poor guys...they can't catch a brake no matter how they try. At least they found each other though!
Author's reply
Poor guys indeed. It's good breaks they have trouble with. Bad ones come their way with regularity. They found each other, yes, but they aren't reunited. :o)

Oh, I hope Legolas doesn't do anything foolish to distract the trolls from Aragorn. Is it too much to hope that he'll be able to leap on his horse and they both gallop out of troll country? They're both long overdue for some pampering (and possibly some of Elrond's foul teas) in Rivendell :)
Author's reply
It would be very much like him to do just that. Your scenario sounds great, but somehow I don[t think that's the way things are going to go. As for Elrond's foul teas, I think L & A would gladly drink all they could get their hands on, if it meant they had left the trolls behind and were once again in Rivendell.

You are torturing them, as you right well know! Come on, Aragorn--get yourself and Legolas out of here! And may this group fight the other two!
Author's reply
Yeah, I do know that. Poor guys. :o) I think both of them will do their best to get away. Hopefully, all the trolls will clash and knock each other off. How much are you willing to bet it will happen that way?

I´m pretty new to this site, but your stories I know quite well and this one is another brilliant one. Well, with this story I´ve learned how annoying trolls can be.
I ever thought they were only big and stupid. Your descriptions however have taught me otherwise. I think you really enjoy it to put our heroes through the wringer - dont deny it! *g*
I think they have earned a brief respite. Will Aragorn react in time ? Was Legolas sacrifice to be discovered worth the trouble ? More please !
Lai
Author's reply
I'm so pleased that you enjoy reading my stories, including this one. I think Tolkien's trolls were big and stupid. And of course, Peter Jackson's were, too. Mine have a bit more brain power, so there can be more interaction with L & A. Well, I guess you've figured me out, so I won't deny it. :o)
Those questions will be answered soon. Stay tuned.

Oh, Oh, Oh! Two roller coasters now. The one Aragorn is on, and the one Legolas is on, and they each helplessly watch as their friend's coach aims for for a collision with increasing numbers of trolls!
Author's reply
That is a very interesting way of describing the situation. Let's hope any collision that occurs will happen between the trolls only and leave our guys out of it. Keep your fingers crossed.

Oh!!! THIS SUSPENCE IS KILLING ME! I was wondering about whether or not the group looking for Legolas would pick up on Estel. I must have more! lol :)
Author's reply
Oh, no. Don't die! I need all the readers/reviewers I can get. :o)
Unfortunately, it looks as if Estel will soon be discovered by the trolls. We'll have to see if Legolas is successful in warning him off before then. Hang in there.

Author's reply
I hope you are finding this wonderful site all you hoped it would be. I am very pleased that you are enjoying this story. I will update as soon as I can, so you and your sister won't have to wait too long. Hurry, Aragorn, indeed. :o)

Well, at least Legolas is up a tree. He likes trees, so that has to be a good thing. *resolutely ignores the pack of trolls converging on said tree*

Indeed, he is. I think it's always a good thing when a wood-elf can find shelter in a tree. It would be nice if Legolas could ignore them, too. We'll see how things play out. :o)

You have spent all of this chapter metaphorically pushing this little roller coaster car up, up, up the hill, faster and faster. Now you leave it poised at the top of the hill, ready to PLUNGE down again! Larner is right, you know. But I love every word of it! And yes, our wounded lad must be one amazing elf!
Author's reply
What a clever discription of this chapter. I like it. I can't deny that it tickles me to know I've evidently gotten you excited. You think she's right? Oh dear. :o)
Our dear elf is definitely amazing, but even so, he needs some help. Hurry, Aragorn!

I am amazed that Legolas is still alive, let alone run and dive between legs of big fat trolls AND cleaving their spines and thighs! *shakes head*
Aragorn had better get there fast - it's hard to have to be behind and ahead as well. Those trolls are getting on my nerves. I want to stamp them out with my rubber stamp. :-)
(Thought I'd review here instead, just for kicks.)
Author's reply
I was surprised to see your name on a review here, but then I saw your last statement. Variety is nice.
You know, I'm also amazed he's still alive and did all those things. It's even more amazing when you see those feats listed like that. But then, he is a very amazing elf. Even so, Aragorn does need to hurry.
I think stamping out those trolls with your rubber stamp is an excellent idea. Wish I had a way to get it to Legolas. :o)

I love the bit about the tree Legolas tried to communicate becoming vaguely aware. I hope he will get the chance to go back and heal the trees. Assuming of course that he manages to escape the marauding trolls...
Author's reply
I'm so glad you liked that part. It's my favorite in this chapter. Maybe this one tree can help revive the rest of his kind. Those nasty new trolls may have something to say about whether Legolas gets the chance to do anything every again. Hurry Aragorn! :o)

Arrrggghhh! Legolas, hide! Mean ol' angsty plot bunny! :( I am glad that Aragorn has the horses, though. A shred of hope...though our golden prince is in danger of being caught by a more ruthless group of Trolls. Nasty things! Love and hugs, Neilia
Author's reply
Let's hope Legolas finds shelter begfore those nasty trolls find him. That would not be a good thing for sure. Aragorn having the horses is certainly a cause for hope. Now, he just has to find our elf. Love and hugs to you, too.

Author's reply
I'll see what I can do to help Legolas, but I make no promises. They are really separated now with a river between them. I don't know when it will end, but I can tell you that it comes directly from my evil little plot bunny. :o)

Out of the frying pan into the fire. Or is that out of the trolls into the river. Talk about caught between a rock and a hard place. They are in it. One set of Trolls isn't enough?! Now they have 3 sets. Let the Tolls argue it out between themselves. What happened to the Trolls, in general after ROTK? Just wondered if you know.
Looking forward to the next chapter. Hopefully it won't be to long in coming.
Author's reply
I like the way you said it. They didn't have much choice, did they? I'd have done the same thing in their place. Aragorn had that idea, but unfortunately, the two groups can't get together.
Tolkien never really went into much detail about the trolls. I honestly don't remember if the fate of any of the troll races (species ?) were mentioned.
I'll update as soon as I can.
