| “No,” Aragorn and Bilbo said together. (great use of timing here) "What could be safer?" --famous last words Well done! From Merry taking the key (for a sense of adventure) to being determined to go along somehow, to Frodo *having* to go in order to secure Scamp's cooperation, to Bilbo's handkerchief, to the plight of the missing Ranger and his relatives' concern, this is coming along nicely. | |

| Another wonderful chapter! I really love Merry here - thinking quickly, swiping the gate key and desperately wanting to be included. I love how Bilbo gave Frodo one of his handkerchiefs - good thing he remembered to pack one this time! :D | |

| Ah, finally! Would you believe that it took me weeks to start this new tale of yours? (Weeks and two pitch dark chapters of BIGS - which makes it even more delightful to sneak into your world were puppies are cute, rangers are friendly and hobbits are generous and goodwilling.) | It wouldn't let me log in, so I'm posting this way. I'm so happy to see another chapter of this story. I loved that Frodo was so eager to go along, but Aragorn and Bilbo both said "No," at the same time. Frodo and Merry catching frogs in the stream was a sweet image, and I could see hobbitlads doing so, splashing with their oversized feet. "Besides, I'll be with rangers, Bilbo. ----What could be safer?" Beautiful set up for the next chapter and whatever is to come. | |
