Oh, Jo, this story is a PURE jewel - and I have cried more than once! Never did I think I could care about orcs but here you have succeeded in making care about 3 and I was even in tears to learn of Yarga's fate!

Oh what a jewel of a story - I just can't say that enough!

this is a most extraordinary story, especially with it's start in 'Another Way of Leaving'. I think it a much better and more fitting ending for LotR than wistfully sailing into the sunset, no matter how traditional that may have been. I think you have done here the very thing that Tolkien wanted; given a new myth suited to our present age. This is just the kind of tale I wish I had been brought up with, and hope tales like this form the ideals for many in the future. Then we really would create a new age.
Thank you

As good as they all are, this definitely was my favourite of the lot. The orcs especially, that was just a pleasant and interesting change from all the fanfictions I've ever read. Keep writing, because I think your hands, your wondrous brain or both would spontaneously combust if they were kept restrained! Cheers, again.

I'm so sad that it's over! It's hard to imagine Frodo dying since he seems to have so much energy, especially in your stories. You've taken us on this wonderfully written journey. It does feel like sixty years has passed since Frodo started off with Radagast! I'm still wondering what happened to Cuina :P Thank you, Jo, for sharing such a great story! I can't wait to see where Canohando ends up!

...well... I just found this story yesterday! The title really got me catched and I stayed up till 3 in the morning reading. And when my family left this morning I run to the computer and read and read and read.
That is quite a story and I really like your stile. The opportunity you give to your reader to search between the lines what the caracters intent with their acting got me cought. I have to admit that in the end I still hoped that Sam and Frodo would go to Valinor like Tolkien had them.....but I liked your ending very much and it was right for the whole progress of your story.
Well you caught yourself another fan of your writing....I will see whatelse you have posted here....oh and I would love to find out more about what happened to the orcs!!!

Oh, what a beautiful ending to a beautiful story. I have enjoyed reading this story so much over the last weeks. And I absolutely loved the ending. You did a wonderful job, and I look forward to reading all of your fanfics that I can find.

I don't often like to read stories with character death in them. They're too sad for me, and I think the real reason is that I'm never ready to let go of these dear friends that have twined themselves around my life. Here, I cried a few tears when Sam died, because it seemed he had a few regrets, and good as it was for him to have Frodo near at last, he never really got over feeling torn in two.

By the time we got near the end of this chapter, I had a suspicion of what was coming. Yet, I didn't feel sad for Frodo at the end. He'd done all he could do, and it was enough for any one person. I think that the sense of peace and healing he had crafted for himself over the long years in Mordor was enough for me, too. For those who have that peace, death really isn't an end to be feared. And of course, Sam was waiting for him. Any universe that could keep them apart, even after death, just wouldn't be right.

So congratulations on a lovely AU story that delivers a rare thing - happy ending for Frodo that is satisfying and has the same sense of 'rightness' about it as Tolkien's original.
