harrowcat · 23 July 2006 · Chapter 63: Lunchtime

And love has got to be the best sauce there is. *g*

Author's reply

Hee! You're right. At least Frodo appreciates the effort :) Thanks for reading!

EstellaB · 22 July 2006 · Chapter 46: The Smell of Elves

Goodness me! I *never* though I'd read any story with a similarity between Pippin and *Sam*, except that, well, they're both hobbits...

Author's reply

Sam has his own share of curiousity, he just doesn't ask as many questions as Pippin does :) Thank you for reading, EstellaB!

EstellaB · 22 July 2006 · Chapter 44: Namesake

"I know we won't name you Merry. Your nose just isn’t silly enough." Poor Merry! He must have had to put up with so much abuse from his cousins...

Author's reply

I'm sure Merry gave as good as he got! I love good-natured teasing amongst friends and cousins. Thanks for reading! :)

EstellaB · 22 July 2006 · Chapter 27: A Gift Farewell

Very good of Sam to wear the hat, though apparently so badly deformed that it is unrecognisable! Lol.

Author's reply

The things a person does for love! Thanks for reading :)

Andrea · 22 July 2006 · Chapter 64: All in Good Time

“Brandybucks,” she huffed. Berilac lit his pipe and shrugged. “Tooks,” he replied succinctly. LOL! Nice little story! The watch, though, is as stubborn as a Baggins ;-) I like the idea that this watch shows the "time" of the Lonely Isle. A very special present, indeed.

Author's reply

I like the idea that Merry and Pippin can communicate in some small way with Frodo. It such a comforting thought. I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Thanks, Andrea! :)

EstellaB · 22 July 2006 · Chapter 18: The Sandhobbit

I might be daft, but I did not see that ending coming at all! *giggle* Cute little Pippin-and cute bigger Frodo, too!

Author's reply

I'm glad you enjoyed this, especially the ending! Thanks! :)

harrowcat · 9 July 2006 · Chapter 62: Unaligned

I hope they help Frodo - I really do. *sigh*. Sorry about the late review ST but RL impedes again! However it has given me a chance to re-read, and delight in, the other two stories. I also re-read the reviews for them. Have I missed the story about the mysterious correspondance between Aragorn and Faramir or is it still in the pending pile? *nudge, nudge, waggles eyebrows and grins*

Author's reply

Thank you harrowcat for your support! I'm very happy that you enjoyed this addition to the Star-verse and very honored that you re-read the others! That is a wonderful compliment. :) Do you mean the mysterious correspondence in "Upon the Wings of an Eagle"? Because I haven't written anything on that! It is definitely still in the pending pile but thanks for giving me a nudge! I will definitely think on it but no promises - the hobbit plotbunnies are stronger than the man ones! :D

Elemmírë · 8 July 2006 · Chapter 62: Unaligned

Pippin is just so sweet-natured. How can anyone not love him? Such a bittersweet time for poor Frodo ... he cannot feel the joy of Pippin's stars, yet he _can_ feel the relief in knowing that he will be able to look up and see them wherever he may be. This would bring some relief and peace to the troubled Ring-bearer as he contemplates leaving Middle-earth forever ... and some peace of mind to Pippin as well perhaps at a later time. Both cousins can look up at those two stars wherever they are and feel reassured and wonder if the other is looking up at that moment too. (goes in search of the rest of the Star series)

Author's reply

I don't know how anyone cannot love Pippin, because I absolutely adore him! Thanks so much for your lovely comments, you touched on everything I'd hoped would come across with this ficlet! I definitely wanted to show that even if the stars could not help Frodo as they did Pippin and Merry, he would still find some solace through them and be able to watch those stars even after he sails West. I'm so glad you enjoyed. Thank you Elemmírë :)

Andrea · 8 July 2006 · Chapter 62: Unaligned

Hoping to hide the doubt he felt, Pippin smiled. “Are you certain, Frodo? I just know that my stars wouldn’t mind.” Aw, sweet little Pippin! I love your Star Universe :)

Author's reply

Pippin is a very giving, generous person, and I'm sure he would have done all that he could to try and help Frodo. I'm so glad you've enjoyed the Star-verse. Thank you so much, Andrea! :)

Pearl Took · 8 July 2006 · Chapter 62: Unaligned

This is such a touching story, like the others in your Pippin's Stars series. it really is an interesting and fun idea. Most excellent, ST :)

Author's reply

Thank you so much, Pearl! I'm so happy that you found it touching. It was wonderful to revisit the Star-verse again. I've missed it! :)

Marigold · 8 July 2006 · Chapter 62: Unaligned

This is wonderful ST! I love the tone of this, it is so calm and companionable, and sad and hopeful and filled with love...I can visualise it perfectly. It is really, truly, lovely. I love your Starverse!

Author's reply

Thanks, dear! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I've been wanting to write again in the Star-verse but I hadn't had any ideas so I was very happy that Gryffinjack requested this! I love your comments above, I'm so grateful that you found it to be all those things! :)

harrowcat · 3 July 2006 · Chapter 61: Watching

Oh this is soooooo sweet. And it is good to be thinking about chilly Autumn mornings after I have just endured a night of sweltering heat when just lying flat on the matress has been too hot!

Author's reply

Thanks, harrowcat! You see, I don't like the summer at all. So I find that, to compensate, I write most of my summer ficlets in the winter, when it's too cold for me to remember what hot weather is like. And now, in the summer, I find myself turning to the autumn and winter. Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed :)

Elemmírë · 2 July 2006 · Chapter 61: Watching

Very sweet and cozy!

Author's reply

Thanks so much, I'm glad you thought so! :)

Armariel · 2 July 2006 · Chapter 38: Guess Who?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this is so cuuuuute!!!!!! that little rascal Pippin!!! LOLOLOL ~~~{~@

Author's reply

Heeheee, thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I love writing cousin fics :)

Pearl Took · 2 July 2006 · Chapter 61: Watching

You are so good at these wee vignettes, ST! Loverly :)

Author's reply

Thank you so much, Pearl! That is a great compliment :)

Pearl Took · 1 July 2006 · Chapter 60: Climbing Lesson

Hehehe, yes now it's time for the hard part :) A sweet wee moment!

Author's reply

Thanks Pearl! I'm sure Pippin took to climbing down easily. He had Frodo's guidance and he is sure-footed after all :)

harrowcat · 29 June 2006 · Chapter 60: Climbing Lesson

*grin*

Author's reply

*grins back*

Elemmírë · 28 June 2006 · Chapter 60: Climbing Lesson

Very cute!! I hope they have an easy time getting down.

Author's reply

Thanks! I think they will. Pippin is "sure-footed" and Frodo certainly seems to know what he is doing.

Grey Wonderer · 28 June 2006 · Chapter 60: Climbing Lesson

I never mind climbing up but going down can be a bit tricky. I do hope Pippin takes well to that too. This was very cute. I like the idea of Frodo giving the lessons.

Author's reply

Thanks GW! I love it when an older hobbit teaches a young one something new. I'm glad you enjoyed! :D

Bodkin · 23 June 2006 · Chapter 59: Pervinca's Homebrew

Pervinca is - determined. It's no wonder Pippin was able to withstand the Palantir. He'd had training!

Author's reply

LOL of course! With three older sisters I suspect that Pippin had LOTS of training! Thanks for reading! :)

Larner · 22 June 2006 · Chapter 59: Pervinca's Homebrew

Wine, eh? Okay!

Author's reply

Based on a true story! *grin*

Pearl Took · 22 June 2006 · Chapter 59: Pervinca's Homebrew

Hehehehe a bit young for making wine, isn't she? It amazes me, the ideas kids come up with :) A cute wee story.

Author's reply

I remember trying to make wine with two friends when I was no more than 8 years old. Their mom was babysitting me - we thought we were going to get in *so much* trouble for raiding her refrigerator (we used more than grapes!) but she thought it was hilarious. And the "wine" was undrinkable *grin* Thanks for reading, Pearl! I'm glad you liked it :)

Pearl Took · 22 June 2006 · Chapter 57: At the River

A beautiful scene - very much like a post card ;)

Author's reply

Oh dear, I'm so sorry I missed this review from June! I feel awful about it! But thank you so much, Pearl!

harrowcat · 22 June 2006 · Chapter 59: Pervinca's Homebrew

Invincible Pervinca! At least the grapes are already ripe! *g*

Author's reply

I haven't written the Took sisters very often but I do have a clear idea of what their personalities are like. Invincible is a good way to describe Pervinca! Thanks for reading :)

Daynawayna · 18 June 2006 · Chapter 58: Home Again

Oh how sweet! I love seeing Fathers and Sons show love and affection, especially Hobbit ones! :) This double-drabble could actually be made into a short story: a study of the emotion of return for both Pippin and Paladin. What a wonderful way to start my Sunday morning at work! (someplace I don't want to be on sunday morning! LOL )

Author's reply

Thanks so much! I also adore loving relationships between parents and children. I was thinking about expanding this tiny ficlet to include the first thoughts of Eglantine and the Took sisters when they see Pippin again. But I do like your idea about showing Pippin's response as well. I hope I will write all of those things eventually! And I hope you have a good day at work! I'm glad you appreciated this ficlet.
