I wanted to tell you how much I loved this story, it was such an adventure! I admire the way you write Eomer ,you really know how to bring him to life and his lady also, hope you will write somemore soon (aren't I greedy) but I just can't help myself it's so good. Hugs The Imp
Author's reply
Hello Imp,
it was a lovely adventure for me to write the story, too. As for more tales about this couple, for the time being I want to return to an idea for an original story that got interrupted by this plot bunny. However, I probably wont be able to keep my paws off my favourite horselord for too long ;-)

I very much enjoyed this story! Great humor, great romance. I appreciate the lack of...over-descriptiveness.
Author's reply
Hello Jedi,
it's definitely one of my less serious stories ;-) And I'm pleased to hear you think I got the right balance with descriptions.
Thanks for reviewing and may the Force be with you!

He gave her a necklace of golden cabbages? Lol! And what a nice touch that they're planning to visit teh young couple they'd helped, that is a really satisfying aspect. Well, I wish them much joy on their belated honeymoon!
Author's reply
Hello Virtuella,
a friend at my writing group actually suggested the necklace, so the honour for the idea goes to Drummerwench. However, I turned it into furled roses ;-) And I thought I'd tie up a few loose ends with the epilogue as well.

So Lothiriel has to face the music. Her father must be desparate to get her married after such a scandal. Another wonderful chapter ending in which Eomer turns the tables.I shall be sad when this story is over.
Author's reply
Hi Linda,
I think her father must be desperate to get her off his hands in any possible way. Lucky for him that Eomer might just oblige.
Thanks for your kind words!

Reading this story is such a pleasure - I was a bit worried about catching up with all the chapters, but I really shouldn't have been, because they each went by so quickly. As always, your prose draws the reader in with unequivocal ease. Your characterisations of Eomer and Lothiriel are wonderfully three-dimensional, they've both clearly got faults, and yet still endearing. In theory, this scenario could have been done poorly, but you've made it believable. I especially like sub-plot with the abused wife, it works on so many different levels.
Another thing that struck me was the great details you've included - like the fashioning of the bark cups, the chemistry of the potion Lothiriel stole... and of course, the scenery that the two of them pass through on their journey!
Thank you for sharing yet another fun, engaging story - it's got everything I'd want: romance, action/adventure, humour! I look forward to seeing how this continues/resolves... :)
Author's reply
Hi Klose,
I didn't realize you were following my story! I'm really pleased to hear you're enjoying it and thank you very much for your kind words, especially on the characterization. Writing about Eomer and Lothiriel so much, it's not easy to reinvent them every time, but I do try to make them well rounded characters.
As for the scenery, I live near the Rhine, so I borrowed some of it from personal experience. As for the rest, it shows that I spend too much surfing the net ;-)
Thanks for reviewing and more soon.

I just loved this chapter and what a great ending! The path of true love is still far from smooth!I'm another one who rarely reads any story not about Aragorn, but I love your Eomer.
Author's reply
Hi Linda,
in that case apologies for the lack of Aragorn to you as well! I like him a lot, but since the story of him and Arwen has already been told by Tolkien, I prefer the freedom of writing about Eomer.
And the path of love definitely has a few bumps in it ;-)
Thanks for reviewing!
Lia
Wow! I've been following this story for a while, and man, you know how to write a great story! I rarely read stories that do not have Aragorn in them (I'm biased), but you really know how to write a compelling plot with wonderful characters. I am certainly interested in how this affair turns out!
Yep, Eomer really should have told her earlier. Certainly interested in how this turns out.
Author's reply
Hello Ainu Laire,
my apologies that there's so little Aragorn in this! But I'm pleased that you're nevertheless enjoying the story. And for some reason this plot has turned out to have more twists than a pretzel, some of them quite unplanned. I had not intended for Eomer to end up in the water again, but when I reached this point it seemed the natural thing for Lothiriel to do ;-)
Like you said, he should have told her. But he can always blame the birds, lol.

O-o, madam is getting a bit struppy now, isn't she? ;-) Well, I'm afraid she'll find it difficult to run away a second time!
Author's reply
Hello Virtuella,
stroppy is putting it mildly. However, she's just found out that the man she's reluctantly fallen in love with and for whom she was prepared to do battle has been lying to her from the start, so perhaps her ire is understandable. And I think her impulses would run more towards murder than running away ;-)
Thanks for reviewing.

Author's reply
Hello Elfingimp,
as I said in the summary, it's a tale of cold water ;-) Probably quite mucky as well in fact... And Lothiriel has to recover from her concussion first, but I'm not sure she'll really feel better when she wakes up.

You know, I keep thinking how years later they'll tell that story to their children.
"And then your mother wrapped me in a carpet and rolled me down the hill."
"You should have heard the way he bossed me around! *Lothiriel, that is an order!* The insolence of him! Well, he's never changed..."
Author's reply
It's funny, another of my readers mentioned that and I thought how it would make an amusing scene of having Eomer recount to Elfwine how he met his mother. But I think I'll let that plot bunny slip me by. I've got too many of them as it is!

Hey, I would have preferred the dark rye bread anyway!
You're building this up nicely!
Author's reply
I prefer dark bread, too. Although I've read that even 'white' bread in Medieval times was what we'd call wholemeal nowadays. And the really dark stuff had bits of grit in it, which wore down your teeth. But I'm digressing!
