Larner · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 64: Doubt (Thorin)
He has reasons to know misgivings, but more reasons in the end to be glad that the Hobbit came anyway, of course. But, then, we have the benefit of hindsight....

Larner · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 63: “He looks more like a grocer than a burglar.” (Thorin)
But then the Dwarves had a lot to prove to Bilbo as well. At least he proved to have amazing integrity, surprising even himself in the end.
Lindelea · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 68: “I am so sorry Bilbo, I wish to part in friendship.”
Beautifully done.
Author's reply
Thank you so much!
Lindelea · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 67: “it’s just an acorn…I found it in Beorn’s garden.”
Ah, yes. If more could be so...
Author's reply
then we would all cherish the simpler things in life... :)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 5: “No More Despair” (Eowyn&Theden)
So emotional! He must have realized just how alone she was in all of this. Lovely!
Author's reply
Thank you! =)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 4: Feelings of Guilt (Pippin)
I always like it when Gandalf helps the hobbits deal with things or gives them encouragement. I love how you have written Pippin too. It's perfect!
Author's reply
Thank you! I like Gandalf helping out our hobbits too! Thank you for liking Pippin-- from a PIppin fan, it means a lot!
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 3: Deceptive Uncertainty (Merry)
That must have been such a difficult thing for Merry. I sometimes wonder how he got through it all. Out of all the hobbits, he spent the most time on his own while Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli did what they had to do. This is beautifully written.
Author's reply
Thank you so much! I loved that moment soooo much from the movies! I think it was wonderfully done and Howard Shore's music was perfection. I have a Pippin moment also inspired from that moment. Thank you!
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 2: Cerin Amroth (Aragorn)
They were a true love story and it is so interesting the way there love plays out in the background of LOTR. I like this moment you've written very much.
Author's reply
Thank you! I really appreciate your thoughts very much! And yes, they are a very great love story. :)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 1: Amidst the Darkness (Frodo&Glorfindel)
I did miss Glorfindel while watching the film. He was such an interesting part of it all. Now, you have restored him. Thank you!
Author's reply
NO problem! Glad you liked! I always preferred book-verse in Flight to the Ford.
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 0: Fading (Frodo)
The perfect opening to your series. : )
Author's reply
I was in a phase that was addicted to Weathertop to Rivendell and the Morgul wound's effect on Frodo so i wrote these drabbles to no end during college. :) haha
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 58: Weathertop Drabble Series
So powerful to see the entire thing unfold from all points of view. You capture their voices so well. : ) More great writing from you!
Author's reply
Thank you! I am glad i got their voices well! and thanks for your support! =)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 59: Debate (Gollum)
I didn't know you had written Gollum! This is great! You captured his voice perfectly!
Author's reply
Thank you! Yes, i wrote him when i wondered to myself why he didn't attack the hobbits in Mordor sooner and that is my little bit on why he didn't attack at the plains of Gorgoroth and waited till Mt. Doom. I guess it was hard to track the hobbits or he was still indecisive... Author Reply: Thank you! Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 60: Belonging (Frodo)
I always like beginnings and this is such a sweet beginning for Bilbo and for Frodo. I like thinking of it this way.
Author's reply
Thank you very much! I love it when Frodo feels like he belongs somewhere. :)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 61: Respect (Aragorn)
I love the way this quietly shows Frodo's inner strength. So much of the time, the films didn't bring this out enough. Great job!
Author's reply
Frodo's strength is the most important and feature i love most about him. Fics that feature his strength are my favorites. :)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 68: “I am so sorry Bilbo, I wish to part in friendship.”
So very sad, this parting of friends in such a violent way. Bilbo and Thorin really did learn so much from one another. It's such a shame that they never had the chance to be friends in a time without peril. Lovely writing!
Author's reply
I think more fic should explore the evolution of their friendship...movie-verse did enhance their friendship very much. Thank you for your kind words!
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 67: “it’s just an acorn…I found it in Beorn’s garden.”
I like how this one shows the differences between the dwarves and hobbits by showing what is important to them. : ) So glad you put these all together on SoA. I like reading them again in order.
Author's reply
I think there are differences yet similarities, like loyalty to friends. :)
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 66: “I will not risk the quest for the life of one burglar.” (Thorin)
I enjoy Thorin's reasoning here. It's like he is trying to convince himself that he's right. Bravo!
Author's reply
He's the most obstinate dwarf there is, isn't he? :) Thank yoU!
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 65: Surprise (Thorin)
(Maybe I had underestimated the hobbit. ) hehehe, Bilbo to the rescue! I loved that scene. Great job of showing Thorin's thoughts and his surprise.
Author's reply
There was a great shot of Thorin turning around. Thanks!
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 64: Doubt (Thorin)
Poor Bilbo! He isn't making the best first impression is he? lol I can see Thorin's point though. He is off to do a dangerous, important thing and suddenly he has doubts about one of his company. It puts more worry on him.
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 63: “He looks more like a grocer than a burglar.” (Thorin)
I like how honest Thorin is here and how, even though he doubts Bilbo is the one to go along, he still gives him credit for being honest.
Grey Wonderer · 31 January 2015 · Chapter 62: Something Stirs Within (Bilbo)
I love this little bit about Bilbo making his decision to go with the Dwarves. I'm so glad these are posted here too!
Author's reply
Thank yoU! yes, i love some insight to our dear hobbit's thoughts. :)
Larner · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 62: Something Stirs Within (Bilbo)
Oh, yes--the inspiration of that Dwarvish song and how it struck our beloved Bilbo! Delightful to see Bilbo become anything but staid and predictable for a change!
Author's reply
Thank you! Yes, i am glad something changed in Bilbo too! Such a turning point! :)
shirebound · 23 December 2014 · Chapter 62: Something Stirs Within (Bilbo)
"a little adventure", LOL! I like this.
Author's reply
Thank you! it's an old fic but decided to post here as well. :)
Antane · 31 January 2009 · Chapter 61: Respect (Aragorn)
Exceptional indeed and his Sam just about the same. Praise them with great praise! I like Aragorn's respect and admiration here and in your other "Praise" one. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Thank you so much! :)
Antane · 31 January 2009 · Chapter 60: Belonging (Frodo)
A lovely beginning for this new chapter in Frodo's life, so very important. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
