In Shadow Realm  by Legolass 280 Review(s)

Hello Legolass,

Thank you for that tender scene between Thranduil & Legolas AND the scene with the elves arguing (Gimili was right, some one needs to yell once or twice) I enjoy seeing how Leggy develops with other characters. Although I do think I'm ready to grab my elf by his ears & give him a good shake for being so stubborn & not just staying firmly on dry land. Please tell him I said he's immortal not invincible (I think it's the mom gene in me, I hate to see my kids hurting, even if they are adults). Definitely like the happy chapters especially since I know the angst is on the way...

Until next time,

Eliza

You're welcome to those scenes, Eliza, and yes mama, I understand how you feel about hurting kids - I'm a mama too, but gotta get some angst into the stories :-p

You're right - angst is on the way. Great to hear from you again - thank you!(and I trust you were not in the midst of a PP presentation this time? lol)

We reviewers never give up hoping and waiting - like hungry hounds we sit at your feet with sorrowful and pleading eyes - more please! Then we lap up the offering with glee and enjoyment and immediately start looking and hoping for more! Great stuff Legolass the suspense is killing me!

*delighted squeal* Getting these review alerts always feels like Christmas... ;-)

"Learn to run faster"! *giggle* I wonder if that will help...?! *cough* Methinks he will have to run very far and fast to escape all those enthusiastic fanfic writers who are after him... :D Thranduil and Legolas are so sweet together, I love it how you describe their relationship. I love Thranduil! *forgets decorum and huggles elven king* Legolas really needs someone to look after him. I liked the references to OuaS (looks even funnier than "For the Love...", LOL!), the friendship between Legolas and Hamille is much deeper with this background.

I feel like *I'm* on a ship now - the sea, the smell, the sun, the wind - you really have a way to make words come alive. “Not that it’s going to worry me or anything, mind you, but I don’t care to have a moaning, groaning elf on our hands!” *snorts* LOL!!! I like you Gimli, worrying so much for his dear friend and not wanting to be caught at it! :D Ai, I really hope Hamille will not sail! He must look after Legolas!!! *grabs Hamille and ties him to Middle-earth* And I would miss him, too. *sniff*

*SIGH* Some day you will have a permanent wet puddle as a reviewer, if you continue writing like that... This elf is so selfless, giving all and bearing all for the joy of his friend... *melts* HA! Aragorn has a surprise appearance. *grins* I'm glad he is very aware of his friend's problems, though I expected no less from him.

Hmmmm... *raises eyebrow* this could be considered a tiny little cliffie... I think I will survive that one. ;-) Looking forward (patiently) for the next chapter,

Tinu-with-the-many-names *g*

Awww... you're melting again...? :-) Isn't it worth the wet mess if it means you can read more of Legolas and Aragorn? Like Legolas, I'm only trying to make my readers happy. *grin*

You're right about fanfic writers going after Legolas - and we're both guilty, lol. Run, gorgeous elf, run!

YOu know, you're not only good at giving yourself names - you also have a thing for pointing out those hilarious acronyms for my stories! :-D OuaS !!

Thanks for another visit!

That was so wonderful. I loved the reference to the chestnuts. So funny. Thranduil really put Hamille in a hard place didn't he? I think he would have been there anyway though. I was glad to see Aragorn overhearing Legolas and Gimli's conversation. That was Gimli didn't have to break his word to Legolas by telling Aragorn anyway. I'm sure he would have. He is so stubborn. Just like the elf. Thanks again for a great chapter.

You're welcome, Nessa. Yes, those two are stubborn in their own ways - but that's why we love them so much! Glad you liked the reference to chestnuts - I love linking all those stories. Thank you for dropping in so faithfully.

I really enjoyed this chapter, Legolass. The adorable children and their unending questions probably tested the patience of everybody but it was so cute. How exciting to go on a trip to the sea!

Of course, a trip to the sea is probably not reccommended for those with sea-longing but,as usual, you know how to deliver the angst when it concerns our favourite elf.Thranduil's quip of "Run faster" was very funny but it was sound advice and I hope Legolas remembers his Ada's words when he is in peril--which I have no doubt he will be in soon(rubs hands in glee;D).

As with all your stories, the theme of the brotherhood between Aragorn & Legolas is at the forefront and I never tire of reading your words describing the love they have for each other. That Legolas stayed in Middle Earth for so long after Aragorn's death bespeakes of a friendship that we would all love to have.

'Gentle' Gimli! That was funny but the lovable dwarf can be just that were Legolas is concerned. He tries to understand Legolas' affliction and his gruff demeanor hides his fear--but it is good that Legolas knows Gimli's heart.

So, the party are not going to be alone for long.I can't wait to find out who--or what--will disrupt the happy voyage.Update soon, please.

Take care.

Ali.

Hey, Ali. :-) (So glad you get your name of choice here)

I don't know how much and how far Legolas will be able to follow his adar's advice - but with me at the typewriter, I doubt he will get very far :-p

Thank you for appreciating Legolas and Aragorn's great friendship, and yes Gimli is really very gentle at heart, like a great big teddy bear - and nothing demonstrates it more than his mushy feelings for Galadriel!

Well, the whole party won't exactly be pursued, but ... things are about to happen, yes. Thank you for sticking around to find out what. :-)

It was nice to see the hobbits though pippin was being picked on...It seems Legolas watches Aragorn and noticed he looked bad.
I love the friendship they have, it seems Legolas worries his friend works to hard.
I wonder who the twice forgotten are and do they want revenge for something, and is the uneasiness that Aragorn feels connected to this...

Love this Please update soon...

Author Reply:

Oops - sorry about Pippin. :-) He's just an easy target for others to pick on - even in the books - but you know they love him all the same.

You can tell Aragorn is so glad Legolas has stayed to be by his side, and it is nice to see sam and his family happy and smiling,... I wonder what the evil is that is unhappy...

Please continue, love it...

Nice to see you here now, Pipinheart. You will find out what the evil is eventually. :-) Thank you for being such a faithful reviewer in every story.

How in Middle Earth did I miss your first chapter? Oh well, it gave me all the more joy to read two chapters at once. I agree that I love cuddly hobbits, fellowship, friendship and bittersweet memories. And I too hear spooky music creeping up in the dark! Can't wait!

Author Reply:
Nice mix isn't it? Cuddly characters and ominous music? :-)

Thank you for dropping in.

Alison HReviewed Chapter: 2 on 9/9/2005
Yes, a new chapter! I do love your stories and I can't wait for more of this one.Can I hear ominous music in the background? Something dark is going to encroach upon our reunited friends and I can't wait to find out what, or who, it is!

I hadn't read LOTR before the movies came out but I quickly became aware that the members of the Fellowship truly loved each other.I found the books very emotional and your stories, especially 'For The Love Of The Lord Of The White Tree' are just as satisfying. As another reviewer stated, Legolas' words to Aragorn left me in a puddle of mush, too.I do love those two and you manage to write just the perfect words to highlight the deep love they have for each other *sigh*.

Update soon.

Take care.

Ali.

Glad you read the books as well, Ali - that's where the movies and our stories get their inspiration. TOlkien was a great writer.

Thank you for you review - nice to know you 'mushed' too. :-)

The elf sighed and cast his eyes downward to the green grass around their feet. “What I meant, Estel, was that… some day… some day…the Lands would be a better place to go to,” he said quietly. “But till that day… my own place is here with you.” Lifting his head to face the man squarely, he finished: “And till that day, Estel – there is no better place to be.”

Warm fuzzies on that bit. I liked the warmth in the Fellowship's reunion as well. It would be bittersweet. Looking forward to finding out what exactly is causing Aragorn's unease. ~TF

The unease will build slowly, TF, at least in the beginning, even if warmth was the theme of this chapter.

Thank you so bunch for always being here.
