Antane · 25 April 2016 · Chapter 26: Encouragement

Boromir loved his little ones. Sweet story. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Andrea · 24 April 2016 · Chapter 31: Finding Home

For it was with her he would again find Home. That is true love! I am glad that this reunion was possible.

Author's reply

I so agree, Andrea. After over five centuries of separation I do believe they both needed this reunion.

Andrea · 24 April 2016 · Chapter 30: A Query

Well, the first step is already taken. And time will show Legolas that Elves and Dwarves can indeed be friends.

Author's reply

You are so right, Andrea. Thanks so!

Andrea · 24 April 2016 · Chapter 29: Discord Sown

What is the worth of an advisor if he always agrees with his Lord? And I am quite sure that Faramir is right with his advice. He is very talented with politics and diplomacy whereas Boromir is a born warrior.

Author's reply

In his heart of hearts Denethor knew that Faramir was right; but Sauron was already doing his best to sow division and suspicion between father and his younger son and anyone else likely to speak sense to the Steward.

Andrea · 24 April 2016 · Chapter 28: Sam's Birthday Blessing

That is indeed a wonderful birthday blessing!

Author's reply

I suspect having been born on the Elves' New Year might have added to the blessing, myself. (Grinning!) But I'm certain that in Sam's eyes this gift was always tied to Frodo's sacrifices.

Antane · 20 April 2016 · Chapter 31: Finding Home

What a joyful reunion that must have been! Home indeed. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

I so agree, Antane. They were parted for over five hundred years, after all. After her recovery from such a terrible wound and his weariness following his millenia of fighting the Shadow they needed one another to find their final healing, I believe.

Antane · 14 April 2016 · Chapter 29: Discord Sown

Faramir is right - deal with it! *grrrr*

Author's reply

Yes, I feel that way, too! (GRIN!) Thanks, Antane.

Antane · 13 April 2016 · Chapter 28: Sam's Birthday Blessing

Such a wonderful blessing for Sam! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Oh, indeed! And he deserved it if anyone did!

Lindelea · 11 April 2016 · Chapter 25: Papa's Return

Ah, bittersweet. This could actually have been the memory of a number of heirs of Elendil, down through the years.

Author's reply

I'd not thought of that, but you are certainly right! Thanks, Lindelea!

Lindelea · 11 April 2016 · Chapter 26: Encouragement

Love this! Determined Pippin, and patient, encouraging Boromir.

Author's reply

I am certain that Pippin felt he owed a good deal to Boromir and that in the end he mourned him deeply. That he came to honor Boromir's brother as well was icing on the cake!

Lindelea · 11 April 2016 · Chapter 27: Heirlooms

What a wonderful gift -- the stirring of memory!

Author's reply

Oh, yes. Ain't it the truth?

Andrea · 10 April 2016 · Chapter 27: Heirlooms

A rattle is an interesting heirloom! Is it really Aragorn's rattle that his uncle kept safe after he had to leave abruptly? However it is, I'm quite sure that Aragorn will give the rattle to HIS son when the time comes to continue the tradition :-)

Author's reply

I suspect that this rattle went through the hands of many of the Heirs of Isildur when they were toddlers, including those of Aragorn. And I'm certain you are right it will continue to be enjoyed by Aragorn and Arwen's own children and grandchildren as well.

Andrea · 10 April 2016 · Chapter 26: Encouragement

Wonderful! Boromir is the perfect teacher: Don't look at what you still haven't learned but at what you have already accomplished. That makes learning much easier.

Author's reply

Certainly I've found this an excellent policy for me to follow in the days I taught in public schools.

Andrea · 10 April 2016 · Chapter 25: Papa's Return

And how Estel would rejoice to see his mother transformed into a shining, happy woman once again! Young Estel is really lovable.

Author's reply

Author Reply: Oh, but I am certain that you are right there, Andrea. And I've been in love with Aragorn now for over fifty years! Heh!

Andrea · 10 April 2016 · Chapter 24: A Feast of the Spirit

So, let the boys play as long as they can! When they get older they will know the sorrows their master has. But hopefully they will still retain their optimism.

Author's reply

I agree. Certainly in Tolkien's universe loss of hope seems to be the worst sin possible, as it leads to so many atrocities.

Lindelea · 5 April 2016 · Chapter 24: A Feast of the Spirit

Hah! I love that quote, and the spirit behind it.

Author's reply

Auntie Mame was one of my mother's favorite books as well as one of her inspirations. And she was right, too many people fail to appreciate the richness life offers them!

Antane · 5 April 2016 · Chapter 24: A Feast of the Spirit

If all could always have the joy of children! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

I so agree, Antane! Thanks so!

Periantari · 4 April 2016 · Chapter 6: Comfort in Music

This is most beautiful and glad to read it again in here. Love it so much!

Author's reply

Thank you so! I believe that from time to time the Powers were delighted to give Frodo the comfort of good will associated with his old life.

Periantari · 4 April 2016 · Chapter 5: Foresworn

Always love insight to what Boromir was feeling at that turning point. Thanks for this.

Author's reply

I do believe that he realized at the end that he had been taken by the Ring and that he regretted it fully. Certainly the Master indicated this was true. Thanks to you as well!

Periantari · 4 April 2016 · Chapter 3: A Story Begun

What a cute scene. :) I can see that happening.

Author's reply

I've always felt that Elanor came to love dogs, but then I do and it's easy to project my own loves on her, I find.

Periantari · 4 April 2016 · Chapter 2: Time to Think

That's a newly patient Pippin we see! What a grown hobbit. :)

Author's reply

As Gandalf indicated, all four of them had grown a good deal indeed. Yes, he's matured a good deal as a result of the entire quest.

Periantari · 4 April 2016 · Chapter 1: Begetting Fire

Rarely do i read Silmarillion fic but this was quite evocative and powerful. Great imagery.

Author's reply

Oh, but thank you so! I am honored!

Lindelea · 2 April 2016 · Chapter 16: Lingering Too Long

Ah, Pippin, you and your incessant questions! At least you found Gandalf in a good and talkative mood for this one!

Author's reply

Oh, he did indeed. I suppose the Wizard was glad to find someone who might appreciate his concerns.

Lindelea · 2 April 2016 · Chapter 17: "I Was Mistaken"

Alas, poor Paladin. He likely needed this advice after dealing with ruffians for so many months.

Author's reply

At least he was able to say he was sorry and to mean it. Bless all Hobbits everywhere!

Lindelea · 2 April 2016 · Chapter 18: Importuned

LOL! I just love that scene in ROTK. I wish it had been in the film version. *sigh*

Author's reply

PJ did manage to short us some excellent scenes from the books!
