Force of Nature  by shirebound 16 Review(s)

Oh, my goodness! When I came to the end and didn't see a "Next" I couldn't believe that I had read 12 chapters already! What a great story! It is so refreshing to read something with such an airy feel to it, even through the angsty parts. Nature lover that I am, I really admire your take on the Old Forest. It's about time that trees get the chance to have their say. I like your dialogue (that's my greatest weakness as a writer), and that you have such textured characters. Keep writing!

Trees are very ancient creatures, whether "we" want to believe that they can "hear" or "feel" as such. Just imagine all the insects that depend on them and the creatures that eat the fruit or nuts that they bear. They are evidently a part of God's creation on this Earth and who knows what they would say if they could talk. Just imagine the tales they could weave, probably all of history especially the Redwoods in Northern California.

*knocked out by the toddler!Pippin energy and cuteness*

Or maybe I just need a nap. Look! Here are hobbits and rangers sacked out in the yard, with others cooking and playing in the stream.

I loved this part:
“Frodo,” Halbarad remarked, “Pippin has a most unusual accent.”

“It’s because he’s a Took,” Frodo explained. “You won’t even notice it after awhile.” The Ranger looked unconvinced.

*yawns*

LOL! I love littlePippin's speech! I'm a speech therapist working with preschoolers, and Pippin's speech just cracks me up. I especially loved him saying "fwogs", Frodo repeating it as "fwogs" also, and then Pippin correcting him with "fwogs" again! That's exactly what little kids do. They make errors that they're unaware of, but are quick to correct someone else's mimicking of their own error. Anyway, great job.

*sigh* I love this story! I love seeing, as Aragorn realized, how both the Rangers and the hobbits are learning so much from this experience. And wee Pippin! *melts* Where can I find one like him?

Here comes the fluff! I loved it. Can I nap with Frodo? Then run after Pippin?
