I bet Galadriel had a lot of fun with this. How to dress up a ranger, so he will knock the socks off of her granddaughter.

Author Reply: Galadriel playing matchmaker! You have to wonder what Elrond thought about it.

my granddaughter will have eyes only for the man beneath the cloak, be it kingly or tattered."

And he smiled at the mingled hope and surprise in Aragorn's eyes.

Very nice. :D

Author Reply: Well, I know what matters to me in a man! It's not his suit.

Oh, *snorts in a very unladylike fashion.* *G* I totally agree with Gandalf although I could add a few. And perhaps Manwe should have included overindugence in pipeweed.

Author Reply: I always wondered if that memory lapse before the doors of Moria was a senior moment.....

Lovely, GA. It is nice to see a Celeborn in agreement with his wife's actions but also feeling with Aragorn.

Oh, and congrats on the awards - well deserved.

Author Reply: I always had a problem with the way Tolkien described Arwen's falling in love with Aragorn--as if she chose a suit of clothes. Thus this drabble!

Thanks for your kind words on the awards.

Yes, a moment of epiphany this would well be.

Alas that he should come to envy the one who would one day come in just that mode.

Author Reply: thanks for reviewing!

A difficult time for Thorongil! The first suspicion for Denethor? I suspect that Ecthelion already suspects?

Author Reply: I haven't explored Ecthelion's POV yet--that will play a part in a longer story yet to be written.

Thanks for reviewing!

It seems only fitting that Hobbits are remembered in history for the very important things; music, dance, food, happiness. Charming!

Author Reply: Hmm, I don't think I got food in there. An oversight!

Sigh. You've gladdened my Faramirist heart with this quindrabble. Really excellent portrayal of Faramir, showing his thirst for knowledge, his understanding of all the facts and words he stuffs in his head, and his ability to take that knowledge and use it to come up with new concepts as well understanding the old. His recognition that the history of Arnor now belongs to Gondor as the two realms born of Numenor's children unite once more is very typical of the character.

I imagine Faramir would be delighted to spend the entire day in the dusty archives; and he'll be even more pleased to have his desire to clean it up carried out - Gondor, coming out of the shadows of war and Mordor's threat, can once more embrace the love of lore.

And a hobbit dance with the Steward partnering Pippin - wonderful touch.

A great birthday gift, thanx much, G.A.

Author Reply: I always love meeting your birthday prompts! Faramir is a joy to write, especially with Pippin.

I love the picture of Faramir and Pippin dancing the Springle Ring. And the two of them in the library seeking out hobbit history.

Author Reply: Two of my favorite characters--it's so nice they're friends.

Ah, how wonderful the image--finding the illustration in the book and then teaching the dance to Faramir! Oh, a marvel, GA!

Author Reply: and then spreading it throughout the seven circles....thanks for reading!
