The Cursed Queen of Angmar  by khazar-khum 52 Review(s)

I am so sad. I started reading this story only a short time ago and now that I am caught up with the chapters and the story itself... it comes to an end!! *nnnh*! I was hoping you would tell us how Ariashal came to be encased in her enchanted crypt. Or would the better description be 'magical cocoon'? Anyway, thank you for a great story. I am slowly working my way through the rest of your archived stories and enjoying them very much. Oh, if only I were anything like a *good* reader and reviewed as often as I should!

Epilogue! Wow! It's over! *pout* Oh, but I'll bet you aren't unhappy about that. LOL! Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable tale.

I am glad you are still updating this story here. It is still as entertaining as ever even though it seems that few are dedicated enough to follow it. You may not need my praise, but I read here most often and am glad to have the story somewhere I am not likely to miss a new chapter.

For some reason, I didn't get this alert, but I figured you must have updated by now so I came to look and voila! Sweet chapter - I have a vision of Arishal and her king holding each other in her cart on the long trip back – very nice. I am surprised there have been no other reviews to this chapter. When was it posted? You seem to have the same issue with this slowly updated piece that I have with mine – without reminders, only those who are truly into the story seek out updates.

A couple of typos you might want to fix.

“It was your skills that saved her, not simply her strength,” said Herumor “ I would have been unable to stanch the flow of blood, let along heal her lung.”

Should be 'alone' instead of 'along'?

“Neglected them? Nay, you have given them a far better education than most men, and even fewer kings treat their sons as well as you do. You have nothing to fear in regards to your children.” “Still. It will be good when they can see their mother and I again. The Queen sorely misses them.”

Missing hard return between the quote marks.

Thanks again for updating and hopefully I will get the alert next time!

Wow! I just read the whole thing. It was greattttttt. I really enjoyed reading it. Chapter 47 has a happy ending. Does that mean the story has ended? ...i hope not.

Author Reply: No, not yet--I'm just up to my eyeballs with the Mithril Awards.

I've read the whole story! I love how Ariashal is more than a brainless MS. You make her and her husband realistic.

BTW, I figured out who the Witch-King was! The only childless queen of Numenor was the one before Tar-Minastir. Minastir's father was named Isilmo. Am I right?! *jumps up and down* Am I right?

Author Reply: Yes.

There are a couple of theories about him; the Isilmo one works best, IMHO.

Oh, that was nicely done. Well handled action and compelling storyline. I was glad Ariashal got to see her husband's face, even if it took her own near death to do it. I get the feeling she considers it worth the price.

All I can say about Ferion is that it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. And Ariashal is brave - she has faith in her husband, but it still requires courage to pull off her end of it.

I am glad to have time to catch up on Ariashal. Again, I am amazed that you can get me rooting for the witch-king, although I admit it is Ariashal and the children who truly move me. Ferion is evil, but I think he is also weak - he wouldn't stand up to the tortures and difficulties he inflicts upon others.

I am curious to see where you take this. I have to go back to the beginning to see if you say when this takes place, if Ariashal is alive when the Witch King is driven from the north.

Thanks for the updates.

Author Reply: This is set quite early in his reign--Amon Sul still stands, and Rhudaur *is* still Dunedain. But that's about to change. *g*

As for Ferion's ability to handle pain--stay tuned! ;-)
