First Meetings  by Joee 14 Review(s)

Well, I enjoyed it. It is a fairly uncomplicated tale, but it's nice sometimes to read something that is straightforward. I like the angst of the misunderstanding between Legolas and Elrond, and his fear that Elrond would ban him Rivendell for arriving injured, yet again. It was a nice touch. It was entertaining also that neither Legolas or Aragorn made it easy for the other to figure out who they were, yet neither would abandon the other. The twins's correct assumption that Legolas had found trouble while musing that Aragorn was even better at finding trouble, then discovering that both had found trouble was an entertaining bit as well. Overall, I think it is a fine story. :-)

LOL! I have to admit I have never had anyone tell me they'd prefer I didn't read their story. Well, I can not read on if that's truly your preference and read one of your FF stories I haven't gotten to yet, instead. Would you like to make a recommendation? I've read Haunted and Darkness in the Mines thus far.

Author Reply: Wow I didn't actually think you would listen to me (most people don't). I suppose if you wanted to read on you could, but I don't really like the story. I keep meaning to change it but I never get around to writng anymore. In fact I have a whole inbox full of your challenges that I keep saving and mean to write but never do. One of these days I'm just going to come out with a whole bunch of stories. Anyway, I don't really have any reccomendations because I hate most of my stories, but if you are going to read them then I caution you that my older ones haven't been beta'ed and so are full of mistakes and a lack of description. But thanks for reading anyway =)

Oh! Ending the chapter on a mysterious note -- nice touch! This stories looks to be very entertaining. I lookd forward to reading the rest. :-)

Author Reply: Oh, I kind of wish you weren't reading this. I don't mean any offense by that, it's just that I love your work and respect your writing very highly and to have to reading something of mine that I hate kind of depresses me. I keep meaning to either delete or redo this story because of the ending and lack of plot twists, but I have no inspiration to write at the moment. I hope your opinion of my writing won't diminish after reading this story and if I do ever come out with more stories I hope you will read them (can you tell I have no confidence in my own writing??? lol). Anyway, thanks for the review =)

brilliant, brilliant story!
Little leaf! lol!
let's just say that legolas is best friends with aragorn AND gimli. then it's fair. (although as a viggo mortensen fan, i think aragorn should be his best best best friend) but enough about that.
it was a great fan fiction and i would love to read more like these- well done!

Silent Lurker checking in

I enjoyed reading this story and can't wait for something new. The onlything that bugs me a little about the last chapter is that I feel that the Elrond/Legolas "clearing of the air" was a little emotionally shortchanged. But I enjoyed it

Good work

I don't know if you tried to make a change on purpose or not, but you did. These last two chapters flowed so much better. You talent at describing the feelings of the moment, was not detracted from by stiff dialogue. Why? Because there wasn't any stiff dialogue! I'll happily look forward to more.
While, I'm never too concerned by Leggy cliffhangers,(because after all, he has to survive) I love reading about how he and Aragorn met. Elledan and Elrohir's convo about hoping Legolas and Aragorn would never meet, was quite amusing, and worded in a way that it didn't sound trite. Good job. I have one question though: The rider who was sent ahead of Legolas to tell Elrond he was on his way; what happened to him? Shouldn't he have met Leggy on his way back? Maybe he's still at Imladris? Ciao.

Author Reply: I actually didn't try to change anything, it just smoothed itself out on its own. Hmm, since I forgot about him, I guess the rider who was sent ahead of Legolas is resting at Imladris.
