Oh, Ingoldo, that you should treat your brother so, or is this your henchmans idea?(Can't remember his name, the sniveling coward who kicked Glorfi when he was down!?) He is found now and is in good hands. Now to get back to Vanyamar(think that is the city I want, home of the Vanya?) and sort Ratty out, good and proper! Waiting for monday. Our power came back on about 9.15 p.m. last night. Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. I'd heard you were suffering a power outage. Glad to know you're back online. It was Vorondil who kicked Glorfindel. You're probably thinking of Tulcaner, Ingoldo's right-hand Elf, but he's in Vanyamar (you got the name of the city right). Some of the guards here have probably exceeded their orders. We'll have to see how Ingwe deals with all this eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Sunny · 9 September 2011 · Chapter 107: To Rescue a King

Riding with the Wild Hunt was evidently quite an experience! They evidently were successful in their planning and the execution of their plans, since they _did_ reach Ingwë. but he really seems to be in a bad way - I can certainly understand Ingwion's anger. Ingwë will need some time to recover from his treatment at the hands of his captors. I expect that this time will be put to use gathering information and formulating plans.

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. I did model Oromë and his Maiar after the Wild Hunt to some degree, figuring the concept had to come from somewhere. The Wild Hunt in any of its manifestations has always been depicted as being dangerous to Mortals who encounter it, and since this particular Wild Hunt is ridden by the Ainur, it would be just as dangerous for Elves as well. It will indeed take some time for Ingwë to recover and we will see how he progresses and what plans they make in the meantime over the next few chapters. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Larner · 6 September 2011 · Chapter 106: The Hunt Begins

Where better to imprison the King, I suppose, than the place that served as a prison of sorts for the Noldor who had begun the rebellion? Love seeing Shadowfax's forebears here! Now--the Hunt rides! Time indeed to come to the King's side.

Author's reply

Where better, indeed, Larner. Glad you liked seeing Shadowfax's forebears. I thought it was a nice touch myself and I think helps to give readers a perspective of just how far back in time we are with this story. And the Hunt continues.... Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Fantasia · 6 September 2011 · Chapter 106: The Hunt Begins

Hmm, it seems that Irene went all his way to Valinor, scary. Ok, you can have me in the list of fool people; I didn't even thought about Formentos. And you can add me too to the same list of people that think that Arafinwë and the Valars are too mysterious and it can be so easy if they speak plainly, I'm with Eowyn in that one. If I were Ingwion, I probably could have shaken Arafinwë until his teeth were shattering. My, how circumspect he has become.

Author's reply

Hi Fantasia. It does seem providential that you read of a hurricane-type storm in Valinor just after Irene hit our shores, but I assure you, I didn't plan it that way. LOL! Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of people who said to themselves, "Formenos! Of course!" but won't admit it. *grin* Ingwion does need to learn patience though. Arafinwë is not at fault. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Finrodbrs · 5 September 2011 · Chapter 106: The Hunt Begins

Hey Fiondil. I've been reading your stories for several years now, and I must say, they are superb. I especially like In Darkness Bound. It's really cool to see what was happening in Valinor during the Darkening. I don't know if you wanted to keep Ingwe's location an absolute secret, because when I read Ingwe Alone I totally called that he was at Formenos from the description of his room. That said, keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to Wednesday and Friday.

Author's reply

Hello Finrodbrs. I didn't purposely keep Ingwë's location a secret (except from Ingwion) but I suspect that most people would remember Formenos. But as you can see from one of my reviewers, not everyone is likely to. Thanks for taking the time to let me know that you've been reading and enjoying my stories, and that you especially enjoy this one. I was always nagged by the idea that Ingwë, as High King of all the Elves, is never mentioned as doing anything during the madness that overtook the Noldor and I wrote this story to find out why and just what did happen to those who remained behind.

galathil · 5 September 2011 · Chapter 106: The Hunt Begins

I want to join the hunt,it would be quite an adventure. As for Ingwion I can understand his frustration of not knowing where his father is.You keep us hanging of the end of our seats,I cant wait for the next chapter.I hope my ramblins make sense.LOL Galathil

Author's reply

Hi Galathil. Well the Hunt is a dangerous thing for Elves and Mortals (just read your fairy tales to find out why), so I for one wouldn't want to be in on one, but hey, to each his or her own. LOL! Anyway, sorry about the cliff-hanging but the chapter would've been too long otherwise and I figured Ingwion fainting was a good place to end the chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 5 September 2011 · Chapter 106: The Hunt Begins

Atto, Nasar? I wonder if you had "Big Red" aka Secretariat in mind? Awesome choice! Ok, enough from me about loving the horse's name, lol. I think what got me the most, really, was "Ingoldo". I thought you'd made a mistake, until I read a little way further. *blushes* Sorry, Atto. But what an amilesse for Arafinwe to have...why on Arda would his amille call him Ingoldo?? Well, it seems they shall be very wet indeed for a time...and now I have to wait until Friday to find out what happened to Ingwe... This story is progressing very well. :) Incidentally, zoo day ended up being yesterday. We saw the penguins, bears, big cats and many of my other favourites, but I had a couple of small seizures on the way out of the zoo, and dozed all evening. I slept poorly last night, so apologies if I'm in any way incoherent this morning, Atarinya. Tye-melin, Kaylee

Author's reply

Hi Kaylee. Nope, I didn't have Secretariat in mind when I gave Ingwion his horse's name, just looking for a suitable name in Quenya for a roan. *grin* I have no idea why Indis would give Arafinwë that particular amilessë, except that Tolkien gave it to him first so I just went with it. *grin* Glad you had fun at the zoo and I hope you're feeling better now. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Tye-melin.

6336 · 5 September 2011 · Chapter 106: The Hunt Begins

Ya know I never even thought of Formanos either, once the Noldor and Feanaro left it I don't suppose many people gave it another thought. I wonder how Ratty has been keeping in touch, do the elves have carrier pigions or some knid of messanger bird? I hope Ingwion comes to himself soon, are the other elves affected in the same way? Onward to Formanos! Waiting for Friday, Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. Then you are in good company with Ingwion in not thinking of Formenos. LOL! I'm sure the others were affected in one way or another but the focus at the moment is on Ingwion. And yes, onward to Formenos. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Laikwalâssê · 5 September 2011 · Chapter 105: Preparations for the Hunt

Ingwion has to grew up more - I agree, but a bit more understanding on his part would surely do him some good. Arafinwe claimes the same right for himself. It´s not an all-day-situation for them after all. I look forward to THE hunt. Thank you for another gripping chapter. Lai

Author's reply

Hi Lai. Yes, Ingwion needs to grow up more, or at least not be so self-involved, which I think may be the same thing. And as another reviewer pointed out, no one seems to have taken the time to sit down and talk with him and understand what he has been feeling. Well, I think when they finally find and rescue Ingwë, Ingwion will begin to find his equilibrium again. We'll have to see. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Larner · 2 September 2011 · Chapter 105: Preparations for the Hunt

Maturity is needed here, and all are earning that state rather quickly.

Author's reply

Definitely, Larner, but some have earned that state sooner than others. Ingwion needs to grow up a bit more but he'll get there. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 2 September 2011 · Chapter 105: Preparations for the Hunt

Well, Atarinya, here I am at last. It's been a while since I've reviewed on this story, for which I ask your pardon...I left my explanation on Wednesday over at Wedding, so at least you know what the issue was. I am caught up, though. Oh, Ingwi, Ingwi...Older than Arafinwe he may be, but he's so much younger in certain ways. I completely understand that - I'm the elder sister, but my younger sister outshines me physically, mentally, and in so many other ways. Of course, we're not twins, there's 3 1/2 years between us, but still. If my adar was lost, I don't know what I'd do...I *have* a sword, somewhere, that he bought me at a Renaissance Faire, but I don't know what happened to it, and of course it's not much of a blade LOL. And I think, in some ways, he *is* lost...lost emotionally, spiritually perhaps, to me, lost to himself. That's why I see you as a father so much more. =) *hugs Atto* I'm looking forward to THE Hunt, although I not only have to wait for Monday, I'm not sure whether I'll be able to get the chapter in the morning. I'm supposed to go to the San Francisco Zoo with Naneth. It's my very favorite zoo...I can't remember how many times I've been, but there always seems to be something new, and the old favorites too. Like PENGUINS. =) *is all excited for the penguin feeding* Someday you should go too! Tye-melin tenn' Ambar-metta, Kaylee Arafinwiel P.S. Sorry for the off-topic-ish rambling, but, well...you know me, LOL. =)

Author's reply

Hi Kaylee. Maturity usually has less to do with a particular age than it has to do with how life experiences have shaped a person and his or her outlook. Arafinwë's 'thralldom' forced him to deal with certain unpleasant truths about himself and in the process gained new insight and maturity. Ingwion hasn't had that kind of experience yet, nor has he allowed himself to integrate his recent experiences and let them reshape his outlook on life and realize that having everything handed to you on a silver platter reall does not work towards developing one's maturity. Anyway, enjoy the zoo and don't worry about the next chapter. It'll still be here when you get back. We have a zoo here where I live but I haven't been there in many years. Perhaps I should check it out and see what's new. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. Tye-melin.

Fantasia · 2 September 2011 · Chapter 105: Preparations for the Hunt

Well, can we start The Hunt now, Ingwion? I have to wait till Monday because of you! Seriously, I do feel bad for Ingwion, it seems that everybody expects him to act in the right way and none has prepared him for that. Even in this stressful time, none has ever sat with him and talk, really talk about how he feels. I still believe that the Valars could have handle the situation better, first, they sent him out in a non-pleasant way, then, he has to wait and finally, take weapons and learn, the last one it is against the one of principals that elves learn: kinslaying is a crime. I know that there is not room for self-pity, but why no one has at least, try to understand him? Yes, Arafinwë has grown away for his Cousin, to become an equal to the other Kings, but the price was too high, better to Ingwion to be an eternal prince than to lose his Father and most of his family in the process.

Author's reply

Don't worry, Fantasia, the Hunt begins in the next chapter though they won't find Ingwë immediately. That will take another chapter, but the end of the suspense is nearing. I think you're right about no one sitting down and talking with Ingwion. Everyone, including Ingwion, has been too busy running hither and yon, and Ingwion hasn't really had time to stop and work through what he is feeling. Circumstances have forced him to bottle them up and they are coming out through his drinking bouts and all. And you are also correct at to the high price Arafinwë was forced to pay to be where he is now, but that is often true in real life as well and we can only admire him for not allowing the circumstances that propelled him into the role of Noldóran to destroy him. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

6336 · 2 September 2011 · Chapter 105: Preparations for the Hunt

O.K. Now I am awake, I think? I think Arafinwe is the older brother that Ingwion needs, he has lead all his life, now he has someone to lead him. Ingwion has to some extent been wallowing in self pity, Arafinwe is the cold bucket of reality in the face that he needs. Now to pick himseld up, dust himself off and be the Throne Heir he needs to be. Sunny is right, you should always factor Murphy into the equation, otherwise he will show up with his friends Fubar and Snafu! Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. You may be correct about Arafinwë being the older brother that Ingwion needs, at least on an emotional level, since Arafinwë is actually the younger, but age really has nothing to do with maturity so much as experience and circumstances. Arafinwë will see to it that Ingwion takes his rightful place as Throne Heir, it's just not going to happen overnight. I think when they find and recue Ingwë Ingwion will start shaping up more. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Sitara · 2 September 2011 · Chapter 71: Prophecy and Doom

Another warning I have to issue for this chapter, a far more serious one, as well as for the length. “grim smile” I think it would be the last of them as the story would shift to some less perilous grounds from now on. I’m not far of thinking that, by pronouncing that Doom, the Valar lost yet another opportunity to keep their mouths shut as previously they had lost many other opportunities to speak up. Especially Námo, when Melkor was released from Mandos. Or as he’ll do later, when Eärendil would come to Aman. The matter is debatable, as it’s the fact that, after all, the Eldar were free to leave Aman by their own volition, to quote the Valar’s own words, and the most part of them didn’t spill any blood nor did they have a personal grudge against the Valar, as Nolofinwë says in HoME1. Yet the Valar would label them all as “rebels” and turn their backs on them, albeit Manwë styles himself King of Arda not of Aman only; that matter, as the Valar’s implied hypocrisy is still open to discussion. However, “to fence Valinor against you, and shut you out, so that not even the echo of your lamentations shall pass over the mountains” is what the likes of Morgoth would do, in my opinion, not Eru’s appointed guardians. That’s not just the fulfilling of a prophecy but something deliberately done. For their own safety or for revenge; two equally…ah, ignoble reasons. If the Valar really planned to “sit behind their mountains and feast”, dismissing from their thoughts all the Elves, Men, Dwarves and whatever else may be around, then I suggest them to step down their positions and take up gardening , for they are not worthy to be the guardians of Arda. It’s no less than the image of Eru Ilúvatar that they should represent to all the inhabitants of Arda. Don’t really want to ask them how much damage they did to said image. “To evil end shall all things turn that they begin well.” Unfortunately for the Aftercomers this time, so shall turn the Valar’s. And I dare to believe that the Powers of Arda would be held by Eru to a higher standard than the Noldor. And the best thing of all…. iAlaharyainë. “bursting into laughter” Now I have to call you a false prophet to boot, Námo. I don’t speak about kingship; after all, you weren’t adressing to Nerwen Artanis as to be such a big issue. The Silmarili, this is the issue. And, hear me out, Námo, Fëanáro will never lose the ownership of the Silmarili; beyond all that happened and has yet to happen, the Silmarili shall really belong only to Fëanáro. One of them would be eventually brought back to Aman and styled into the Star of the High Hope but to the Valar shall be forever the reminder of the fact that they’ll never be able to do more than displaying it, ultimately that Eru Ilúvatar had placed the fates of Arda and subsequently the Valar’s fate, the guardians of Arda, in the palm of Fëanáro’s hand. And that…has to be the Valar’s own Doom. An eternal remembrace that they were tried and found wanting. And that the key to unlock the gate to a new world was withheld from them and given instead to…an intransigent Elf. Eru Ilúvatar has to have the best sense of humor. “laughing heartily” As for you, Arafinwë…had you made your decision about five minutes earlier, it’d have been the bravest thing ever witnessed on this part of the Sea. You’d have had rock upon which to build anew yours and your people’s life in Aman. Instead, you’ll have gravel to content with because, ultimately, you’ve chosen not the right thing, as it’d have been had you made earlier your decision, but a compromise, namely the lesser of two evils. You may be no coward (and, in fact, you aren’t) but you’ll never know it for sure. Doubt shall be your own doom as you’ll be struggling to patch up one crack in your relations with the Valar only to find out tomorrow that two more have just appeared. You’ll be forced one day to flee Tirion and you’ll have to start all over again, sorting out things amidst the wreckage, while wondering how did it come to this….again and what would happen next time when the Valar’s newest pet project will blow up in their faces…and yours. On top of it, the world wouldn’t be getting younger. Neither would the Eldar or the Valar, for that matter. I won’t ever say that Arafinwë did wrong…but I cannot say that it was quite right either. It was, in my opinion, something …betwixt and between. ‘lol’ Although, I admit, someone should probably have done it anyway, before or after the Doom. For that person’s sake, it’d been better to be before, rather than after. Fëanáro severed the Gordian knot, while Arafinwë chose to painstakingly untangle it, a task to which he’ll apply himself until the End. I can only wish him luck. "grin"

Author's reply

Is there anything about this story you actually like, Sitara? You seem to be using my story as an excuse to vent about how you personally feel about certain characters and how Tolkien wrote them but you never seem to say anything at all about the story (or the chapter) as written. And given your disdain for most of the characters, I'm doubtful if you will find the rest of the story any less 'perilous' in that regard.

Sunny · 2 September 2011 · Chapter 105: Preparations for the Hunt

Arafinwë is definitely the Noldóran, so the Valarin dream therapy obviously worked! And I can certainly understand Ingwion being taken aback - Arafinwë is behaving like a leader, and the elder, when he had been an unimportant younger prince. Ingwion is definitely demonstrating why drinking too much alcohol and sleeping too little is not a good preparation for an important task! Hmmm. Oromë's version of "How to handle a sword 101" - does that include things like: - How not to stumble over the long, heavy thing now hanging from your belt. - You point the pointy end at the other guy. - bTry to look as if you know what you are doing, even when you aren't. - Murphy _will_ visit - we can only try to get him to do as little damage as possible.

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. Arafinwë isn't Noldóran yet, but he is well on the way, as we will see in the next few chapters. Ingwion will have to put aside his self-pity if he wants to catch up with his cousin. And yes, Oromë's version of "Sword-handling 101" is pretty much as you describe it, including Murphy. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Larner · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 104: Waiting Game

About time Arafinwe arrived! Now, to get cracking! And I don't blame Ingwion for his concern for his brother! There will be an entire contingent wanting Ingoldo's punishment before all is done.

Author's reply

You bet, Larner! LOL! And I'm afraid that everyone will have to take a number behind Ingwion as far as Ingoldo is concerned. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

Larner · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 103: The Making of the Great Lights and Other Matters

Hmm. A fascinating look at Sun and Moon and the purposes of each. And Ingil will become a guest of Namo's all too soon, undoubtedly at Ingoldo's instigation. More and more Ingoldo has to answer for, in some cases even before it quite happens. It's hard to realize he is Ingwe's brother at times, so different are the two of them.

Author's reply

Hi Larner. I think that Tolkien was rather ahead of his time and he would've been quite comfortable with the "New Cosmology" promulgated by such people as the Brian Swimme and the late Thomas Berry. And yes, Ingil will soon become a guest of Namo. And it isn't too unusual for siblings to be radically different from one another. Even in my own family none of my brothers and I even look alike and our personalities are completely different and we all have different interests and talents; you wouldn't even think we were related. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Laikwalâssê · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 103: The Making of the Great Lights and Other Matters

you have changed my view of the Valar with this chapter. Sitting back and not intervene is not the same as doing nothing. Liked the creating of sun and moon very much. I´ve never considered that the moon has no own light. Thank you for a very interesting astronomy lesson. Lai

Author's reply

Hi Lai. I'm glad I've changed your view of the Valar here. As you say, sitting back and not intervening is not the same as doing nothing. And I'm glad you liked the astronomy lesson. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

Fantasia · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 104: Waiting Game

Finally, it is time for Arafinwë to take over, it is time to start to kicking .....well, you know. I feel so sorry for Ingwion, waiting is so hard, more when do you know that action is needed and you are helpless In reality, I feel sorry for everybody, from Feanor to Lindarion, what a terrible time; the sequels of Melkor's job are terrifying. It is a long, but a long way for recovery. Feanor was such a talented elf, and all was lost in his rage. I even fell sorry for Olwe's daughter and Ingwion, they could not even start to court for centuries. So many things destroyed and so many things delayed. I hope that after a while, everybody, from Valars to the last elf can start to analyze what went wrong. I remember that I read a fic time ago, about Olwe, the Teleris and Elwing, how she told them about the Noldors, their heroism, after all, she was marry to a descendent of one of them, and how the Teleri started to see them in another light. I would really love to see one story from you about the event, I'm sure that it will be great (Do you have a whising list?:))

Author's reply

Hi Fantasia. Now that Arafinwë has arrived, thing should start hopping. And waiting is indeed hard and some take it harder than others as we see with Ingwion. It is right to feel sorry for them all, for as Manwë pointed out in an earlier chapter, they are all suffering to one degree or another and none are unaffected by what has happened. And while it is a shame that such things as Ingwion and Olwë's romance being put on hold, we do know that eventually they do marry and that's the important thing to remember. I don't have any immediate intention of writing about Elwing persuading the Teleri about the Noldor but I can add it to my plot bunny list and perhaps someday I will feel inspired to write about it. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

6336 · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 104: Waiting Game

Not sure I like these dreams Ingwion is having, he is either having prophetic(Sp?) dreams or Irmo or Namo or Atar is trying to prepare him for what is to come. I really, really, really do not like Ratty! Ingwe may not be at the hunting lodge, but I still think it needs checking out, with the amouint of traffic that seems to have been coming and going there, something is going on! I can understand how Ingwion feels, but killing off brain cells with alchol is not going to help, he will need all his wits about him when he finally finds his atar and what Ratty has been upto. Yay! Arafinwe is finally here, now things will start to happen. The train wreck is on the home stretch. Hope you did not get too wet and that your brother was O.K. N.Y.C. did the right thing with regard to Irene, it could have been a lot worse. Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. The dreams are certainly troubling. We'll see what they decide to do about the hunting lodge soon enough. And Ingwion really needs to grow up a bit more. Right now everything is centered around him. He will shortly learn that others have had it rougher than he has of late. And yes, now that Arafinwë has arrived, things will start rolling. We had an all-day rain yesterday that was slow and steady. I didn't go out. My brother said Irene was a non-event in NYC. He woke up on Sunday to find all the streets dry. I guess it was much worse in Vermont. They reall got hit. Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

AzureSkye · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 104: Waiting Game

Oh, Arafinwe's last line was amazing. After all the waiting those two have done....Well, lets see what Arafinwe can add to this Hunt. :) Although I may not be reviewing faithfully, I am reading, and its wonderful as everything else you write. I'll try to review more, but know that I'm always looking forward to the days you update!

Author's reply

Hi AzureSkye. I'm glad you found Arafinwë's last line amazing. We will be seeing a new and improved Arafinwë in the rest of the story. He's no longer the sniveling self-pitying whiner he was before, thank Eru! LOL! Anyway, I'm glad you are still reading and I look forward to any review you are able to leave. Thanks.

bookworm · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 104: Waiting Game

lol and suddenly!Arafinwe! XD Poor Ingwion though, you can just see him slowly coming to pieces.

Author's reply

That's right, bookworm. And you have to feel sorry for Ingwion. Nothing seems to be going right for him lately. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Sunny · 29 August 2011 · Chapter 104: Waiting Game

On to the hunt! I'll enjoy seeing Ingoldo getting what he deserves - though that is actually some way off, I'll expect. I suppose those dreams Ingwion is suffering from are precognitive dreams? From your description, they have that sort of feel to them.

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. Yes, the Hunt is about to begin at last. And the dreams are probably precognitive in nature, but as Ingwion really doesn't remember them, it's hard to say. Some of them may just be anxiety dreams. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Tari · 26 August 2011 · Chapter 99: Allies Unlooked-for

I sure hope Ingwion doesn't travel too far before he finds out that his family is free. That shoud be a joyous reunion.

Author's reply

Hi Tari. Actually, this chapter takes place at an earlier time for Ingwion. At this time, Vanyamar is still under Ingoldo's control. It's a bit confusing as I'm jumping back and forth to tell different characters' stories and bringing them all up to the 'present' which is with Arafinwe listening to Manwe tell him what has been happening in Eldamar while he's been with the Valar. Eventually, the different threads will be joined but not immmediately. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Sunny · 26 August 2011 · Chapter 103: The Making of the Great Lights and Other Matters

i see you are preparing for Arafinwë and Ingwion to join forces. I also see that the Valar aren't all that specific about Arafinwë's curriculum - or Valaring tutoring methods. ;-) I gather that "interesting times" have already started in Mandos - although things are certainly not as "interesting" as they will be during Finrod and Glorfindel's stay. Hmmm - I wonder if any other of Námo's guests will be as ... inventive ... as they? If so, I am sure Námo will be the first in Arda to invent hair dye! (Henna and indigo will give blue-black hair in a two-step process, so he won't need to put up with any noxious chemicals, either!

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. Yes, the events described in this and the previous chapter are very close to the 'present', which is Manwë describing all of these events we've been reading aboutlately to Arafinwë while sitting in Nienna's dining room. And the Valar never volunteer information that is not specifically asked. That allows them great lee-way in how they present certain information to the Elves. *grin* I have no idea if the times in Mandos are interesting or not or even if they are more or less interesting for Námo and his Maiar than when Finrod and Glorfindel show up, but I'm sure it's proving to be a learning experience for them all. They've never actually done anything like this before; all is new. And if Námo resorts to henna and indigo... well, only his hairdresser knows for sure. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
