Lindelea · 3 April 2016 · Chapter 76: Hopeless (Sam)

Very good job building on that prompt. Alas, poor Sam! I wish I could tell him that all will come out well, if only he perseveres... His courage and loyalty will yet save his beloved Master in the end.

Author's reply

Thank you so much! Yes, at that point we only counted on his loyalty and his will to see it through no matter what. Starting from when Frodo was captured, you can see Sam really grow. Thanks for the comment!

Larner · 25 March 2016 · Chapter 77: An Uneasy Consensus (Frodo&Gollum)

And, alas, he was nearly right. At least he took the Ring with him.

Author's reply

It is a chilling ending but i don't think Tolkien meant for it any other way.

Larner · 25 March 2016 · Chapter 76: Hopeless (Sam)

The bleakness of that time is clearly communicated.

Author's reply

Thank you so much! Glad you thought so. :)

Lindelea · 22 December 2015 · Chapter 75: Five Times Gandalf was Impressed by Hobbits

Oh, well done! One for each of our favourite hobbits.

Author's reply

Thank you so much! I love my hobbits (as you can tell .;)

Antane · 11 December 2015 · Chapter 75: Five Times Gandalf was Impressed by Hobbits

Hobbits really are amazing creatures. :) And Gandalf should know, being a connoisseur of them and still getting surprised. No wonder he liked hanging out with them. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Yes, i really think Gandalf thought the best of them so therefore paid attention to their corner of Middle-earth more so than another other non-Hobbit. I would like to hang out with hobbits as well! Thanks for R&R! :)

Larner · 9 December 2015 · Chapter 75: Five Times Gandalf was Impressed by Hobbits

And when we remember that he was a friend also to Gerontius, we must realize just how many extraordinary Hobbits Gandalf knew during his life as a Wizard within Middle Earth! And bless GW for inspiring you. She, too, is extraordinary!

Author's reply

Gandalf has always known strong hobbits. No wonder Gandalf trusts in them and their courage. I agree that GW is extraordinary too! :) Thanks fro the review. :)

Larner · 9 December 2015 · Chapter 74: If He Had Never (Frodo)

Again, that hint of what the Ring was stealing from him, distancing him from all comforts even as It sought to steal his very soul.

shirebound · 7 December 2015 · Chapter 53: All Hallows Night (Ranger)

*happy sigh*

Author's reply

:happy sighs with you: :hugs: :)

shirebound · 7 December 2015 · Chapter 52: The Best News (Frodo&Bilbo)

So sweet! I love to imagine that this was indeed Bilbo's reaction to Frodo's birth.

Author's reply

Thank yoU! I think that would be very special indeed. I know from my own sister being born on my b-day-- it is a very unique happenstance. :)

shirebound · 7 December 2015 · Chapter 30: Peace at Last (Frodo)

The ship gently undocked from the harbor of Middle-Earth. How I love that line. I'm re-reading some of your lovely drabbles this evening.

Author's reply

Thank you so much! And thanks for rereading and commenting! :)

Antane · 6 December 2015 · Chapter 69: In Memoriam (Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin)

The movies did a great job with all the myriad love stories in this marvelous tale - and the one between Boromir and his little ones show the depth of such love that he would sacrifice himself to save them. Thanks for this little story that shows they loved him back. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thank you! I do think that the Boromir and hobbit bond was very strong. The whole Fellowship had a strong bond and it'll be great to read more friendship stories between them. THanks for reading and reviewing!

Antane · 6 December 2015 · Chapter 73: Hope Renewed (Bilbo)

That's because Hope was with Frodo. Yea, Sam! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Antane · 6 December 2015 · Chapter 74: If He Had Never (Frodo)

Sam rocks! Frodo abandoned hope but Hope did not abandon him. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thank you for reading! Sam indeed is an awesome hobbit. Hope is always the greatest thing that we can keep in our hearts at tough times!

Larner · 8 October 2015 · Chapter 73: Hope Renewed (Bilbo)

A beautiful series of images as Bilbo finds reason to rejoice in this finally renewed spring! Love the lily being the first blossom he noted.

Author's reply

Thank you! I worked at the lily being involved and also i'm glad that this worked. :)

Antane · 24 September 2015 · Chapter 72: Lunar Thoughts

And three hobbits have a lot to do with the lifting of darkness (and four including Gollum, can't forget him!) and Pippin saved Faramir. Go hobbits! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Yes indeed they all fought darkness very well. I did mention "stinker" in here in passing too. :) go hobbits indeed!

Antane · 24 September 2015 · Chapter 71: Not a Nightmare (Faramir)

Great drabble - so much grief and pain packed into a little story. Poor Faramir, such a gentle heart to absorb and be torn apart by such a blow. Love him. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thank you so much! I do think that death caused him much sorrow, more than he shows in the book! I love him more and more too! :)

Larner · 23 September 2015 · Chapter 72: Lunar Thoughts

Beautifully done! Love the image of the full moon repeated so, and Frodo's observation, reminiscent of his realization of how Arwen's arrival in Minas Tirith will relieve memories of fear in the capital of the reunited kingdom.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! Your review means a lot! I am glad that this drabble worked for you.

Larner · 23 September 2015 · Chapter 71: Not a Nightmare (Faramir)

And in this case the dread dream has come true. At least he comes to know that Boromir had truly redeemed himself.

Author's reply

That would be great to read that in another fic actually-- the fact that Faramir would reconcile Boromir's death and that he was also redeemed by his actions of saving the hobbits and as a brother accepts his death as an honorable one. I would love to read that.

Larner · 23 September 2015 · Chapter 70: Hope Fails (Frodo&Sam)

No, time may not heal all wounded hearts and minds, unfortunately. I rejoice that Frodo will perhaps find the healing in the Undying Lands, but Sam will probably always grieve that the love Frodo received in his own home was not enough.

Author's reply

Yes, i think so too- i am glad that Frodo would find healing too but some hurts go too deep as we know and things cannot stay the same. Sam will grieve but he was meant to be whole and one for many years. :) Thank you for your thoughts!

Larner · 31 August 2015 · Chapter 69: In Memoriam (Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin)

A good reason to gather then, and a worthy one to so remember.

Author's reply

Thank you! i think this is a fitting scene to create and i would love to honor Boromir for what he did!

shirebound · 30 August 2015 · Chapter 69: In Memoriam (Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin)

What a wonderful tradition. I like this very much.

Author's reply

Thank yoU! I'm glad you liked this!

Larner · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 68: “I am so sorry Bilbo, I wish to part in friendship.”

I, too, am glad Bilbo was there to hear the apology and to receive the honor due him. Excellent finish to this series of five.

Author's reply

Thank you for your constant support and thoughts-- im' glad you think so! :)

Larner · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 67: “it’s just an acorn…I found it in Beorn’s garden.”

Indeed, if more were like Bilbo! Again, a movie moment I treasure!

Author's reply

I love that moment from the movies and glad that PJ included that. :)

Larner · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 66: “I will not risk the quest for the life of one burglar.” (Thorin)

I understand the rationale, but am still angry that he was willing to sacrifice Bilbo completely!

Author's reply

Thorin could be hard headed at times, very stubborn which is a character trait i find in Turin too which i find a fascinating character in Tolkien as well.

Larner · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 65: Surprise (Thorin)

One of the most wonderful of movie-moments here! Love Thorin's private thoughts on the matter!

Author's reply

Yes, i really liked it too! Thank you!
