And Sam's thoughts....

Author Reply: That one was quite hard to write actually-- to find an angle not yet written about was a challenge...

Oh, Merry--I hear your determination.

Author Reply: I think Merry's middle name is determination. :) I really see him putting others in front of himself often.

Legolas and his kindred have already known the Enemy's assaults, with all that goes on from Dol Guldur. But there is the question as to how they will anticipate the future.

Author Reply: Yes i thought that and was feeling that he may also feel that he should go home and defend his Elven Kingdom but perhaps representation of doing a greater deed is more important at this stage...

Ah, heartening resolve from Aragorn here. Hope indeed.

Author Reply: I always liked the strong, resolute Aragorn we see more in the books. :)

Oh, how wonderful an image, of the old Hobbit and the young one together, forming a family.

Author Reply: I think it was a wonderful moment for both Bilbo and Frodo. =)

A nice look at the reassurance of color and a comforting touch when so much has gone cold and grey.

Author Reply: THank you very much! I'm glad you liked this because this was a quite unpopular one over in Livejournal. :)

Meeting Celeborn and Galadriel must have been an unusual experience, almost as if they weren't quite within themselves. And they certainly needed the easing of their grief and loss.

Author Reply: And they certainly needed the easing of their grief and loss.
They do need a reprieve from losing Gandalf and the dark suppressive environment of Moria...I would think that Lorien did heal their worries and made them more resilient to go on.

Sam deserved all the love and comforting he could get. We all love Sam, I think.

Author Reply: He deserves all our love indeed~ I love Sam very much. :)

Yes, our Bilbo would be strong for his beloved lad, even as he grieved for what he'd brought him to.

Author Reply: I think he had to try hard to mask his feelings of anxiety from Frodo...and also perhaps not bother Frodo with his own guilt too with giving him such an evil trinket.

It appears you share Sam's own grief here, and I mourn with you. But this leaves a real feeling of the being left behind we know.

Author Reply: It's always sad to lose loved ones... the grief is always here but you just have to live on ...using memories to sustain you.
