inbox? Really, isn't it perfectly understandable that something like that is much more important than *eating*? ;-)

LOL! I just found the answer in your story: I'm obviously surrounded by hobbits! :D

"radiant as the sun and light as the late spring breeze" - that's beautiful... *sigh*

"It was a heartwarming scene, this reunion of several races from different parts of Middle-earth: a blend of various colors on a single canvas, complementing each other to paint a picture of peace... " I love this sentence!

And I love how you describe the subtle interaction between Aragorn and Legolas... and all the references to "For the Love of the Lord of the White Tree".

“And till that day, Estel – there is no better place to be.” *sighs and melts into happily smiling puddle on the floor*

Do I have to say that I loved this chapter?! ;-) I will wait patiently for the next update...

Almut

P.S. The summary does not remind me of Ovid any longer. ;-)

Hey! I always love reviews from you! So... did you get to eat after all that? After you solidified back from your puddle state, that is!

I thought you might like this chapter - we both love those two, don't we? I'm glad you'll wait patiently for the next chapter, because I think you will have to. :-)

Thanks so much for reviewing.

p.s. So you prefer this summary?

Well met again Legolass,
Welcome back. I see our old friends are up to some thing again hummm. Now this is intriguing. Great opening chapter, very nice to see a large collection of characters about. I'm always happy to see Thranduil visiting (or maybe he hasn't recovered from Estel and Legolas's last adventure.) As always your writing is excellent, I can certainly picture the party scene in my mind. Now who is after these two now? I think we're going to have to lock them up for a while.
Until the next post,

Your friend,

Eliza

Mae govannen, Eliza! It IS always good to hear from old friends.
And that is why I wanted to give the Fellowship and other characters a chance to meet in celebration..... before the angst starts :-)

You want to lock the creepy ones up for a while? I dont; think they're going to be too happpy about that. Let's see what happens - my mind is wondering the same thing - still trying to work out some kinks. :-)

TIll next time - thank you very much for dropping in.

Wow, this new story certainly got off to a cracking start! Can you see me jumping up and down with glee? I do love your writing style and I'm so glad you're sharing your talent with us again.

How sweet was it to hear Elanor praising Gimli's fireworks? That was adorable and so like Gimli to provide such entertainment.

I'm very intrigued by all the mysterious words concerning Aragorn.Who is out for revenge and why? Ahh, angst is on its way!I love it when our heroes are in danger :D

Aragorn and Legolas' words to each other were very touching and I love how their friendship is at the core of your stories. Can't wait for the next update!

Take care.

Ali.

Hi, Ali! Lovely to hear from you again. GLad you liked that little comment from Elanor; I thought that of all the people who could provide wonderful fireworks, Gimli had to be the one to do it best. :-)

Yes, angst or not - Aragorn and Legolas' friendship will always be at the core of my stories, for as long as I can help it. And I'm delighted that you like that.

Thanks for dropping in. Really good to hear from you. And no, I can't see you jumping up and down, but I can feel the vibrations!

Wow, you just hit the ground running with your writing. As you know, I always love your depiction of Legolas and Aragorn's friendship and this fic is no exception. I eagerly await more.

Shaan Lien!! It's wonderful to hear from you again!
The last time I did it was via email and you sounded so busy I wondered if you would ever read fanfic again, though i know you are writing it.

Hey I'm swamped with work too, but this idea kept running around in my head and I had to open the door and let it out...

Speaking of running... what a way to put it: 'you just hit the ground running with your writing'! lol - thanks!

How are YOU? More on email when you have time perhaps?
Thanks so much for dropping in.

I am so glad you started a new story. For the Love of the Lord of the White Tree is one of my favorite stories. I anticipate Shadow Realm to be right up there with it.

You have tweeked my curiosity with the contrast between happy sun lite times and the hidden evil waiting.

Thank you for your gift.

Robin

What a nice surprise to find a new story from you in my mail box alert.I decided to read it here rather that on the other site, now that I post here too.
I love the sense of mystery and impending trouble to come. You have a wonderful way of using Tolkien like language.I eagerly await more.

You are welcome anywhere, Linda. :-)
I hope I can build this story so that I don't disappoint the readers - and Tolkien and the characters.

Thank you very much for your support and compliment.

Another story, and it begins with such an ominous undercurrent.
"...the lament of unearthly voices, rising and falling in eerie cadences, now angry, now despairing, whispered tortuously in dark recesses, to swell and push against their unyielding confines – till even the rock walls of their prison quivered and trembled in torment."
Nicely put. Tormented, angry spirits apparently bent on revenge against Aragorn, but for what? And how will they carry out their vengeance? I will try to be patient. I really will. ~TF

Author Reply:

Oh good, if you find it ominous! :-)

I'm not so sure the spirits are bent on vengeance... but you and I will find out eventually, won't we? ;-)

Great to hear from you again, TF. Thank you very much for your support.
And yes - patience is a virtue. Gotta tell myself that too!

A new story!!! *beams happily, runs off, rummages noisily through kitchen and bathroom and comes back with sweets and tissues* No I'm ready! Hehe.

Hmm. I wonder if "The Twice Forgotten" and the "Shadow Realm" have something to do with the Paths of the Dead?! This sounds very interesting if not exactly calming. ;-)

I love reunions! It is really nice to see all those hobbits and elves and men and the dwarf again! And I loved this moment between Aragorn and Legolas - the greatest gift of all, indeed. *smiles* Though I'm quite sure all this peace will not last long... Your summary reminds me a bit of Ovid, more specifically "Orpheus and Eurydike". *looks thoughtful* Now I'm eager to see what happens next.

It's really nice to have you back so soon! *hugs* And I'll wait (expectantly) all the time it takes for any new chapter!

Author Reply:

No, no need for tissues yet, dear Almut! But enjoy your sweets. :-)

I changed the summary a little - does it still sound like Ovid? (But I didn't change it because of that, lol).

Has the story something to do with the PoD? We will find out eventually, won't we? ;-)

So nice to have you back too, SmilingDragonGirl - you crazy, lovable nut! And yes - like I said to another reviewer - patience is a virtue. I'm saying it mainly coz it will take me time to update, see?
