Budgie

'Gandalf shook his grey head. “No. Frodo will worry himself into a state, you see. Sam will worry that Frodo worries. Merry and Pippin will be unhappy because Frodo and Sam are worried.'

You have such a lovely 'take' on the Hobbits and the passage above really sums it up. And Frodo wanting to send Pippin and Merry home to protect them and realising that he can't!!!!

Well Done

I am glad that Pippin has not lost his other senses as well, especially not his sense of smell, nor has he lost his appetite as it seems. And the rest of Imladris' inhabitants seem to adapt quite well to the Hobbits' presence. Now if only Pippin regained his sight and his fellow Hobbits recovered from the riding experience ...

I loved how Pippin recognized Gandalf by the smell! How sweet that the first thing he did was thank Gandalf for his firework! Pippin can't be exactly quiet and I'm gald he was able to laugh even with everything that is going on! lol, that Pippin wouldn't cooperate until he had eaten, so hobbity! I liked that so many people were there to see him too. That is wonderful! Looking forward to more! Thank you for all the time you have put into this story, 60 chapters is a lot!

I always get excited when I see that there is a new chapter of this story. I am enjoying this very much. The hobbits are wonderful and you really capture Lord Elrod well. Write more soon.

So many things in this chapter that I loved. Saddle sore hobbits because Frodo knew they would not have wanted to stop. Pippin having trouble being cooperative because what he wanted was food in his empty belly. Frodo thinking of sending Merry and Pippin back to the Shire then realizing his folly. Gandalf's love of Pippin and Frodo and all the hobbits. All the Elves coming by to check on Pippin.

A wonderful, wonderful chapter!

Now I do worry about Pippin. His injury seems to be quite grave. It's all the more fortunate that the entire incident occured within Elrond's realm. I hope he will help the poor Hobbit, and quickly.

At last, they're reunited! And Pippin is soon to be in Elrond's healing hands! Thank goodness. I had been worried that something else might befall the travelers before reaching the safety of The Last Homely House. I have much faith in Elrond's healing abilities, but I hope it won't be a long, arduous recovery. Pippin has been through so much already!

I bet they were all overjoyed to see each other again! I'm glad Pippin didn't need to try and fight off anyone in his state! At least they are almost back to Imladris! I hope Pippin's sight returns, how terrible! Looking forward to more, thank you!

Phew!!! I was hoping it was the other Hobbits coming.
Not knowing a thing about horses I have to ask does the burnt sugar method thingy really work?
I love the way the hobbits band together around each other when one of them is hurt!
Thanks so much for a wonderful story!!

Author Reply: Hi Tetshira! Thank you for the review. To answer your question, I don't really know if the sugar trick would work. I was told about it by a 'horsey' person who said it would, but I would hate to be stranded in the Wild and have to try it out. I, too, love writing the hobbits supporting each other - they share a closeness that so many of us would like to have and so few do.

This chapter and the one before it are wonderful. This story just keeps getting better with each new chapter. Keep them coming.
