Author Reply: Thank you! It is very kind of you to say its one of your favorite stories - I am glad you like it. I hope that as we enter a dark time in Middle-earth that the love and friendship between these elves shows through.

I just want to say that you're showing such a loving, supportive, wonderful family unit for Elrond and Celebrian, I begin to wonder how they kept their sanity when Celebrian was tormented by orcs and chose to leave Middle-earth (and her family). I appreciate this warm, loving look you're giving us of a time when they were all together and happy.

Author Reply: I am glad you like the family dynamics. I wanted to show that Celebrian had to be part of a family that was strong and loving to help create her own. And I do think of the fact that Celebrian was captured and tormented very close to where she once lived, and have long wondered if she was targeted as being one related to very powerful people.

Very glad to see a new chapter! :-) And an excellent one at that. Glrofindel and Erestor are quite the entertaining pair. Of course, Glorfindel and Alagos were quite the entertaining pair as well. Arwen's devotion to her brother is just too sweet. The mud refusing to stick to Celeborn and Galadriel was too amusing. I hope they will make it home soon, though, as they seem to be an accident waiting to happen along every step of the journey.

Author Reply: They are having a time of it, aren't they? My hope is that we are *seeing* some of what the army had to battle as they made their way east. Finding the parallels is hard, sometimes, but I hope the Elrond/Celebrian love is a softer reflection of what Celebrian saw in her parents.

Thanks for the review!

I loved the mental conversation between Elrond and Celebrian as to who chased whom. And the mud and insects sounded truly horrible, the kind of conditions that are irritating almost beyond belief even though they are unlikely to kill you.

The Second Age stuff was, as always, great. The fireworks between Celeborn and Galadriel were well done, realistic but not exaggerated. How terrifing it must have been to see that huge army coming.

Author Reply: I hope we are *seeing* the conditions that Erestor will soon be *telling* us about - the bugs and the mud and the difficulties.

I am glad that Celeborn and Galadriel came across okay. Times seemed so desperate, it seems unlikely they would defy each other for long.
