I finally got caught up on this!!! This was such an adorable story, as all of yours in this universe are. Everyone is so earnest and caring and well, you mix some angst in there but basically, the story is about hobbit-and-ranger friendship, which is my favorite thing. Or, er, the hobbits FEEDING the rangers.

“This has been a perilous visit,” Thalguron said, hungrily eyeing the tray his Captain set upon the parlor’s largest table. “Already I fear my tunic is less easy to fasten than it was just days ago.”

*chuckles* Thalguron would probably slay some Orcs and consider it an easy day, compared to the perilousness of a hobbit table!

Well, I'm sorry to see it end! But I know there's another Frodo fic 'round the bend from you, thankfully.

You know, this story was worth the read just to hear Aragorn say, "twacking." :D

Author Reply: Thanks, Lily! Somewhere out there, there's another Shire where all these fluffy, happy, snuggly things really happened (and are still happening). Somehwere out there, Aragorn was reporting back to Elrond and happened to use the word 'twacking', to the merriment of all.

*Checks blood sugar*

OK, lisping Pippin was nearly too cute, but you kept it believable. A sweet job as always.

Author Reply: I know that 'my' hobbits are usually *too* sweet and cute, but I do love them that way. Thank you for reading!

What a wondreful ending to a sweet and exciting story! New bonds of friendship are made and I think both Rangers and hobbits surprised oneanother several times over. Thank you for this. :D

Author Reply: Thanks, Anso! As often as possible, I do love writing (and reading) about these less angsty 'adventures'.

Computer was suitably de-fluffed but has now filled up again - I'm glad to say!
This was a lovely winding-down but I do hope you re-visit this universe again soon.
This line made me smile - Aragorn prepared a final sandwich, and surveyed the mountain he had created. “Is this enough?”

“It should be,” Bilbo grinned. “You’re learning, my friend!”

Aragorn knows his hobbits!

I loved the hobbits making Halbarad and his brother honorary Brandybucks - I can think of no greater compliment than to be an honorary hobbit! Now Halbarad is going home to his mother (!) and Estel is off on his travels again - this has been a much needed break for the poor Ranger. Everyone needs a stay with hobbits every so often.

Great story - thanks, Shirebound!

Author Reply: I think of all of *us* as honorary hobbits, to be sure! Certainly a lucky Ranger or two should also have such an honor... and such a relaxing, food- and smile-filled break from their routine. Thank you so much for reading.

To see the relationship as it might have developed had Frodo and Aragorn met then is interesting, and to see the love already growing and so strongly.

Thanks for a wonderful story.

Author Reply: I've had such a wonderful time imagining this storyline, and these relationships. I'm very happy you've enjoyed it.

All's well that ends well for Hobbits, Rangers, and Pups.

Though I must ask Estel to make more visits in the future!

Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed the story! A wise Ranger would visit his hobbit friends (and their pups) as often as possible.

such a lovely departing chapter to a wonderfully written adventurous story!

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I always worry about endings, and whether or not they'll make the story feel complete. I really appreciate your kind words.

“Frodo, this is for you,” Thalguron said with a sly grin, and presented the tween with a tiny replica of Scamp, complete with long ears and mischievous look. - What a beautiful gift. I'd like to see it.

Thank you Shirebound for a perfect ending to this great story.

And to conclude my review, I'd like to quote:

“It was wonderful,” Merry said happily. “When can we do it again?” :)

Author Reply: Thank you Andrea -- especially for wanting to "do it again"! I'm so happy to be able to share these stories. I certainly hope to have another in the works soon.

This has been a delightful story from start to finish. It's easy to see how Frodo grew to be the hobbit he is, with such a loving, nurturing, adolescence behind him and such wise and caring folks teaching him how to be a grown hobbit.

:D

Author Reply: Oh thank you! That's one of the exact themes I'm trying to bring out -- that Frodo was a very unique boy, noticed and nurtured by some very unique people.
