Wonderful chapter, as always. I still love what I read, you know. I missed your cliffy. Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic, as the rest is understood. Sivan

Author's reply

Thank you. You missed my cliffie? Wow. I don't hear that very often. I'll see if I can leave one for you when I get back from my vacation.

*~SuGaR~* · 14 April 2004 · Chapter 46

WHAT! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! YOU CAN'T GO!!!!!!!!!!! *sigh* April 24!?!?!?!? well, at least you didn't leave us on a cliffie...that would have been pure evil!! Instead you leave us feeling all happy with the return of our usual beloved wood elf =) *sigh* again...we won't be seeing that for much longer though now are we? Now we're left with that ominous feeling that something bad is going to happen real soon until you get back...WAH!!! But maybr it's a good thing that we get to hold onto all the happy thoughts for a while cause you'll probably come back and destroy it all by making something horrible just when Legolas couldn't get any happier...i know your evil ways *glare* well, i'll just have to wait and see it seems...*sigh* *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

Gee, am I so predictable that you know that something bad will happen? Well, of course, you do. And, it will. It just worked out that this happy chapter came just before my vacation. I didn't plan it that way. Keep those happy thoughts of Legolas with his horse and his trees. Yes, definitely hang on to that thought while you wait..

Lossenchristal · 14 April 2004 · Chapter 46

Awww, how nice of you to leave us with a happy chapter! I am glad Legolas is able to have a happy time for a while, the only problem is that I know it is not going to last!:( Even all through this chapter I had this nagging unease, and I kept waiting for Mordraug's voice to come back and spoil everything! It is like knowing there is something bad around the corner, but not knowing exactly when it will jump out at you!;) But thanks again for leaving Legolas in a good scenario while you are gone!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

Yes, the dear boy needed a break. I thought it worked out nicely that everyone is left with a joyful time while I'm gone. You are so right, though, that there is more bad stuff coming. You've no idea how bad. But, for now, Legolas is happy.

daw the minstrel · 14 April 2004 · Chapter 46

At last a happy chapter for Legolas. Good. He deserves that. I like his link to the trees and his horse.

Author's reply

Yes, I couldn't resist given our dear elf a break. He'll need it, I'm afraid. Legolas is truly a child of nature (that's a phrase I am planning on using one day as a title for a story about his youth, although I don't think I could compare to yours, all of which I love).

*~SuGaR~* · 11 April 2004 · Chapter 45

inhale...exhale...deep breathes... sorry, but I have to find some way to keep myself from screaming...*sigh* we've got a long way to go... I was ecstatic when Elrond asked Legolas what the real problem was at the end of the last chapter, but that didn't last too long. I knew you'd never let him off that easily and stupid Mordraug!!!! SO MEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least the twins and Estel know something's wrong too, Estel knowing has to be a good thing, but with you...nothing is a good thing =P But even if they find out, what are they going to do?!?!?!?!?!?!? *sigh* Legolas is just falling right into this little trap...argh...you just have to make him so ignorant sometimes!!!!! Now I want to scream at him even more...*sigh* yep, we've still got a long way to go... *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

Yes, breathing is a good thing. And yes, we have a long way to go. Legolas can be so maddening sometimes, but then Mordraug isn't going to give him too many breaks. I just know you aren't really expecting me to say what will be done, if anything *can* be done. Right? :o) Yes, a long way to go indeed.

Lossenchristal · 10 April 2004 · Chapter 45

Oh dear, poor Legolas is getting worse and worse.:( I just hope that Elrond and the others can figure out what is wrong, if Legolas won't tell them! That Mordraug is so creepy, I do not like him at all!!:/ Good chapter though:), please continue soon!:) Namarië. ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

Legolas is slowly, or maybe not so slowly, sinking into Mordraug's trap. The dark elf is creepy, isn't he? That was what I was aiming for. I'm glad I succeeded in your opinion. I don't think there's much in him to like. Thank you. I'm updating tomorrow (Wednesday).

Sivan · 9 April 2004 · Chapter 45

Well he did left him for few moments, and then back at the end of the chapter, did he? Aragorn is going to talk hard with Legolas, as he got the excuse with the food. I still love what I read, as I still very enjoy reading it. Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic, and don't ever to think to stop writing it, not until it complete, understood? lol! Sivan

Author's reply

Legolas is very stubborn, as well as being very much under Mordraug's influence. He needs to find the will to trust his friends. Understood. I will not stop writing until I finish the story.

daw the minstrel · 9 April 2004 · Chapter 45

Oh my, poor Legolas. He's being fooled so deeply. I can see how concerned the others are, and I am worried about that wet balcony myself.

Author's reply

Yes, the poor baby. His friends are wanting so desperately to help him, but the stubborn boy just keeps it all in and is being swayed by Mordraug's arguments for every thought Legolas has. Meanwhile, he is getting more and more confused.

sofia · 9 April 2004 · Chapter 45

will Legolas ever tell anyone whats goin on inside his head anytime soon? Love how the story's coming along. Hope next chapter is up soon! -sofia

Author's reply

Will he tell? Humm. Maybe yes. Maybe no. Now, didn't that make everything clear as mud? :o) I'm so glad you are liking the storyline. More soon.

Alina · 6 April 2004 · Chapter 44

This must be so maddening for Legolas! All the epain he went through, then not being able to walk and talk properly, now the evil presence in his mind. It would not be surprising if he felt like losing his mind! I really hope he will talk to Elrond, or if that fails, be provoked into some sort of action... You have me thinking (again), I´m looking forward to your next update! Alina

Author's reply

Maddening, yes. OUr dear elf does think he's losing his mind. The question is: is it real or just his imagination? Of course, I can't say (not yet, anyway) whether he tells Elrond or not. Thinking is a good thing. :o)

Lossenchristal · 5 April 2004 · Chapter 44

Well, I am still wondering how Legolas is going to get rid of Mordraug, and how much is his imagination, and how much is real. It sounds pretty real right now... Please let him tell Elrond!!!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

You'll be happy to know I have the rest of the story figured out. Keep reading, and you will know what I know. REality or imagination? It's certainly one or the other. :o) I hope that you will like which one it turns out to be, as well as how it's dealt with.

Anonymous · 5 April 2004 · Chapter 44

i love this story. its good

Author's reply

Thank you very much. I hope you like the remainder of the story.

daw the minstrel · 4 April 2004 · Chapter 44

Why is it that I doubt that Legolas will tell Elrond what the matter is? That would obviously be better but I still doubt he'll do it. It must be very difficult to resist this inner devil.

Author's reply

Gee, I can't imagine why you would think Legolas won't tell Elrond. Actually, at this point in the story, you probably know me well enough to come to that conclusion. :o) Resisting would be difficult at the best of times, but Legolas is still reeling a bit emotionally from his recent death and resurrection. I like your term 'inner devil'. Wish I had thought of it.

Sivan · 4 April 2004 · Chapter 44

Will he tell him, or not? Right? I know you by now, keep moving, update soon. I still love what I read, as I never give up from your tense fic, you know... lol! Keep up the great work that you are doing with your fic, I'm still loved it. I have Jewish Holdiay called "Passover" this month. Sivan

Author's reply

I hope you have a nice Passover. Will he or won't he? That is the question. REad on. I'm happy you are still enjoying my story. More soon.

OakWolf · 4 April 2004 · Chapter 44

yeah!/No! yeah because Elrond knows something's up with everyone's favorite Wood-elf and No because that @#!% of a elf known as Mordraug is continung to exist(more or less) KEEP WRITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author's reply

You summed up the situation very nicely. I will certainly keep writing.

*~SuGaR~* · 1 April 2004 · Chapter 43

*sigh* well this is just great...Mordraug dying was supposed to be a good thing!!!!!!!!!! Now that he's dead, he can, for some odd reason, run around and mess with poor Legolas' mind and no one will know!! Unless Legolas says something of course, but that probably won't be forthcoming...You just have to twist everything around, don't you? *glares* DON'T YOU!?!?!?!? The crutches Elladan and Elrohir are making wouldn't reinforce Mordraug's lies...wait, Legolas will probably end up thinking want him to be able to walk on his own so that they won't have to help him >.< Everything's all planned out for our elf isn't it!?!?!? *sigh* Legolas is in for some serious problems, especially with you in control of his life =P *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

Well, it looks like someone is going to have to give Legolas a big nudge to talk about what is going on. Considering hs pride and stubbornness, that won't be easy. Let's push Estel on him. the human is almost as stubborn, so that may work. yES, I DO!!! Twisting things around is fun. After all, I must keep my readers a little off balance, mustn't I? All planned out? Yes. More serious problems? Yes. Especially with me in control? Hmmm. Probably. :o)

Eruanna · 31 March 2004 · Chapter 43

Goodness goodness goodness! If I had a week to spend to myself I could catch up on reviewing, but in my present state of life, I'd say it's not going to happen. Say, do you think this story is going to keep going into the softball season? I have even less time then! *shrugs* Oh well. I'll do my best. I've seen some wonderful development here! I'm running out of time again, but I will say that I am very involved in the direction this is going. It's very frightening. My POOR X 1,000,000,000,000,000 BABY! Doubt is a powerful tool, to be sure..."the slippery slope of doubt". I like that. ;-) Whups, gotta go! Keep going!

Author's reply

Welcome back. I'd wondered if you finally gave up on the story, or if you just got incredibly busy. When does softball season begin? This story will go on for a while yet. I'm glad you like the direction the story is taking. It will stay on course but get very much more frightening for poor Legolas. I hope to hear from you again soon.

Lossenchristal · 30 March 2004 · Chapter 43

Oh dear, this is getting spookier and spookier!:/ I am curious to see how far you will go with this, and just what is real, and what isn't!:)I am still enjoying it though! :D Please hurry up and continue!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

Spooky is good, isn't it? So, you are curious to know if Legolas is really possessed or just imagining it. Well, of course, you have to continue reading to find out. :o) I'm glad you are still enjoying the story. Never fear. I will update again soon.

Sivan · 30 March 2004 · Chapter 43

Hey! That is so evil one cliffy. NOW you know that YOU need to update soon? I still love what I read, as it still so tensed, and written-well. Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic, it is marvelous, and wonderful. Have a Happy Holiday! Sivan

Author's reply

You should know by now how evil I am. Update soon. Yes, I will remind myself to do that. :o) Thank you. Thank you. What holiday are you referring to?

*~SuGaR~* · 26 March 2004 · Chapter 42

*sigh*...after such a nice, happy chapter you just have to remind us again that this is not a happy story...in the smallest way possible too so that we now all know something is worng, but have absolutely no clue as to what it is, except from what we already know that is... Legolas scrunching his face?...hehe...funny... More soon, please!!!!!!!!! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

As you know, I like to throw in lighthearted moments from time to time to both break up the intensity and to add another layer of texture to the story. But, you also know it never lasts. The next chapter will be a continuation of what you already know and also add a little twist, as well. I'll update early next week.

Alina · 26 March 2004 · Chapter 42

Another wonderful chapter! I´m glad Aragorn went back, the amount of loyalty and friendship he shows is truly touching. I really hope that Legolas will be able to draw strength from that. I´m looking forward to your next update. Alina

Author's reply

Thank you so much. I knew Tolkien never delved into whether Legolas and Aragorn were good friends before Legolas arrived in Rivendell to tell Elrond that Gollum had escaped. However, through the 'magic' of fanfiction, most writers like to say a strong friendship existed. I certainly do. I hope you also liked the dream sequence between Legolas and his brother. Tolkien never established a family for Legolas besides his father. Again, I like the idea he had siblings. A new update will be along early next week.

sofia · 25 March 2004 · Chapter 42

I like Legolas's dream about catching the fish.

Author's reply

I'm so glad you like the dream. I wanted to give the intense story another breather and give a glimpse into part of Legolas's family, at the same time.

Sivan · 25 March 2004 · Chapter 42

The nightmare has back... Great chapter as always, more please... soon? I still love what I read. Hey, this is very tensed and I love it. Keep up the PERFECT work that you're doing with your fic, it is amazing. Sivan

Author's reply

Yes, I'm afraid the nightmare is indeed back. I'm glad you like the tension. I think it makes it exciting for the readers. Thank you so much. Amazing is a wonderful complement.

Lossenchristal · 25 March 2004 · Chapter 42

Awww, thanks for giving Legolas such a nice dream!:) That was so sweet! Now you just have to get him through the next dream....;) Leaving us hanging as usual! Thanks for updating! Please do so again soon!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

I'm glad you liked the dream. As you've no doubt noticed, I like to throw in something lighthearted, by either a dream or a flashback, to break up the extreme intensity of the story. There will be a bit of a twist in the next dream---and not a good one. Thank you for reviewing.

*~SuGaR~* · 19 March 2004 · Chapter 41

ACK!!!!!!!! I just want to grab that elf, shake him so hard and tell him to snap out of it!!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't he see it!?!?!?!? Argh...so frustrating!!!!!!!!! It's made perfectly clear to us, but they just don't see and no matter how loud you scream it to them, it just makes no difference cause they still can't hear you...that's called something...dramatic irony or something... WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so helpless!!!!!!!!!!! Just watching my elf break down without even realizing it and not being able to do anything about it!!!!!!!! This whole story may have made me feel that way, but I never would have been able to do anything anyway, but now!!!!!!!! Argh!!!!!!! It seems so simple...curse you Mordraug, curse you!!!!!!!! Mental breakdowns are always so painful to read especially when it's happening to my favourite elf and he's talking to himself!!!...but it's not over yet...no, precious...only more excrutiating torture for our little elf!!!!!!!!!! *sigh* As for Thranduil sitting around and hugging Legolas...no, that wouldn't do...he can come sit around and hug me while we sit together and endure this endless torture of being so utterly helpless =) Thranduil obviously knows how that feels... *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

Believe it or not, I often feel like shaking Legolas, too. But, then I think, if I did snap him out of it, what would that do to the story? I'm afraid there Will be much more frustration and helplessness on your part. But, then I know you know that already. :o) Maybe, after Thranduil finishes with that business in Mirkwood, the two of you can commiserate together. More soon. A large part of the next chapter will be a nice change, brief though it is. I hope you'll like it.
