I really liked the tender treatment of children here, the care for their characters as well as their bodies, and the thoughtful way their elders dealt with them. Lovely. Author Reply: Thank you very much, Daw. I enjoyed creating (What I felt to be) wonderful interactions between the grown-ups and children, and it's gratifying to know that the thoughtfulness and respect for the children come across. Thanks for letting me know.

It was sweet the way the children sort of comforted Aragorn after his memory of the incident with Legolas. Even though the elf surely forgave him, I imagine he never fully forgave himself. ~TF Author Reply: I agree. As I said to another reviewer: I imagine that if one feels really sorry for something, one never forgets even after having been forgiven.

Oh heavens, I have slipped and a bunch of chapters have gotten by me! Sorry! My earlier suspicion stands and the more I read the more charmed I am by that character. I think your Aragorn is a wonderful grandfather. ~TF

Now that was a nice suprise at the end. I hadn't figured out that Legolas was the little elf, though I suppose I should have. I like your portrayal of him as a small elfling, so many times he is portrayed as aloof & perfect but I figured he must have been a little bit devilish(is that a word?). I mean, come on his best friends are Aragorn & the twins. As Always, keep writing. Eliza Author Reply: Legolas was more than a thousand years younger in this story - that's gotta show somehow, lol. :-) Thanks for your support. Hear from you again when the next story is up, I hope.

Oh, I love Aragorn as a grandfather, which was why I put Arien and Valandil as his two living grandchildren into Light on the Way. A wonderful image, I thought, being allowed to know at least two of his grandchildren. Author Reply: Oh good - thank you for letting me know. :-) I loved the scene in the ROTK movie where he picked up Eldarion and I thought he would make a wonderful grandfather as well. BTW you have lovely names for his grandkids.

I like this elfling more with each chapter! He is so enthusiastic and endearing. *huggles elfling* And I loved it that he decided not to be grown up yet in the end. *g* Just sweet! "Swordhelm and Strongbow" - I didn't realize that Beleg and Turin had so much in common with Legolas and Aragorn! *wonders when she read the Silmarillion for the last time* I still refuse to re-read it though - I need my tissues for your stories. Hehe. “They see strengths in the other person that others may not see, or choose to ignore.” I loved that sentence! But there's another thing that stands out to me: friends also seem to freely share their greatest strengths with each other, like Legolas his talent with the bow and Aragorn his talent with the sword. And I liked Legolas' and Beleg's patience in teaching - a talent that has become rare and or even lost, but should be natural between friends. *smiles* I liked to see Aragorn as a grandfather, I somehow never realized that Eldarion - of course - would have children, too. (Too preoccupied with Aragorn and Legolas, I guess ;-)) Which reminds me that there is one more thing I love about elves and Dunedain: they defy the negative way old age is commonly viewed by our society. It just means changes, not deterioration. And I'll shut up now, as I have the slight suspicion that I am rambling... Almut (who is still crazy and suffering from a bout of acute elf-longing ;-)) Author Reply: Ramble away, Almut - I am listening, as all good friends should - patiently. :-) Re Swordhelm - I'm afraid I must explain: it was my own name for him *Sheepish grin* becasue he was known as Dragon-helm and Dread-helm (I've added that to the story) - but I thought it would provide a nice comparison to Aragorn and Legolas. After all, Turin was good with his sword. You can have the elfling tomorrow night - tonight, I'M hugging him! lol

She's back! You know, these thruly feel like summer stories... light, warm and cozy, like the little kids and elflings in their beds. Good job once again! Author Reply: What a lovely way to describe them: summer stories. :-) Thank you for the warm and cozy review!

*dumps medical supplies and tissues and grabs popcorn and chocolate* I've decided to believe you! *snuggles back into chair, imagines to be in a log cabin with a nice fireplace and starts reading* *chuckles* You somehow manage to make me feel like an elfling waiting for a bedtime-story, though I'm really entirely too old for that! *sigh* It's still sad to know how the tale of Beleg and Turin will end. It is such a beautiful, if sad, tale! "All I have left to me of the life I once held dear are your love and my trust in you, and I wish to take neither for granted" - my heart just started to melt again... *eyes little elfling thoughtfully* I'm quite convinced this one is Legolas and "ada" is Thranduil. *giggles* Pumpkin! To imagine Aragorn in these clothes - *snorts* it was a wonder Legolas didn't choke! :D Two beautiful friendship tales, one sad, one funny - I liked them both! And I can't wait for the story about Aragorn and Legolas! *bounces excitedly, remembers her age and dignity and clears throat* Well, I'm patiently waiting for the next chapter... Author Reply: Well, keep bouncing till the next chapter then - there will be just three to go, I think. I did say this would be a short story. :-) Pop corn and chocolate are good, yes. Also, my advice: get a strong mattress to bounce around on. Hannon le for dropping in, my friend.

A wonderful chapter, and now the image of Aragorn in the "pumpkin suit" will remain with me forever, I fear. What a trick to play! Author Reply: Hahaha! I wish I could produce a drawing of that man in that suit, to go with the story! Thanks for the review. :-)

I love the parallel telling, and the caring the two have for one another across the miles, as they think one of the other. Author Reply: Oh wow - this is like a chat! Immediate responses. :-) Glad you liked this chapter too. Thanks!
